I have noticed 7 things that I missed in this video: 1. Larran's and Brimstone keys are the main argument for doing Konar or Krystillia, respectively. It can be very good for 'poor' mid level people to do a couple dozen tasks on those masters to obtain a few of those keys, so they can unlock those gear upgrades that cost a few mill at most. Doing Konar every 10th task for the large amount of points is almost a necessity at this point, especially early/mid game when you still have to unlock stuff. 2. Miscellaneous items that make slayer a lot more efficient and easy to do. Think bonecrusher, ash sanctifier, holy wrench, proselyte, soul bearer, slayer rings, etc. They honestly make slayer a lot more efficient, and at times cheaper as well. 3. Thralls. They up your dps on 'annoying' tasks by a lot and work on most, if not all key bosses as well. In a single task it won't make much of a difference, but after 10k boss kills on your way to 99, it will have saved you 50 hours easily, which is huge. 4. This video is made for main accounts that have access to the GE to buy gear, food, potions. I feel like that could have been specified. Ironman slayer is completely different when looking at efficiency. 5. The offering spells. As a main you can just buy wrath runes and cast the spells, giving you insane amounts of prayer xp for free. Considering the fact you need 70 prayer, or 74/77, to do most bosses efficiently, and 85 for a diary, I feel like this could have been mentioned as well, perhaps in the 'late game' section. 6. Diary rewards that make your life much easier. Think Konar teleport with Rada's Blessing, noted bones from red dragons with karamja diary and the noted dagannoth bones with fremennik. 7. Boss slayer makes a ton of money, but what drops am I looking for? Mention the Hydra's Claw, Cerberus crystals, Sire's bludgeon fragments, etc. This may seem like quite a list filled with critique. I actually thought this was an excellent video with loads of key information and great examples (like the do/don't do tasks and showing how to stack Dust Devils!). The things I've listed are mainly what I find to be greatly useful during slayer and pretty much musthaves if going for efficiency in the late game. Once you need like 600k for a level, those things add up quickly to save you dozens of hours in the long run.
These are all great ideas I would have loved to include. In the end though I wanted to try to keep the guide under 30 minutes as to not be too overwhelming for beginners. I was thinking in the future I'd maybe make a more intermediate/advanced slayer guide to go along with this, as there is just so many things you could include in a slayer guide!

im seeing this late but im gonna reply anyway 1. konar for points is not worth doing every 10th task, for 50 and 100 its fine (maybe with kourend elite you could make an argument for every 10th but itll be bad for xp) 2. slayer rings arent really worth getting early anymore, the only task you use them for really is dark beasts and you dont unlock them till 90 3. thralls fine for bossing, not rlly used for efficient slayer 5.sounds like a waste of time for mains, more of an ironman thing 6.shouldnt unlock red dragons in the first place but karamja diary is nice for the gloves I guess, if anything lumby elite is the most important
Never understood why most Slayer guides recommend blocking fossil island wyverns. You're only assigned 13 so the task can be completed in 15 minutes if you're 90+ combat, they're right next to a bank and their average drop value is 10k. The XP is pretty bad but you'll be onto the next task before you even notice.
If your main goal is max xp its inefficient. If your goal is literally anything else its good. A lot of people say to block the monsters you dont like so i assume a lot of people dont like them.
Prayer gear, head to long tailed ones and pray melee. They don't do range/mage like the other smaller wyverns. This means the usual eating is to make space for drops. I always do them cuz it goes quick, easy points and less used on skips 😎

