I’ve had the game for years, and have never gotten this far… the amount of time you put into these videos is insane
i got about 300 hours since 2016 and unlocked 1 planet but visited them all. the work this dude has done is almost unfathomable lol

Lol I played the game for a few days and now I know how it all worked out. Perfect. Time for next game.
I have a little over 500 hours in the game. Less than half that is on my main save, but I've also had some help on that save so maybe 300 hours on my main save? In that save, I have unlocked every research item, I have completed every quest, and I have unlocked every surface teleport location, every planetary core, the unknown satellite, and the sun room. I have at least 30 of each resource and over 100 for many of them. (Except aluminum is only about 20 at the moment. I need to go down in the caverns and grab some off of the extractor.) I have a separate gas extractor for each type of gas. I have extractors for most raw resources. I have a large storage area with partially automated smelting and partially automated extraction of resources from the train. I have a train to the core on Sylvia, with the quest depot, a depot by my base, a depot by my initial spawn point, and a depot by my astronium extractor. I want to add depots by all my extractors and maybe add a few more extractors. I have over 250K research banked, and over 300 astronium if I need more. I have items from several seasonal events (enough that I don't remember them all).
I would find it challenging and very time consuming to gather enough ammonium to make that much dynamite, so kudos to Let's Game It Out for a cool video.

Creators make "50 episodes" because they're making Let's Play content. They're not trying to play the game in one go. There's also content creators that make speedruns if thats what you like

i would like to let you know how much i appriciate the fact, that you condense what other youtubers would put into a 60+episode series into one glorious video. everytime you hit a bump that results in running back to base just to retrieve a single item or such, i expected you to say "oh well, im not gonna do that, see you next week" but then, everytime, you prove me wrong and deliver the most glorious of youtube experiences.

As someone said the ending is quite meh. The game is a sandbox at heart, you can build what you want, the ending is just there to give something to do and give a little backstory, if anything.

Oh for sure, that's a possibility, but building a space corkscrew or doing something like setting up a mile of cutting boards as dominos still takes an incredible amount of patience and time. If it were nothing more than a pile of dynamite I wouldn't be impressed. You can see the time and effort he puts in these videos - even if he did use cheats I don't think it would ruin the integrity of his style, ya know?

Just because he has some cheat codes to save some time and not waste his life crafting doesn't mean the video isn't enjoyable or that his creativity isn't far beyond what most folks do with the game. I was honestly excited to see that he had finally picked this one up.
This is one of the few games that has made me want to upgrade my PC because the Xbox one s struggles so hard to run it.
i think he switched to a creative world when he started to show off the dynamite. To build that sulfur gas and explosive powder factory would have taken a 100 hours to get the research and materials and to build it all. that being said it's like playing in minecraft creative and you still need to put in effort to place all that dynamite so he just eliminated the grind to show off the extremes of the game. Very funny to watch.

My daughter introduced me to your channel and although I don’t understand gaming, you make it understandable enough for me to enjoy, and your voice and narration is perfect for this. I get the feeling, that this video is one of the few times where Josh actually played the game kinda.... normal. spooky but cool at the same time.
Even though it's obvious that such creations take huge amounts of time and effort, but it wasn't until I tried astroneer myself that I truly realised just how hard to do some of that stuff!

I think he just has to put multiple titian graphics cards in his computer to you know run old save files
Normal person: I brought base building supplies to create new platforms with generators to power the weird shapes.
Me: I put a hundred nuclear reactors on my Large Rover and drove around and plugged it into the weird shapes.
Josh: I covered the planet in power cables, decided that was inefficient, and winched the power platforms to myself and ran to each shape.
Josh had the most efficient method and after justifying it every other players literally uninstalled the game because their efforts were useless
I have to admit, I watched in awe and dismay with a steadily constant facepalm... until you attached that seat sideways. Well played sir, that cracked me up.

His gameplay is all about sandbox and cheats.
The sims 4 gameplay for example. He obviously using the motherlode cheat there.
But even tho he's cheating or using the sandbox option, he shows us how things works in that game. It's kinda like promotion to that game tho. So people interested in that game.

The sad thing is, that's a pretty good summation of how disappointing the ending really is. The worst bit being, all of that work to unlock every single planetary gateway was pointless since you only need 1 surface node and the core of a given planet active to get the ending. And the ending doesn't change at all if you open all of them.
