I like the yoshi and the fact that it's almost always in stock and the value price. I personally have the full titanium spark racing exhaust which I loved so much I paid twice the price for it.
I love the stock exhaust. Not the looks, but the design, since it leaves the swingarm exposed and essentially hides any bazooka-type thing that most other manufacturers have hanging off one side. It's nice, low, symmetrical, and sounds awesome
I've got this exact bike (right down to the Dart windscreen, very popular add-on), and the exhaust is actually really neat even if it does look like cheap metal hammered by a child. First of all, the exhaust actually has two exit pipes. I didn't notice this until I was changing the oil. And secondly, the exhaust takes up very little room.
@@langhamp8912 Exactly. Yeah it's not the most attractive thing but it allows the sound to bounce off the ground and amplifies the tone of the engine. I am much more against a huge endcan hanging from the side of the bike like some other bikes. This one is unique in its own way as a stock bike.
@@otlndsh One of the racing teams (I think it was Yoshimura) mentioned in passing that more than half of all aftermarket motorcycle dollars were spent on exhaust systems. Not helmets, leather/textile suits, gloves, tires, brake pads, tire changers, but aftermarket exhaust systems.
How much did you ride it before the ecu flash? I bought a new MT-09 a couple years ago and the on/off of the throttle was so bad it was almost not rideable. Is that all gone with the flash? Was it the same way I describe when yours was stock?
The flash is worth the money for the decell braking alone, i rarely ride my Gsx-R600 at 10,000 rpms, but when i do..oh man 😂. Mines a 2016 and i still get some pops and bangs but not obnoxiously bad, I'd say just enough, thanks Chris.
below frame exhaust allows for throw over saddle bags without the burn, unlike the scramlber craze. nice work, love your vids. would like your tune on my motogzzu 850tt.....
These naked , retro , standard bikes are the best overall bikes imo.. looks and comfort with possibly up to the same power level as the sport version.. ive never owned a full back breaker as i like to ride full time when weather permits.borrowed a few over the years and before an hr i was loving it but done due to aches … especially now being older 😬👍🏼✌️
I can’t wait for a flash for my Transalp 750. I’m hoping it’ll open up to at least the Euro model hp ( for some reason the European model has 10 more hp)
Chris I need your advice for a 2024 ZX6R…steel or aluminum vortex sprockets? And what would be the best chain and tooth size, for just street riding Thank you.
Aluminum sprocket and chain size 520 you need to change the OEM front sprocket. This for the city works great..... even better if in the front you go up a tooth or two and 2 or 3 less teeth in the rear sprocket that way you get more speed on the top end or lower your gas mileage in normal driving.
I have a 23 Z650RS and I dont see any option in your ecu flash page. I know its basically the exact same as the Z650, just curious if its better to have my bike dyno tuned or just a flash done. thanks.
Been WAITING for you to do the XSR900!! Thanks Chris! I am definitely gonna bring mine down there from Charlotte as soon as I can. Question for anyone here: Why is it that these days nearly ALL the videos on TH-cam have Akrapovic exhaust?!? That brand was completely unheard of 20+ years ago when we all had sport bikes. Was SO happy to see Yoshimura in this one. Back in the day Yamahas usually had Vance n hines, Suzukis had Yoshimura, Kawasakis had Muzzy, and Hondas had several types but my CBR had 2 Brothers Racing exhaust. If you flip thru all the tuning or even review videos they are nearly all Akropovic. No idea why???
Because Akropovic is the only one that produces power. The others aren't worth very much except to make a bike louder. Like DJI in the drone industry, Akropovic dominates by a great deal, and of course they're priced accordingly.
@@langhamp8912 But this video shows that the Yoshimura makes power. In fact, it makes 3 to 4hp MORE than the same bike and engine with Leo Vince exhaust in Moores other XSR900 video. The LV with Chris tune only gained about 7hp at the wheel. This Yoshimura setup gains 10 to 11hp throughout the entire range consistently. I will be getting Yoshimura on my XSR. I dont want the same exhaust that everyone else is running...even if it does happen to make 1 or 2 less hp. I also prefer japanese exhaust on a japanese bike. Nobody would put American or European exhaust on a Honda car if they can afford it...they would use Mugen. Same concept applies on bikes IMO.
@@marcthomas5641 I would first look into just getting a flash and nothing more; that'd save you at least $1000 (10% of the cost of the bike!). What's more Japanese that OEM... I am planning to track my XSR900 this August (for its first time!) so I have to leave the exhaust stock as they do decibel checks. My previous experience with track days is that tires and even ballpark suspension settings makes far more difference than a measly 10 hp. Funny that on public roads you can run as loud as you want while on the track there's actual decibel enforcement. Speaking of tires, may I suggest the Rabaconda tire changer? It's less than half the price of an exhaust and arguably more useful.
An odd bike. Looks ok, it's a triple so sounds good with a pipe but two things.. It's well styled until they got to the seat and thought of crap we are out of time for the design, just chuck a seat on that'll do. The exhaust. The yosh looks miles better but it's still hidden away and still looks.. Like an after thought.
Got to be honest with you. My $400 m4 exhaust sounds better, especially the gurgles and decel pops. Spites fire too🤷🏽♂️love your channel tho.when I get my dream bike I’m riding to your shop to get a dyno tune. See the whole trip in my mind already
The stock exhaust is brilliant! I might buy an aftermarket if it was completely under the bike like stock.
Leovince LV race is an aftermarket exhaust system and it's completely under the bike like the stock exhaust