this guide really sucks imo. wildy slayer should always be priorty early. pking is dead and if ur a noob u can fire strike safespot pretty much everything. 25 points ea and every 10th u get a huge bonus. slayer helm in no time. plus larrans keys??? its a no brainer imo. Konar is way underrated here. the keys make u rich fast af and.provide lots of useful drops for ironmen. going to different locations is actually a positive imo because its more fun and helps u learn the game. this guy sounds like he hasnt made a new account in years.
@@PurpYoshii yea i did this on my iron tbh. Got superiors, broads, slayer helm and rune pouch all before i left the wild. Then konar from there. Keys to keys. Once you unlock bask knights it can be worth to stop konar tasks until faceguard and then back to konar until kraken. This is what i did and i think it was very efficient. BUT that being said, RS is a game that you can play how ever you want so efficient always doesn’t matter but it would of been good for the vid.
25:21 This should be way earlier in the video and highlighted as something strongly recommended for early game slayer. Once you get the slayer reward system solved, including researching optimal tasks and block lists, the entire skill just feels more streamlined and easy to train.
I will say that the slayer helm is not only a quality of life, I mean if you get an Abereant spectre task, then you can still get the damage buffer from the mask while still wearing the nose peg. But still, a really great guide!

I know I'm quite late here, but I think something that was overlooked is Konar and Brimstone keys. While not the most valuable thing, each chest averages around 100k and can hit up to 300k+ which while in the grand scheme it's not that much, for many tasks, that can help pay for the use of arrows, magic, and especially the cannon. If you can skip tasks consistently, and aren't too concerned about bossing, I've found her to be a really strong choice for me
and u can use fairy rings to get to Konar and then to Catacombs where most tasks are. i was lvl 75 killing 33 bronze dragons which are lvl 140 xd. now i have jellies. got rune sword 20k 5 min ago not bad
I think the slayer helm is far better than the ring if your trying to decide what to get first, not to mention the % bonuses towards slayer task monsters. A lot of places you need to go for slayer around 40-75 ( where most people get enough points for either the ring or helm) you can get close if not right on top of it with all the new telly tabs that have been added to the game and all the new ways to teleport with enchanted jewelry. On my ironman I'm 84 slayer with enough points to get the ring and I have yet to do so because I haven't found a reason to.
I had no idea about slayer task "weighting" with some being more common and I'm 115 slayer in rs3, that will help a LOT in prioritizing what to block with my more limited osrs slayer points.
At 13:00 when you talk about the slayer mask, the great thing about it is the fact you can use black mask along with earmuffs or nose peg. If you just had a black mask you can’t use it if you need to wear a nose peg..
I’d like to chime in an suggest you also farm NMZ to imbue your Black Mask / Slayer Helm asap as it will allow you to use Mage and Range as well as increase your XP/HR for all styles overall!

@@dannyU2g It’s more efficient to just cannon through the early-midgame of slayer because the tasks are so bad. Spend money on slayer to speed it up, make your money elsewhere (for example smithing like this guy said)
I thought I was bad having gotten 99 slayer with addy gloves and like 70 QP total (was *ages* ago), but turns out that there are more quest-averse people out there haha
90 is probably too high unless you do it on mobile afk while working or something, doing something else before starting slayer. I think 70 is high enough to do proper slayer. Then again I think I started slayer at like 40 combat
100% agree. 90/90/90 is ideal for starting Slayer, as you will be bursting and cannoning lots of tasks, so by the time you're near 99 slayer you should have 99 in all the combat stats. Also it allows you to rack up 3m NMZ points to get all the gear imbued.
I dunno about mains but the bracelets are very useful for ironmen. Slaughters are good for getting that one slayer item you want, like a trident, and expeditious' are good if you're nervous about wildy slayer
Bracelets are used on mains as well. Should be doing (almost) every task with one - either slaughter for the good tasks, or expeditious for the bad tasks you don't skip.

