I would love to see your daughters come into a video someday and help you. I'm sure you taught them how to cook too (or does the cook's kids go hungry like the shoemaker's kids go shoeless) It would be awesome to see them helping you with Thanksgiving or something where the family helps cook. Love your videos! I just thought it might make a good holiday special or something!

Someone mentioned a caramelized bacon, I found it once- they brushed the bacon with yellow mustard, then pressed it into the brown sugar. It was delicious, but a pricey side. However, you can’t beat bacon cooked this way and it stores well in the fridge and a quick heating in the microwave. Delicious!

You made me fix bacon this morning! ❤️ Just watching you made me hungry for a taste. I’ve always made mine starting out in a cold oven on a foil-lined pan, then bake 18-minutes or more @ 400°, not turning at all. I do blot mine on paper towels afterwards, and ALWAYS save that wonderful bacon grease! My husband puts his brown sugar bacon on the grill, for even more of a smokey flavor. We must be from the same cut of pioneers, as we seem to like all the same foods! Always looking forward to your next video….. ❤️

Thanks for showing us how you do yours. And the tip about the parchment paper is very helpful! I start cooking mine on 425 degrees and when it’s time to turn it I turn the temp down. I can usually fit a pound with the slices snuggled up to each other. I do about 385 degrees & don't turn it. Hopefully your video will get others to try it this way, it's so much easier!

I usually do 20 minutes at 375 on a foil lined pan. Most of the time my bacon is going into a recipe or its going into the freezer for a future recipe. I freeze the grease too to use for future recipes in place of oil or butter since its basically FREE! Drain grease from pan into a jar for future use. After bacon cools I place directly into container and place in freezer. It doesn’t stick together. I usually cook 3-4 pounds at one time.

I’ve been baking my bacon in the oven for years. I just cook for one and in the past I would take out one serving of bacon and cook it but then wouldn’t cook the rest and it would eventually go bad and I’d have to throw it away. Now, when I open a package of bacon, I cook the entire package in the oven but I don’t cook it until it’s crispy. I stop when it’s just a little bit Soft, take it out, drain it well on paper towels, and then put it in a large Ziploc bag and store it in the freezer. Then, when I want a piece of bacon… Or two… Or three… I can take out whatever I want and finish cooking it in the air fryer, the microwave, or the oven. I also pour the bacon grease out into a silicone ice tray, freeze it, and then store the cubes in the freezer in a Ziploc bag. I use them for beans and soup and so on.

If im having a morning where i can take my time, i bake my bacon in an oven set between 300 to 320 degrees and i usually get it done by 1 hour, but that hour gives my house the best aromatherapy ever! I do use foil instead of parchment and save the grease, then toss the foil in garbage and put sheet pan away since it is clean. 😊❤ i do flip it over at 48 minutes to assess how much longer it needs to go. Generally i get minimal shrinkage with the thick cut applewood bacon 🥓 😊

Thx for the foil tip instead of parchment. Easier cleanup is right up my alley! I'm a huge fan of non-stick foil. And I love the low & slow idea. Thx for your comment. 😊

This is how they do it at work and restaurants. Saw recipes for thick cut bacon put molasses and sea salt in sticks. Cook in FIREPIT. My mom always had cast iron pans. Saved bacon grease in COFFEE cans. Keep up the great work. Have A HAPPY Fall . ❤️😊😃👌👍🖐️🍁🍁🍁🥓🥓🥓

My sister sent me a recipe for chicken tenders wrapped in bacon then sprinkled with brown sugar some time ago. Mercy! So good! Try it. I don't remember the recipe exactly, but you can google it. I just do like I said: wrap the chicken tenders in bacon then sprinkle with brown sugar and bake. Oh, so good!!

My boys and I like our bacon (baked also) slightly undercooked, my husband wants his as crisp as a cracker; thanks for reminding me about the brown sugar, I haven’t done that in a long time (I do brown sugar and a pinch of red pepper flakes in mine). Great video!

Thank you! I had heard of doing this but no specific instructions. Now I know. You appear to have used regularly- sliced strips. I presume thick cut could be used, just longer cooking time? And this doesn’t splatter all over inside the oven? I
I have to try this. And the brown sugar version. Yum.

Melissa is right. There are different variations and I believe you do it the right way with less mess. You introduced the crumpling of parchment and the brown sugar variation which are keepers. My tip is there is no need to preheat the oven just place the pan in cold oven at 350 - 375 and the bacon fat renders slowly. Yes the times are off but and you will need to experiment. My stove pre-heats slowly which is a pain.
