Looks like a really well designed kit with a good finish.
Your no BS, clear narration is a refreshing watch from all the other 3d printer reviews. Thanks for staying on subject and not drifting off into the weeds like so many other vloggers. Using a project to show the pros, cons, and steps of SLA 3d printing is a wonderful educational vehicle. As you transitioned from talking about the 3d printer to model building and painting I had to remind myself, Oh right this is a 3d printed model. That quality speaks more to your skills than the 3dprinter.
Great video Tom! Thank you for walking us through the whole process. I am also a big fan of Splash Paints. They are second to none.
Great video! I actually had a blast working on a very rare 1 of 2 prototype Ariel Atom V8. The one that was on Top Gear a few years ago. We converted the car to left hand drive, then back to right hand drive and I can honestly tell you this car goes zero to "kill you" in less than 3 seconds. The acceleration on the prototype V8 is really incredible! The model you made looks very similar to the V8 atom that I worked on, but ours did not have a center shifter, only flappy paddles. Yours also lacks the wing on the prototype... but overall very close! Thanks for the video!
The Atom V8 is one of my favorite cars of all time...
Cheers from Brazil.
Work of Art!!
What initially looked like layer lines is actually artefact from the printers LCD screen, it will most likely be seen at close to vertical surfaces. It will also correspond to the printers resolution, e.g. 35 or 50 microns (compare to 10 microns of layer height in this case). Can't really be amended except for anti aliasing and/or orientation of the part.
FINALLY! I've wanted one for years!
Nice work, very well presented. Very inspiring, thank you for sharing.
Wow! Very impressive!
That’s well designed kit, that’s a good way to build, dude.
very very, nice job. Only 3 days for this job, whoosh
Great build, congrats!
Awesome job 👏
Crazy!!!
Awesome!!! You have golden hands! Make a fully 3d printed model this is something! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Very cool. Nice work!
Interesting video, answered many questions I had about 3D printing in our hobby 👍 Awesome finished product, well done ☺️
3D printing really has changed scale modelling. Great model and nice build!

Very cool...................👍👍👍👍
Looks amazing. I guess if you were unsure of the wheels and tyres, you probably have some spares lying around in the parts boxes just as you did with the decals.
Interesting video!!! Very Cool Build!!!
love the out take at the end! It would give us all comfort if you would do a video of just outtakes!!!
Pretty Darn Cool Buddy. Have a Blessed Wknd.
Going with a resin printer for this instead of a conventional one was definitely a good idea, makes the print look much nicer
i'm trying to realise why this video got only 1,7k likes at the moment..... broh, this is the best video i've seen today
Very cool. I rendered one of these in Maya. And cheers to the Shmee reference :)
Fantastic color !!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love Shmee150's Senna.
Love ur channel
Instead of superglue for repairs, I prefer to use the same resin the model was printed in. Add a small blob and cure it with a UV torch.
this is insane. it's like a tamiya kit
Nice video!
And now I want to see 350z of tokyo drift
tip is use resin as a glue and use a uv torch ;)
this looks awesome. can you do maybe also a car that sits on the junkyard and looks rusty
Moncure 3D have some really great clear resin thar could be used for windows
Absoutely amazing work. Finally - fully printed kit - from 3d model to final result. It was very interesting to watch. Maybe you shuld build motorbike kit? H&D - they doesn't have clear pats very often.
Do you know of any motorcycle 3d kit files?
Me: I might get myself a 3d printer. Also me: sees how expe sive those machines all look.. Gives up.
It's an ambition, isn't it? Check how expensive they were 10 years ago and consider how much cheaper they are now!
Like ender 3 is a good starter printer and it's 200
ender 3 is a good choice, and a spool of plastic is 20-29 for a decent one
u can get a good fdm and resin printer for 200 each..
scrub up $200 and get yourself a printer and some filament
For tires you could also use black flexible resin, no need for paint then.
I know. Showed it in a recent video
so transparent filament what kind u use mate and how you get the smooth details?
After using Chitu for a year'ish, I finally forked over the cash for Lychee. Absolutely NO regrets at all!
As Always Amazing Video…
What’s the Glue Tip you are Using…??