Layer is a skill which I don’t train for the sake of leveling up. I train it as I’m enjoying the process to meet differenf monsters. Als, it allowed me to explore the rubedaow maps. So it’s a slow skill yet enjoyable experience
I wish he went more in depth about Konar as a slayer master. You get the most points per task, unique drops, and the brimstone keys, so she is better than he says she is. Locked location tasks can be bad, but most of the tasks she gives are fine.
If you hate bossing, konar is fine but please consider this. If you’re doing konar tasks and making like 200k gp per hour while getting 15k slayer exp per hour, you could just as easily do Vorkath for 5 hours and then spend that money on cannonballs. This is a way faster way to train slayer and the money per hour from Konar is too low to really compensate.
7:10 I'd include a ring of wealth in that basic setup. Dirt cheap, teleports to the grand exchange (sell your loot) and picks up COINS (huge huge huge, in RS3 I have to pay millions of dungeoneering tokens for such a privilege)
37.2M here and still going strong. Slayer rarely gets boring due to its variation and so many options in how you can do it. Great skill. Probably the skill I've spent the most time on after rc.
For Dust Devils Smoke Dungeon can be a viable alternative bc of the new task only area. Though I haven't tried I am pretty sure you can use a cannon there...
If you are an iron man I would not recommend skipping Turoths, they drop herbs/seeds at a decent rate and are not that hard to kill. You will also appreciate having a Leaf Bladed Sword when you start doing kurasks.
One thing you overlooked is the fact that if you get assigned a monster with an equipment requirement (such as Banshees), the following dialogue will give your character the ability to say something like "Have you got any equipment for me?" which can inform players that they need special equipment for the enemy and even highlight it in the npc's trade window with a little circle.
only thing i would change is choosing slayer helm over bigger and badder. Only reason is convenience on a low level slayer. if you are 50ish cbt and starting slayer, than the goal, is to go for the helm over fighting higher slayer monsters at slower rates.
Based on my own experience with Slayer, I'd say try to avoid Slayer as best as you can early on and use the museum reward and quests to level up slayer as much as possible. Use Nightmare Zone to help you train your combat stats until you can at least use Chaeldar. By this point you'll have some decent gear too and training your earlier levels in Slayer won't be nearly as tedious. I'd also highly recommend using a cannon whenever possible and learning how to use double hit spots. I use herb runs between tasks to pay for cannonballs.
You know what we need a preferred list. Like they have on rs3. So you can put tasks you do enjoy in a list so they show up more often. It wouldn't be that overpowered and people would be more likely to do slayer when they get a good task.
spiritual creatures are worth doing these days due to nex release easy access bank as well as an increased loot pool with ceremonial items and d boots as well as the high end herbs and super restores and blood shard drops
I personally never skip or block anything that has a superior, or that has a boss variant. So far my block list is iron and steel dragons and suqahs. The dragons aren't high weight but I used to get them all the time when they were really tedious.
I only use konar cuz I enjoy the keys but I need to do more quests and get my barrows gloves anyway and when I do I’m blocking those 3 aswell lol right now I only have trolls blocked because trolls are absolute cancer to me 😂
So many content creators do this same thing, assume people who are looking up guides (obviously newer/rusty players) have the ability to obtain and use fire cape & barrows gloves. i will never understand why the activities to get these items are considered by many to be the start of endgame, yet they are on every mid tier gear guide on youtube.

Start slayer at 100 combat so you have duradel, and when u have fire cape and barrows gloves it's much more efficient. Wilderness slayer is pretty fun and profitable too if you have craws bow or a Viggoras chainmace.
Nice guide, flipping! Just a few things I'd like to add that I feel should have been: 1) Spiked Manacles are a more fitting mid-game item than rune boots. 2) If you do wilderness slayer for points (as it gives the most) you cannot use Krystilia to change the difficulty of tasks so if you go to Vannaka closeby and change your difficulty settings to match your combat level, you will get super easy fast wilderness tasks at a low level, increasing your slayer points per hour, which will allow you to save more points for skipping and blocking tasks in the mid-to-late game.
I personally think slayer is better to start with range over melee. Bone crossbow and attractor plus the fact that most slayer monsters can be safe-spotted makes food cost and the time for trips not worth it. You spend pennys on bone bolts compared to food and pray costs later. Bone bolts are viable all the way to rcb and broad bolts. Plus if you decide to go wildly slayer early it makes everything so easy. If you die you lose nothing and you can buy spares from the goblins under lumby.
plus for melee its super easy to do waterfall. get big stats. and just level your ranged on low level slayer monsters early on. magic imho can best be done with arceus library. or questing.
Wish I had this video for when I started slayer. It is a quite confusing skill to understand and most guides are not nearly as clear and good as this one.
In my honest humbling opinion, all jokes aside and everything gathered on my 60 att zerk getting a slayer helm over black mask is major for those earlier low levels, esp if u cant skip tasks. I'd suggest farming points asap as its fast and easy af. Slayer helm over black mask anyday esp for when your starting off on certain tasks.
slayer xp is based off the monsters hp so best tasks are high hp mobs with low def that you can hit higher.. im sure the slayer xp is the same as the mobs hp u kill so for 99 you'll need to do over 13m damage on task
I'm combat level 82, with 54 slayer. Will using Chaeldar be good at this point? Also, the benefits of points from Krystilia seems great, but Wildy Slayer seems daunting at this point. Any suggestions?
The spiritual creature task at above 83 Slayer makes roughly 300K per hour and it only takes about an hour a task. I don't know why people complain about it.
I'm sorry but slayer mask is definitely a must have... imbuing it gives better bonuses. 15% damage and accuracy bonus for magic and ranged as well. I'm surprised you missed mentioning its literal HUGE impact to slayers xp speeds.

