Ethos EZ Glass and Ultra Glaco real world test update #1

- I had previously coated 2 sections of my windshield with the Ethos EZ Glass Graphene Coating and the Soft 99 Ultra Glaco coating and wanted to see how they performed against plain untreated glass on my car. To my surprise, not only did both coatings far outshine no coating, but one of the coatings really stood above the other. Watch the testing to see which really impressed me.

Thanks for the footage.
Also have had the application lines show up in the dew on carpro flyby30, though I applied it to 2 other cars without that issue. Still never figured out what happened there. Possibly my bottle was starting to go bad, or it doesn’t like certain temps for application. I have used ultra Glaco on a few cars since then, and have been pretty impressed. One of my biggest requirements for a glass coating is that it plays well with most drying aids. Just used Gtechniq G1 for the first time a few weeks ago and it does not play well with anything and is super grippy on the drying towel, the opposite of their G5 glass sealant.
Good to know!
Thanks for the update. Please let us know if Ethos come back to you or not. It’s a shame as the coating seems to work well. I’ve used Gyeon view and that gave me wiper judder. I want to try Angelwax H2go next.
On the Angelwax site they have an Exodus 2 year coating which is actually reasonably priced, but out of stock. I am waiting for the new C6 Ceramics glass coating to be delivered and will be applying on a Toyota Highlander.
Think you misunderstand what people are saying about using Glaco glass cleaner before applying glass coating. They are telling you to use the Glaco glass compound which comes in an applicator very similar to the glass coating. Also Ulta Glaco is Softb99 most durable glass coating but it isn't their most hydrophobic or repellent one., Hope this helps, I've used their compound and coatings many times and they are very good
This makes zero sense to me, but ok. Their own marketing material is where the claims are coming from, and it's supposed to be extremely hydrophobic. As far as using the compound, it's not a requirement, though I understand they may gave their own cleaner.
Glaco Dx and Glaco roll on are more hydrophobic and water disperses faster from windscreen at a lower speed while driving car but they aren't as durable as Glaco Ultra, which lasts longer but needs a higher speed to disperse off windscreen while driving. As for Glaco compound it completely strip's glass of any contaminates and oils and allows Glaco products to adhere better and last longer. There are many videos on TH-cam that explain this,John at Forensic Detailing has some good ones. Not trying to be a smartarse hope this exp, anation helps ? Really enjoy your channel and tips and have subscribed.
Glaco DX and Glaco roll on are the the more hydrophobic coatings requiring less speed while driving to disperse water from windscreen but are less durable(think they are silicone based).Glaco Ultra is more durable but it requires higher speed to disperse water. As for the compound its generally considered the main step in decon of your windscreen before applying Glaco coatings, there are numerous videos on youtube regarding Glaco/Soft99,John from the forensic detailing channel has few where he goes through Soft99 /Glaco products. Sorry long winded and im not trying to be a smart arse but maybe something gets lost in translation from Japanese, anyway love your channel and all the rinseless tips and advice.
Thanks for your videos. Please can you let me know if you ever experience wiper judder after glass coatings?
I've applied 3 different coatings so far and none gave caused this, nor have any smeared water across the surface.
Happy Father's day
Thank you, and to you as well if you're a dad.
@TheOutdoorDetailer thanks. Yes a dad of 4 sons, 3 are already adults and last one now in middle school
Am hearing also kinda experiencing bad customer service. They don’t respond in a timely matter when email or chatting live. Not sure what’s going on hope they get with that. I don’t have that issue with DIY or ADS.
I've gotten replies at the strangest times. In the case of the graphene glass coating they did send a few follow up messages but I've given them my phone number and nothing so far.