Agree entirely. Also easier to get the bike in & out of a doorway/small shed. Just needs to be made a bit less boxy
I have a 2023 with your ecu flash. Running SC-Project. It is super loud not for the faint of heart but man I love how she sounds.
How much did you ride it before the ecu flash? I bought a new MT-09 a couple years ago and the on/off of the throttle was so bad it was almost not rideable. Is that all gone with the flash? Was it the same way I describe when yours was stock?
Yoshimura sounds fantastic on the 900. Pops and bangs ... sound like firecrackers going off to my ear, lol.
Nice job.
Definitely a cool bike and the exhaust is definitely a visual and audible improvement!!! Sounds like your fan has a knock lol
Haha i was going to say the same thing, sounds like a pedestal fan handed down from generations 😂
Very good sound!
Great!

It takes out engine braking. By taking away the fuel cuts, thats why you get more backfires…
He even says it in multiple videos it takes away the dive from letting off throttle. So its not as jerky. Literally at 8:45
Love the retro look ❤
You need to get that annoying fan fixed .. clang clang clang lol must have a bent blade or a dent in the shroud around it. Love the vidos
So off-putting
Tween’s love the pops and bangs
🤔🤔🤔🤭😂🤣🤣😅😅
Bike sounds great Chris and awesome #’s too.
Yoshi sounds ok. Not too loud (I hate loud 'South Park' exhausts) and it looks better than the Leo. Still prefer a more hidden design.

I have the MT09 with a straight pipe and header. Very loud and crazy going 70.
I want this bike so bad

Come on your TH-cam Superstar get that fan fixed big bucks 😁🥃
Bro can you show XSR700 , the retro black and gold bike tune? Thx
It’s a cafe cruiser for chill riding not a super sport so the exhaust sounded fine to me 🤷
I can’t wait for a flash for my Transalp 750. I’m hoping it’ll open up to at least the Euro model hp ( for some reason the European model has 10 more hp)
The reason is California. They have ridiculous laws about everything. Thats what happens when you vote for and support liberals.
Nice👍👍👍👍👍👍

POPS and bangs while trying to slow into a corner with the engine still trying to go ?
He forgot to mention that aftermarket exhaust and tune will reduce the engine breaking which is a deal breaker for me and a lot of riders out there

That is basically a retro MT09, right?
Yes, but with better suspension.

@@karimchleh3349The rear suspension has more travel. 122mm vs 137mm. If you ride bad roads any extra travel is welcomed.
Yosh sounds way better than the Vince. 👋💀
Cool looking bike. Is that the same engine fitted in the MT 09 SP?
Yes.
that compressor is so loud lol
A little more timing and air box modifications make 120 or 122 hp easy

I would love to make a custom bobber style bike out of one of these.
Changing the seat is probably worth 15hp. Man is that seat ugly
I've been looking for years for a seat like a z900rs cafe .... Nothing! Just this clown hump....
Corbin makes a nice seat for this bike. I think its ~$400 though. I am keeping the stock seat myself...GREAT for wheelies.
I have the same bike and I like the seat with a tail tidy. I’m only 24 so I got clip ons and it’s still comfy.

Fart pipe??
Firstttttt
I saw the new colorway today.... That "red" and white .... Man it's ugly, the "red" is very tomato orange/red ... From gorgeous blue to ugly this year
The color threw me off at first too, but I saw it in person and actually liked it.
Hmmm...still doesn't sound good! it's to low, I would like it to come up a bit.
Sorry but the backend is so ugly