One thing tough that is bothering me. Can you please be more consistent with combat level? some times ive heard you say 70 combat level and that means 70 in strength defence and attack. sometimes only combat level. that is not the same lol.
You can train slayer early game if you get 43 prayer and 61 range you could easily do tasks praying I'm level 65 with 64slayer 1def... But yeah go to slayer master and do easy tasks and ur good Same with magic if u have Dt you can barrage I have 94mage so trying get 94 RNG so I'm cannoning all my wildy slayer tasks and it's going great have prolly made 15-30m from loot
Mhm, a good strategy is using Duradel (or depending on combat level your best alternative) for 9 tasks and then going to Konar for the streak bonus on 10th task.
What are recommended 6 block tasks in order of priority, for fastest exp in slayer for a high level account (i.e lv 120+). I am using Duradel as slayermaster, but trying to figure out which would be best to block vs skip. Sitting at 85 slayer atm, looking to rush to 95 slayer.
Hell yeah it’s a fight to get 99 slayer but it’s most definitely worth it ! Great video man !!! Took me about a year of juggling life and osrs to get to 85 slayer so far . So if you have more time to dedicate you can get it quicker most definitely.
For real. Do 3-5 hours of slayer every day and you'll get 1-99 slayer in 2-3 or 4 months. Very doable and realistic, and you'll probably make a shit ton of money down the road. I'm talking like 100-200m lol, especially if you activate boss specific tasks like zulrah and vorkath (huge bonus from slayer helm lol).

i recently hit 97 slayer and i cant wait to finish it, the cape is badass and i can then finally chillax and skill

Quest cape was the first thing I done and slayer is my lowest skill at 75 rest are high 80s or low 90s

Pretty good overall, but i think slayer helmet is the most important thing to get when you save up points.
I would level all melee to 90+ on NMZ before slayer, this will both speed up and make slayer more lucrative.

90 is too high to put off slayer. I started slayer at 40-50 combat but i think a comfortable spot to start for most would be 70 in all combat skills
100% agree. 90/90/90 is ideal for starting Slayer, as you will be bursting and cannoning lots of tasks, so by the time you're near 99 slayer you should have 99 in all the combat stats. Also it allows you to rack up 3m NMZ points to get all the gear imbued.

I dunno about mains but the bracelets are very useful for ironmen. Slaughters are good for getting that one slayer item you want, like a trident, and expeditious' are good if you're nervous about wildy slayer
Bracelets are used on mains as well. Should be doing (almost) every task with one - either slaughter for the good tasks, or expeditious for the bad tasks you don't skip.
Black demons were crazy good range xp for me before MM2. After MM2 I made nearly 100m in 900 demonic gorillas kills
Specters with a herb sack are a great task. Black demons are trash loot, but with a cannon and high melee stats are solid EXP per hour.

