I messaged you a while back on how one would do this after you made the mando controller. I was essentially right and you confirmed it. So cool to see you actually do it. I’m gonna try this with some pla and get creative to smooth them out and paint them. I’m but trying to drop more money on a resin printer 😬
how do you find the exact size to make custom buttons for different handhelds ? Some are smallers than others and unique shapes at the bottom of the buttons. You need the original ones to understand how I guess, or maybe just a 3D print file of the buttons?
So the mica powder creates the color background? Also how long do you let the buttons cure before adding the 3d prints? I think you said it but wasn’t sure
There is no stupid questions, the pressure pot will remove any air pockets in the casting, without it you will be having issues with bubble and air pockets. But its possible to do it without one.

Mate I'm waiting for you to customize a NEW ps5 controller that's coming in 2023. The one with removable sticks. I'm sure you will make something good of it.
The problem with that is most moulding silicones (specifically platinum based silicones) will not cure properly when in contact with UV resins, which is what resin printers use. The UV resin inhibits the silicone's curing process which can make casting small parts like this incredibly difficult. I actually bought his 3D printed Xbox letters with the intention of doing what you describe. Making a mould of them in silicone so I could recast them myself with clear resin (to shine LEDs through). The silicone directly in contact with the printed letters would remain sticky for a long time and in some areas just wouldn't set at all. This made it incredibly difficult to correctly castcertain details like the gaps in the letters A and B. I ended up having to lightly sand any edges of the lettering that I could, followed by cleaning them thoroughly with IPA. After that the silicone casting process actually kinda worked. It's definitely doable but it's extremely finnicky to get it to work and generally harder to do than you'd think.
Many of you wanted to know how to get the logos in the buttons, well this video is for all of you, I hoop you enjoy and have fun with your projects.
Is it possible if I can buy the logos for the buttons already printed it would make no sense for me to buy a whole 3d printer just to make logos
Hay do you sell the o the x the triangle and the square
Amazing stuff man. This is exactly what i was looking for!

I have a rainbow 2 controller and I want to make custom buttons or someone too I got spare buttons as I had a broken controller
So the mica powder creates the color background? Also how long do you let the buttons cure before adding the 3d prints? I think you said it but wasn’t sure
It all depends on your resin, but I normally let it cure 100% before applying the logos
This is amazing thank you
do the d-pad and the buttons O X Square Triangle match with ps2 controller?
Do you have this for the switch. If not can you make one or know someone that has. Ur nolds look really.good.
Will you make any for the ps portal?
Sorry, this might be a dumb question, but what are you using the pressure pot for listed on your tools list?

@@EJTechandDIY gotcha. How bad is it without because I really want to start making my own buttons but a $600 pressure pot is quite the investment.
