@@dropshot118 The net game is nothing like tennis at all, the drives are the shots that are most like tennis and translate well, though obviously good at one racket sport generally translates well to being good at others. However that's not what the original post was saying, don't think you read it!

Professional tennis must be really hard on the body so players have to change to this. It looks cheap… the racquet, the ball and all. Actually it looks like ping pong without the table. I can understand it is fun maybe. All sports with racquets are fun. Maybe I will give it a gol if For some reason or age I could not play tennis in the future.

its the same speed everytime- slow. Graf is known for one of the best forehands of all time and looks like a granny in thus sport

Yep, it is really fun to play, not convinced it is the best spectator sport, though isn't terrible. At least they are actually playing the game much more of the time, unlike tennis where half the time they are sitting down or asking ballboys for 5 different balls so they can choose the one they want to serve with when they eventually get round to it.
I suppose it's like any sport. If you've never played it and don't understand the rules it's boring to watch. Baseball, grid iron, Aussie rules - I find them boring! Not to say that it is - I just don't understand the game and hence don't enjoy watching.

Tennis is fun too obviously but it’s just not as fun if you can’t hit the ball properly. The learning curve is much harder. PB is a mixture of ping pong and tennis. You gonna tell people ping pong isn’t fun?

Shorter women take it in the chest sometimes. That's _far_ closer to the height where the ball is being aimed by an aggressive player with any skill at all.
Face shots happen far more often in midcourt when you partner mishits a volley with the edge of their paddle and it squirts sideways instead of forwards.
On some paddles, the angle of the throat will kick balls up into your face if you mishit the ball with one of those edges. This is also pretty rare unless you are in full dive mode swinging with desperation.
Indeed, it is dangerous to get hit in the eyes when you are not wearing protective eyewear. Back when I played squash, squash was ten times more dangerous in this respect. Excluding muscle pulls, pickleball is about the same danger level as stepping into your bathroom shower.
Just for entertainment, they are not 5.0 players
It’s just not interesting to watch.
Obviously not as interesting to watch like tennis but it is fun to play and not as grueling as tennis. It’s just a quick fun game. It’s really not that deep.

MLB much? Or how about the NFL, where the game clock one hour out of long broadcast slot, and much of that ticks down before the ball is snapped.
@@afterthesmash You are comparing downtime with actual play time - two different things. I totally agree that downtime is super boring and too long in MLB and NFL (although I'm not from the USA) but at least MLB and NFL are interesting WHILE actual play happens. This game here is even boring WHILE actual gameplay happens.
@@Antigegner If you take NFL footage and speed it up by 4x, it would also be as dull as watching pickleball. You wouldn't actually see anything much at all as the play raced along and you would yawn. I enjoy pickleball more at 1/4 speed than at full speed. The difference with the NFL is that they already play it slow enough to enjoy watching.
Just like ping pong is standing around? No one is saying pickleball is as a legit sport as much as tennis is but it is a fun racket ball sport (I know it’s a paddle). I get the sense that the snobbish attitude of tennis players is due to the rising popularity of PB in America.
