Not enough people are mentioning the more important part of Biden's announcement today. He also initiated the process to have weed taken off the Schedule 1 list. That's a huge step towards decriminalization or legalization.
Exactly! Weed, Alcohol, Cigarettes should be in the same category and I don't partake in any of it. Simple Weed Charges is ridiculous.
And after that is done real research can be conducted and our veterans suffering from PTSD will finally get the best medicine they could have. I have PTSD. Until I used cannabis for my arthritis at 50, I had no idea it would finally allow me to deal with my PTSD and find happiness for the first time in my life. Thank you President Biden.

This is a pardon for a federal crime of possession of marijuana which there is no one in prison for such a thing. I can't believe people actually fall for this kind of thing.

It's not completely legalized in Canada. You can still be charged for possession over 30gm or knowingly be in possession of illegal weed.

Not really, possession is practically never a federal case. >99% of posession cases are municipal or state cases. The only time possession would ever be a federal case is if you got caught with it on federal land. So this is pretty much an empty gesture.

Two years ago in my state, (Oregon), we passed a measure that decriminalizes the possession of personal use of small amounts of all drugs, including cocaine, heroin, LSD, methamphetamine, and oxycodone. I believe we're currently the only U.S. state to have implemented this kind of policy so far.

19 states and the District of Columbia have already legalized the adult use of marijuana for recreational purposes. Don't think he can just legalize it on a federal level. It's up to each state to decide how they want to handle it.

Get marijuana taken off the Schedule 1 list, which is HUGE and would simplify things in states where pot is legal, since they can't use banks because of the federal laws.
And he's the one who built the dam with the 1994 crime law. It's not like he's a saint in all this.He did what was politically expedient then and doing it again now. after putting thousands through decades of hell, he's done something that might lift a tiny bit of the burden for thousands of families he has harmed directly through his actions.

As someone who works in the medical field, and uses legal, medical marijuana, it’s been extremely difficult to get a job in the medical field. It’s completely ridiculous. I don’t share my “gummie bears” with co-workers not would I ever be under the influence of those darned devil gummy bears while I’m working. Yet, I’m punished for it, when I’m able, capable, and more then willing to go back to medical workforce.
And this is what the Presidential Pardon was meant for, not "mates for rates"

The story of the guy running for office and denying his children hits really close to my heart. Reminds me of my father, father of 4 with 3 different women and denied I was his till I was about 10 years old. I think that it's possible Herschel Walker thinks that supervising the hospitals is going to the sidewalk and talking to the buildings and telling the buildings what to do.
