I have an aussie. She's definitely jumpy.
I've worked with her to sit instead of jump. And she doesn't get pet until she's calmly sitting.
It has helped, but we still have lots of work to do.

Yes, my newly adopted 4 month old Siberian Husky is a jumper when excited…extremely excited. I try to catch his bursts of energy and run him around the yard or a walk around the neighborhood, which helps.

Yes I have a 10 month old Aussie and I am 6 months pregnant. I worry he will hurt me when he jumps on me as sometimes he will jump and push me from the back. Or he jumps playfully on my 4 year olds nephew and I worry he will hurt him.

My 7month old TT is a jumper. I don't mind her jumping on me except when she uses her teeth. But jumping on others is a no no. It's a long ongoing thing training her. She even jumped on mr policeman's clean trousers. Eek. That was embarrassing 😳

While trying to train an alternative behavior, you must not let the dog jump....so how do you PREVENT the jumping while he is learning the new behavior? All you advise is NOT to step on the leash. What SHOULD the trainer do to.precent the jumping?

Great question. You can predict which situations are likely to cause the jumping and make sure the dog isn't put in those situations before he can perform the alternative skill. He might need to be in his crate when guests arrive, he may not be ready to greet people you meet on the street, etc.
