Thank you for this video Irene! So much truth in it. I really recognize the waking up in the morning part. Very often I wake up and it can feel like the same way I have always woken up, basically not in a safe place. Since I started orienting immediately after waking up (for several months now), things started to change. It sets the tone for the rest of the day in my opinion, that is why I think it is key in recovery/healing (at least for me it is). It is the moment of the day you can have the biggest impact on the rest of your day. It sort of is routine now for me, not first hitting the showers: no first 10-15 minutes just for me. It makes all the difference in the world:) Holding myself, focusing on the external world while also focusing on breathing, movement with attention, not demanding anything from yourself and also hearing the radio does the trick for me. It is the attention you give yourself which is key I think, basically you give yourself a warm welcome in the world. Probably something a lot of us here are not used to, my system definitely was not used to that. Wish I started earlier doing this, so hopefully others will!

How do you - can you, relearn a new safety map whilst living in an unsafe environment? Releasing helps, but sometimes I have to hold it in because of who I live with.

Concerning the sickness. Last year when I had a Covid (in a light form) those 2 weeks where one of the best weeks of the year. I rested a lot, was relatively calm, cooked simple food (as I had no taste and smell). As if I just allowed not to be in a hurry and to stop

This one just rocked me and I thought I had heard most all this concepts but it's given me perspective on how my children may have received me. Shook over here...also I've taken the 21 day nervous system reset & though it's informative this was wow...just wow!!!

I can’t find Elia Mrak’s movement exercise from the link in “show more”. It goes to his main webpage.

Loads of good stuff as always, Irene. You mention the idea of parents being 'solid rocks' to their children, and that reminds me of the mother in 'The Railway Children' - how she was determined that the tragedy she and their father had suffered was going to affect her children as little as possible. I didn't read it till recently and I don't know if I could have taken it in if I'd read it as a child, but it's a great model for mothering myself now.

This is gold 🏅 and the time stamps in the description are awesome. Not that I used them but knowing they’re their gives me calm (kinda like having food and tp right now 😄 #levity). Thank you for your work 🙏🏽

I understand...thank you for putting words into what i am feeling...we really do need to be on the offence (aware) to stay out of our stories (and others) and stay in the moment...looking around at what is good 👍.