Layer is a skill which I don’t train for the sake of leveling up. I train it as I’m enjoying the process to meet differenf monsters. Als, it allowed me to explore the rubedaow maps. So it’s a slow skill yet enjoyable experience
I got 99 slayer on my gmaul pure last year and I might try to get 99 with another account. This guide has been quite helpful.

I wish he went more in depth about Konar as a slayer master. You get the most points per task, unique drops, and the brimstone keys, so she is better than he says she is. Locked location tasks can be bad, but most of the tasks she gives are fine.
For bossing she's wack
If you hate bossing, konar is fine but please consider this. If you’re doing konar tasks and making like 200k gp per hour while getting 15k slayer exp per hour, you could just as easily do Vorkath for 5 hours and then spend that money on cannonballs. This is a way faster way to train slayer and the money per hour from Konar is too low to really compensate.

7:10 I'd include a ring of wealth in that basic setup. Dirt cheap, teleports to the grand exchange (sell your loot) and picks up COINS (huge huge huge, in RS3 I have to pay millions of dungeoneering tokens for such a privilege)
Good guide that sets down the fundamentals for those who don't understand slayer. Sitting at 18.2m xp myself now and still not bored off the skill.
37.2M here and still going strong. Slayer rarely gets boring due to its variation and so many options in how you can do it. Great skill. Probably the skill I've spent the most time on after rc.

For Dust Devils Smoke Dungeon can be a viable alternative bc of the new task only area. Though I haven't tried I am pretty sure you can use a cannon there...
If you are an iron man I would not recommend skipping Turoths, they drop herbs/seeds at a decent rate and are not that hard to kill. You will also appreciate having a Leaf Bladed Sword when you start doing kurasks.
One thing you overlooked is the fact that if you get assigned a monster with an equipment requirement (such as Banshees), the following dialogue will give your character the ability to say something like "Have you got any equipment for me?" which can inform players that they need special equipment for the enemy and even highlight it in the npc's trade window with a little circle.
only thing i would change is choosing slayer helm over bigger and badder. Only reason is convenience on a low level slayer. if you are 50ish cbt and starting slayer, than the goal, is to go for the helm over fighting higher slayer monsters at slower rates.

Based on my own experience with Slayer, I'd say try to avoid Slayer as best as you can early on and use the museum reward and quests to level up slayer as much as possible. Use Nightmare Zone to help you train your combat stats until you can at least use Chaeldar. By this point you'll have some decent gear too and training your earlier levels in Slayer won't be nearly as tedious.
I'd also highly recommend using a cannon whenever possible and learning how to use double hit spots. I use herb runs between tasks to pay for cannonballs.

You know what we need a preferred list. Like they have on rs3. So you can put tasks you do enjoy in a list so they show up more often. It wouldn't be that overpowered and people would be more likely to do slayer when they get a good task.

spiritual creatures are worth doing these days due to nex release easy access bank as well as an increased loot pool with ceremonial items and d boots as well as the high end herbs and super restores and blood shard drops
Slayer helm does have a unique use. Makes shayzien to steel dragons a safe path. Banshees/Spectres
Excellent guide. Long time player here but if I was new this is the guide I would want to use.
I personally never skip or block anything that has a superior, or that has a boss variant. So far my block list is iron and steel dragons and suqahs. The dragons aren't high weight but I used to get them all the time when they were really tedious.
I only use konar cuz I enjoy the keys but I need to do more quests and get my barrows gloves anyway and when I do I’m blocking those 3 aswell lol right now I only have trolls blocked because trolls are absolute cancer to me 😂
So many content creators do this same thing, assume people who are looking up guides (obviously newer/rusty players) have the ability to obtain and use fire cape & barrows gloves. i will never understand why the activities to get these items are considered by many to be the start of endgame, yet they are on every mid tier gear guide on youtube.