Thanks Again
Came with the glue
Looks very good just wondering looking into getting one of these printers do you need a curing box or can you leave them in the sun or what would you recommend
You could leave them in the sun. A curing box is a bit more precise and powerfull
Leaving them out in the sun is a good option. I've left failed prints in he sun because I didn't care to much about them and I was surprised at how well they cured.
man... i wish i had a 3d printer
Do any of you know where I might be able to find a 1/25 or 1/24 scale model of a 1974 Pontiac GTO? .
beautiful print man! i noticed when you were attaching the front side markers that you applied the glue to the fender and when you came back with the lights that glue was almost dry and it looked like there was also some semi cured glue on the post. is that right? i picked up some BSi maxi and super on your recommendation but its really wet. the parts move around a lot and i find myself having to hold tings in place for awhile. but you always seem to be able to just set it, and it holds. are you using an activator, or maybe im using too much? regardless, i love watching and learning from you. its very helpful, especially the editing with the product info plus all your helpful tips. really great videos. thanks a lot
Less is more, and you could indeed try an accelerator, i do not use it very often.
@@TheScalemodelingChannel hell yea, ty
Tamiya, Revell, Italeri...in the Oven...jajajajaj
Nice work indeed... Please could you confirm if your print machine is 4k or more? Thanks in advance!!!
The Mars 3 is a 4k machine
The only downside to watching your videos is having to put up with the 15 second non skipable Barbie doll ads
Do you think that paint mixer would work with vallejo paints? You said you just put a metal rod in the paint and it mixes but on their website they mixed water with no rod in it.
The vallejo bottles are to small for the rod they supply
A lot of good information, but it is way ahead of me .
Can I use an iPad to print out the model or does it have to be on a laptop/PC like in the video ?
The slicing software for most printers is only for a computer
I noticed you angled the print up, would it help to twist it on the other axis (LF down, RR up)?
I don’t know. What would that help with?
@@TheScalemodelingChannel The one angle is to help with print lines, right? If so, my question is would another angle on the other xy axis help, too? Appreciate the content. I love the Ariel and have been wanting a resin printer for a while.
The angle is to have the best position for the part so it needs the least amount of supports
Hi, like your videos👏🏼! Your eye for detail and high grade finish are inspiring for me [also a Pietje Precies!]. Can you help me out on this one: everbody always talks about Isopropanol Alc. But where the 😱 can I buy IPA in Nederland🤔? Thanks!
www.amazon.nl/Höfer-Chemie-Isopropanol-Isopropylalcohol-ontvettingsmiddel/dp/B005J4BHMM/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=ipa&qid=1630747135&sr=8-5
The Scalemodeling Channel Hi Tom!
Woah woah woah.. back up... what's the name of your airbrush? Trigger style seems way better than my button style...
Nevermind.. didn't see it in the description.. :c
Hi at the beginning you said to add support where need, but how would one know where it's needed or not needed?
If a part is floating in the air and not well supported. Or a part that will be the base for a big piece that is going on top of it in the print
In Chitubox areas that need support are colored red if you are looking from the underside to the top.
The printing took longer than calculated by software, because it doesn't consider the movments. Only net printing time.
Can you reuse the supports? Or do you just throw them away?
Throw them away
⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍🏁
8:28 - Tread
why do you set it up diagonal and not just flat as it was?
Would't fit, and it prints with less supports oriented this way
Supports and sprues
Supports when you print
Sprues when you cast / injection mold. They allow the fill material to reach all details.
If however you were to take a printed model leave the Supports on, form a mold around the parts then use the lost-wax / lost-plastic casting method you would turn the Supports to sprues.
You mentioned "an over-nighter" for the printer. What happened to the printer?
It was printing all through the night
how can i design my own models for SLA printing??
3d modeling software
Give like also don't go with out like ok
doesn't the atom notmally have a front and rear wing, or is that just the mandella effect.
Some of them do. But those are the V8 models
nice build I wonder how long it will be before we just download a file from Tamyia etc
until then unless you are lucky enough to be given £1000 worth of printer and resin I don't think that it is viable for 99% of modelers
About half that. But still a big chunk of money. Agreed
I don't know why but the mirrors not having dedicated slots triggered me
wow, this is very cool, such models are very rare, let's more ...
look at my supra model in my profile !!
