A quick tip from a spray can user. If you want to achieve something similar to this. Follow these small tips: 1. Take your time by shaking your spraycan. (ATLEAST 3minutes of insane shaking). This will 90% stop spitbacks of those huge dots. 2. When spraying an item u need to understand that closer you spray heavyer the layer will be and it will guarantee drips of paint that you will try to sand of later. Instead you should spray from further by imitating a "fog". A spray gun like in this clip takes a lot of air and makes paint foglike witch easily spreads out on an object. With a spraycan you need to do it from further away. 3. if you feel that an object got this "wet" feeling stop. Wait 30 to 60minutes and shakeit and spray paint another layer on top. After 3 or so passes you will see how beautiful paint spread out. Good luck :)
This is incredible. Really, really solid job. I've been painting clear Ps5 controller cases that clip onto the controller just because I want to customise them but am afraid of messing up. Maybe I might give it a go for real now. This is genuinely fantastic, mate. Fair play
Hey, thank you so much glad you like it. I have to say just go for it, if you don't like the result just remove the paint with some IPA and try again. good luck
You need to sand it guys. Sand it and then clean. Then use an adhesion promotor for plastic. And obviously a 2k clear coat. If you want it to last forever
Hey man you are one of the main people who inspired me to start customizing my controllers and consoles thank you! I have been following your videos and amazed by how awesome your work is keep it up!
Truly EPIC job on that controller! Nice DIY tips on everything! Another tip is make painting mistakes on a broken controller before customizing your daily driver!
My man. This is class a work. Love it. You have motivated me to get in to this. Quick q…. How durable is the paint? Will it sustain heavy usage? Would be great to see some content on these controllers after they have had heaps of usage and how to care for them. Thanks again, champion!
If you sand the plastic, prime it and use 2k max varnish is going to last for years and years, I use mine like a normal controller and it looks like the first day. Good luck on your project.
@@EJTechandDIYso my next company I am starting is custom controllers since I own cell phone stores and have been doing repairs on controllers since the Sega days. I am looking for ways to do paint jobs and everything that will last. You willing to teach me and I’ll pay? 😅
Sweet!!! it looks really badass, It's cyberpunk so... if I did it, it would be like a version of a day 1 glitch, this one is a premium season pass DLC.
What airbrush/compressor do you use? I make custom mice and right now I just use spray paint but I think they will be a lot better once I get an airbrush.
the airbrush is gonna be a game changer, I user a EVOLUTION SILVERLINE Airbrush 2 in One with 2 & 5 ml cup and 0.2 and 0.4, and the compressor is a Euro-Tec 20A oil compressor its really quiet.
Hey dude I LOVED this mod and I want to make it as well but I think if I open the controller I won't be able to close it. Can you maybe make a video explaining how you did that?
What did you use to protect the paint? I want to customize my control but I don't know when I finish using transparent spray because I understand that when you touch something a lot with said product it loses its function, it can even become sticky. I don't know if I'm right, it would be very helpful if you tell me.
I absolutely love your paint job But if i want to do my controller can i use acrylic spray paint ? And will be safe to use i mean do i need clear finish to seal the paint?
Hey thank you so much for the compliment, yes you use acrylic paint just don't forget to use thin coats of paint, the clear coat is 100% necessary to protect the paint job.
Very cool, you explained it very good!!! :) One question, I saw some other videos on this and most of them sanded the controller... How come you did not?
This is great. Did you end up using a sealant on it at the end? I'm considering trying to airbrush my own as a Spider-Man theme but don't want it to end up rubbing off from usage
How do you prevent your paint from rubbing off from hand sweat kinda thing did you clear coat it afterwards or just put it together after spray painting it/doing your stencil art??
I thought this video would have like 100k views since is very well made, nice work. Anyways here comes my question: I didn't got sure about how did you made the buttons, i mean how do you actually made it and where did you get the materials to do it, i'd some mods before but only on pc keyboards and cases so modding a joystick is a completely new world to me. Any answers will be apreciated.