Just finally got my 99 slayer for my new account. Took me about 7 months of about 3-5 hours per day and man it was so much fun
Been thinking of jumping back into RS, my old account is pretty much a maxed non osrs account because I began playing in like 04, remember slayer being my shit, im probs gonna begin a new account tomorrow when I wake up

Actually in response to him saying him not listing every slayer monster. You can usually find a TH-cam video on each specific slayer task.
Start slayer at 100 combat so you have duradel, and when u have fire cape and barrows gloves it's much more efficient.
Wilderness slayer is pretty fun and profitable too if you have craws bow or a Viggoras chainmace.
Nice guide, flipping! Just a few things I'd like to add that I feel should have been:
1) Spiked Manacles are a more fitting mid-game item than rune boots.
2) If you do wilderness slayer for points (as it gives the most) you cannot use Krystilia to change the difficulty of tasks so if you go to Vannaka closeby and change your difficulty settings to match your combat level, you will get super easy fast wilderness tasks at a low level, increasing your slayer points per hour, which will allow you to save more points for skipping and blocking tasks in the mid-to-late game.
I personally think slayer is better to start with range over melee. Bone crossbow and attractor plus the fact that most slayer monsters can be safe-spotted makes food cost and the time for trips not worth it. You spend pennys on bone bolts compared to food and pray costs later. Bone bolts are viable all the way to rcb and broad bolts. Plus if you decide to go wildly slayer early it makes everything so easy. If you die you lose nothing and you can buy spares from the goblins under lumby.
plus for melee its super easy to do waterfall. get big stats. and just level your ranged on low level slayer monsters early on.
magic imho can best be done with arceus library. or questing.
Wish I had this video for when I started slayer. It is a quite confusing skill to understand and most guides are not nearly as clear and good as this one.

In my honest humbling opinion, all jokes aside and everything gathered on my 60 att zerk getting a slayer helm over black mask is major for those earlier low levels, esp if u cant skip tasks. I'd suggest farming points asap as its fast and easy af. Slayer helm over black mask anyday esp for when your starting off on certain tasks.

As ironman, I like abberant spectres for herb drops. I also like spiritual creatures because I need the boots still.
slayer xp is based off the monsters hp so best tasks are high hp mobs with low def that you can hit higher.. im sure the slayer xp is the same as the mobs hp u kill so for 99 you'll need to do over 13m damage on task

I'm combat level 82, with 54 slayer. Will using Chaeldar be good at this point? Also, the benefits of points from Krystilia seems great, but Wildy Slayer seems daunting at this point. Any suggestions?
The spiritual creature task at above 83 Slayer makes roughly 300K per hour and it only takes about an hour a task. I don't know why people complain about it.
I'm sorry but slayer mask is definitely a must have... imbuing it gives better bonuses. 15% damage and accuracy bonus for magic and ranged as well.
I'm surprised you missed mentioning its literal HUGE impact to slayers xp speeds.

One thing tough that is bothering me. Can you please be more consistent with combat level? some times ive heard you say 70 combat level and that means 70 in strength defence and attack. sometimes only combat level. that is not the same lol.
You can train slayer early game if you get 43 prayer and 61 range you could easily do tasks praying I'm level 65 with 64slayer 1def... But yeah go to slayer master and do easy tasks and ur good
Same with magic if u have Dt you can barrage I have 94mage so trying get 94 RNG so I'm cannoning all my wildy slayer tasks and it's going great have prolly made 15-30m from loot

Mhm, a good strategy is using Duradel (or depending on combat level your best alternative) for 9 tasks and then going to Konar for the streak bonus on 10th task.

What are recommended 6 block tasks in order of priority, for fastest exp in slayer for a high level account (i.e lv 120+). I am using Duradel as slayermaster, but trying to figure out which would be best to block vs skip. Sitting at 85 slayer atm, looking to rush to 95 slayer.

Hell yeah it’s a fight to get 99 slayer but it’s most definitely worth it ! Great video man !!! Took me about a year of juggling life and osrs to get to 85 slayer so far . So if you have more time to dedicate you can get it quicker most definitely.
For real. Do 3-5 hours of slayer every day and you'll get 1-99 slayer in 2-3 or 4 months. Very doable and realistic, and you'll probably make a shit ton of money down the road. I'm talking like 100-200m lol, especially if you activate boss specific tasks like zulrah and vorkath (huge bonus from slayer helm lol).
