The system would use the carbon much slower if you added a battery sensor system. Put a medium battery with battery sensors on charged or not charged with a pin on each generator. It makes them cycle continuously and use the carbon slower. Might only need 1 train that way
Good video I like it. Also, thanks, you made me understand how to automate train. One day you should do an updated version of the "Dirt cheap nanocarbon".
On the Nanocarbon point, you are correct. I should update that since the design wasn’t great, and the tapper will also reduce the cost ever so slightly.
my gods man... and here i got a large b with two silos on each with two med gens and two portable smelters with 4 honey pots ... x10 and i thought that was crazy to get going.. then you come along with this vid... amazing lol man thats awesome
It was meant to be an explanation of how to leverage true flat for building. I didn’t want to go in depth for this one because that wasn’t the main idea.
I just build an extra large platform c with 3 silo b's full of generators, a normal silo for carbon storage and a medium storage full of portable smelters producing 324 power. Tappers are broken lol
I time everything I do nowadays. This video took 41 hours and 40 minutes to make in total, but building the actual thing only took 21 hours and 46 minutes. The reason videos take so long for me to make sometimes is because I'm a very slow editor (though this video only took so long because I didn't work on it for most of the time since my last upload). I hope to begin improving my skills soon so I can upload multiple times faster than I currently am capable of.
the trains would be quicker if you didn't have canisters on them surely? Instant bulk load and unload from medium storages rather than sitting there for 30 seconds loading/unloading
Since the system only produces the carbon at about 1 per second, the canisters are able to take them faster than it's being produced. I could have made it so they store up on the train station, but that wouldn't help much since the other train would get there before much got stored up anyways.
Isn't the volatile attactus 10s per organic, faster than honeypots now? i think it was updated recently. I may have the name wrong its been a few days since i checked, but i know there is a plant faster than honeypots now.
But bro, why not just use small generators instead of medium? Skip the whole carbon creation process entirely and you can get more power density that way.
The only thing that made this hard to create was having to move so much organic. If I had produced the same amount of power with only smalls, I would have had to move 4.5 times as much organic per minute to get the same amount of power.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer Ok, fair enough I suppose, but doing it that way you don't really need to "move" anything. Just load up for example a 1 or 2 XL Platform C's with Large Storage Silo B's and Medium Storage Silos. Just need to leave 1 empty spot somewhere within range of the auto arm outputs, and as soon as a small generator consumes an organic it will suck in any organic occupying that empty slot and your arms will immediately fill that vacancy for continuous full power generation. It's been a while since I played so I'd have to load up my save and double check the math, but I'm pretty sure you can get even more power using the same or fewer plants and arms, and no smelters, no rails, etc. If you take into account the power consumption of the smelters, arms, rails, etc., your "net" power gain is way higher.
Each tapper will be proportionally slower if they share a plant. For example, if you put three tappers on one plant, they will each be 3 times slower. This is how it works unless they've changed it since its release.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer That I didn't know..checking it out now. P.s. Thanks for your videos man.. 👏🏾 Have jumped back into astroneer recently...and your videos are really awesome and helpful....keep up the outros..love them..😁😁...👍🏾
I agree. I really think it wouldn't be to terribly hard for them to make some type of snappable floors and walls. You would still probably need true flat for enough land to have a large base with a flat floor, but anything is better than nothing.
First
correct
like 40th idk
Whoever needs to hear this, if you don’t want to drag items into your back back you can shift+ left click to auto pick up hope this helps!
So glad to see that you're back! keep up the good work!

Please keep making Astroneer content I just found your TH-cam the other day and your contact has helped me out a lot.
I built something exactly lime this that produces 100 power per second but I guess it's not so special now
100 u/s is still very useful. Certainly not lame.
100 constant energy is enogh to power 2 - 3 large atrox bases
Mine produces 13k… no that’s not at all a flex. That is me admitting that I spent WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON IT. Pro tip. Trade platforms
My power plant makes 900.0 u/s
When the world needed him most he came back!

Sorry but:
I have le nanocarbone
1:20 liking the video just cause he said that😂

your explanation is actually one of the best ones i've ever seen. well done, as usual. :)
Tbh you explained it pretty well, yeah its a conplicated ish process but if you understand some very basic coding its not much different
didnt know bro was a world class chef too
(because he COOKED on this one)
THE MAN IS BACK!!!
So glad your back I love your vids
The explanation is understandable, so good job !
Why TH-cam? Do you delay in showing me this awesome channel.
lol great video, i found the train part very funny
train part had me sad
get this dude to 100k
Great video.
I must have missed the "lame" bit though 😎
Welcome back bro
The sigma warrior has returned
nothing about the first 6 minutes was an explaination for "true flat" it however was a nice explaination of how the build tools work.

Yes they are.
Give that man a like!!!

why specify the honypot? all plants on atrox produce the same amount of organic.
I didn't know that.
He is fucking alive
How do you make a way up to your bases or do you use rockets?
I recommend landing pads for shuttles because ramps look bad imo. Shuttles are also far quicker.
Isn't the volatile attactus 10s per organic, faster than honeypots now? i think it was updated recently. I may have the name wrong its been a few days since i checked, but i know there is a plant faster than honeypots now.
I don’t know what that is, but it’s very possible it’s faster.
YES I LOVE YOU
It would be great if you added the console controls. Last time I checked there is no alt on my PS5.
I wish I could, but I don't know the console controls. Maybe there is a way for me to find them and start doing that, though.
@@worldclassjerk-epicgamer That would be great. Thanks so much. I love your content and can't stop laughing when you cough and choke 🤣😳
I know you probably didn't but i just wanted to ask did you do this vidio as inspiration from somones elses?
Nah, I just always liked medium generators more than everyone else, and when the tapper released, I finally had an excuse to use them in a bigger way.
