How did you get the Sony labels on the back of the controller after painting? Did you use water slides or did you take the back shell from a black controller?
Amazing work bud. Quality speak through teach step. Question: I want to get into air brush as spray paint just lacks the control and detail abilities. Does it smell? Can I air brush in the house or is it an outside / garage activity?
Thank you so much papa Gleb, I use my Airbrush inside with no issues and if you stick to water base paint like Vallejo or Createx there will be no smell. I will recommend you a spray booth just because of the paint dust. The paint is not toxic but I still use a mask just to be sure.
bro I love your art! You and Berta are my pillars to follow! I wanted to ask you a question without obligation... Is the varnish that you apply before placing the stencils a water-based varnish? And another query that was if the varnish that you put on the last one could be one that is not aerosol? Thinner-based type? Or would it spoil the model by being thinner and water-based paints?
Awesome video as always! I have one question, do you sand your controllers with just regular sandpaper? Or do you use something different to sand down the curved surfaces?
Great video! I have a question if you don’t mind. When airbrushing, is there some type of paper or object I can put on my desk to protect it from the paint?
Thank you, If you want something to project your desk I recommend you to get clear vinyl or vinyl from any color you will like. I actually builded a station with acrylic to paint on.
Indeed, with an airbrush the feel of the controller is amazing, for the clear coat I recommend you to get 1K MAX or even better 2K MAX clear varnish. good luck on your projects
Hi you are actually a legend i you need to shoot for the stars with these this is art creativity is really rare. I was wondering if I can buy the files for the buttons x y o Square things you painted is there any where I can contact you
Amazing work! So you add a clear coat BEFORE your stencils? Also, I noticed you said in another comment that you airbrush your clear coat on, but saw that you use the 2k sealer. So do you just spray it from the van into your airbrush?
do you make the ps buttons with the 3d printed x circle etc... for sale? i kinda like more the more chubby and rounded this look :( edit: i saw that you, do but can u do a custom combination? like i would like to order a white buttons and a black background and viceversa
awesome controller! quick question. im trying to use vinyl stencils that i cut with my cricut, but the vinyl keeps pulling the paint off even after i use primer and a clear coat. any recommendations to stop this from happening?
He mentioned in another video that you want to remove the stencil before the paint has fully dried or it will peel off with the stencil, don't know if that helps but thought I'd let you know
Bro you inspire me to make more customs, great work! I have a question if you dont mind. Does 1k clear last a long time? I am planning to sell my customs and 2k is a bit expensive in my country. Please let me know thanks!
Happy to have inspired you to make your controllers, I have been using mine with 1K for around a year with no issues, what you can also do is offer the 2k coat for an extra cost.
Hi I'm a big fan of your work but quick question that may need a legal expert to explain: Have you experienced any copyright issues with selling your creations? I can totally understand that using company logos without permission could lead to trouble but what if you're using same brand logos on the items being customised? For example, if you airbrush 'Sony' onto a Sony controller and list it for sale online. Perhaps the cyberpunk controller you made may be acceptable since that game is available for the PS5. I suppose what I'm asking here is that since you're not mixing a completely unassociated brand with the item being customised is there anything within copyright law that makes an allowance for this?
@@EJTechandDIY I just thought about something to ask. How important would you say a pressure pot is for making the buttons? I have a cheaply made one. And not sure if I should invest more. Is there any you suggest? Always great talking to you.
@@EJTechandDIY Got it. Also how do you recommend going about filling your molds with epoxy? I have noticed resin dries in my needles tube after injecting. And then I have a to use a new one. It seems really wasteful. Also if you'd like to do DM, let me know. Not sure how to go about it without everyone getting your info.
No worries I'm happy to share with everyone, to clean the needle I have a small container with IPA 3 or 4 passes inside the tube and the needle will be ready to go for the next time you need it.
Hi EJ, I love your work and I had a couple questions. When using stencils, I see that you put a clear tape over top so that they stay in place. Do you have a preference of tape? I was also wondering if you have any issues with your resin adhering to the clear tops that you made out of UV resin. I know some people can be really rough on their buttons, and UV resin isn't the strongest. Do you ever find that they come apart? Or warp? Also what is the resin that you use for the second half of the buttons? Lastly, do you have any plans on showing your clear coating process? I'm having a bit of trouble myself when I am doing the top coat of 2k, and I would love to see how someone else does it.
Hi, the uv resin is not in contact with the outside, the uv resin is only used to keep the buttons logos in place. I actually use urethane resin for the buttons. About the clear coat what issues are you having with it?
I love your controllers! How do you make your stencils?
Thank you, glad to know that you like them. I have a plotter machine to cut them,I have silhouette cameo 4.

What kind of mask should you use for airbrushing?

@@EJTechandDIY Awesome thanks for the answer! Are you using vallejo clear coat or 2k clear?
Steal wool works best

I think you will be able to do it if you get clear silicone and a good UV light.
How do you make the stickers?
Hello there, I have a plotter machine to cut the stencil from vinyl, the one that I have is called Silhouette Cameo 4.
Did you airbrush the 1k max on or spray it straight out of the can?
1k max was spray from the can
What compressor do you recommend to use with the airbrush?
Any
