I used a washcloth about 2 weeks ago to do the normal ear cleaning thing....... it packed existing ear wax so badly I've had a super high-frequency howl and deafness in the ear this whole time. I've used Debrox with impunity (glycerin with peroxide, basically), vinegar, warm salt water, and all with a bulb. One time in doc's office, his assistant began irrigation. She had to stop for some reason, I was completely deaf in the ear when I left. I've "heard" that ear wax also prevented insects and such from entering the ear when we slept on the ground :) Good to read through comments for the "don'ts" too....... since age 5 or so 56 years ago, I've had really sensitive cartilage since a major ear infection that long ago. It does affect more than we appreciate when it gets impacted...... locating sounds because missing half of our intrinsic stereo, kinda like a patch over an eye and driving.
Very helpful! Usually peroxide does the trick but it’s really clogged and I believe it’s softened and plugged it more. But my gut and a lot of research is telling me to try baking soda and water or apple cider vinegar and distilled water because no did watch an experiment to see that an acid and distilled water really breaks down the wax not just soften it. And baking soda does as well but can be very drying to the ear but I think that’s what I need. Ugh it’s a horrible feeling and I can’t function and feel like I can’t breathe

You should avoid using cotton swabs because swabs and similar object can potentially poke and damage your ear drums not to mention you are actually pushing a larger chunk of the ear wax and other contaminants deeper into your ear whenever you try using such objects.
@@keishasantamaria8190 You can check with your local pharmacist for something like ear wax removal drops and ear cleansing sprays. If your ear wax is stubbornly clogging your ear then you need to check in with a clinic or a specialist like an otolaryngologist.
Anthony Boi It's the same principle with the ear canal. The skin inside your ear is almost never touched by anything abrasive so the nerves are more sensitive, and thus the sensation is stronger when it gets a rub-down from a cotton swab.
Does water irrigation really work cause i've been suffering from ear wax and im kinda afriad of using the other and i am scared if there are any dangerous side effects it's my first time. So i just want to make sure and ask to those kind people who already tried the water irrigation...... How many minutes does it takes to boil the water? How many times do i have to repeat this?
No its pretty safe! Just make sure you are doing it correctly. Boil it till its somewhere between hot and warm. Keep doing the irrigation till you will feel that your normal hearing have returned
Good old fashioned water! That's what I usually do. Just position my head **just right** in the shower and let it go until it sounds/feels like an air bubble comes out. Done and done. Just wondering if it's safe to do w tap water.
Sure, as long as you don't use too much pressure on tap warm water. A Q-tip is only ok, to get it outside of the ear at the bottom where it lands when loosened by the showering, and often we use shampoo for hair so after rinse, it can come out a little and be caught on the Q-tip but beware sticking it inside, as cheap brands tips can pull or fall off and stick inside.
Erm...not sure about your brave method. Water !? I guess we are naturally afraid of anything entering our ears too far. There is a clinically used method by some gp's, where they lay you down & sit you up while manipulating your head movements. Very interesting.
