The movie could have worked, if it left out the German sabotage plot, as if this were a spy thriller like 007, instead the movie could have been about Violet Jessop, a real person who survived the sinking of the Titanic and Britannic, that way there is history, and it works with the film's shoe-string budget.

Same, until i watched the Honor and Glory version of Britannic that it made me realize that the final plunge on the movie is unrealistic and decided to go for the H&G sinking which is more realistic, like the Britannic completely on its starboard side and hits the seafloor leaving the stern to dip down

They could've at least made Campbell playing the role of a nurse while secretly being a spy watching the German guy's actions. But no, they not only gave her a role of a simple "passenger" on a hospital ship's voyage which only had the mdeical staff and crew onboard but also bring children there. Additionally, I believe they could do so much more and so much better with the plot if they stayed faithful to the historical facts. Like, even establishing that the mine detonation still took place but she would mistakenly blame the German guy for detonating the ship during the sinking sequence, trying to get him only to figure out just before the final plunge that he didn't do that. She didn't see him coming for breakfast for the first time during the whole voyage on the 21 November morning so she could easily get the assumption from that. A revelation could be made that he was thinking of doing that but decided not to do just by the time the mine detonation takes place, and with him being somewhere below decks during that time the film could also be able to show the early sinking havoc. Then during the final plunge they could show the German guy helping her to escape and jump overboard while he could be crushed by a collapsing funnel or something, thus solidifying his redemption. Just, so much better could be done with the film if they just weren't so lazy.
As with your first video, I am inclined to agree with you on most of the points. To me a film regarding the history of the ship should have been historically accurate. Including the model and the set. I get that they had a limited budget but you should at the very least get certain things correct. Such as the date she was in Napels, why she sank, the way she sank, the events leading up to it and the disastrous mistake made by some of the crew who launched their boats too early and thus got hit by the propellers. In that scene when it happened, all boats were in the water but in reality it happened before the other boats were even lowered. I do however understand where some of the people pro movie are coming from. In a way its an OK movie to put your feat up with in a Sunday. That's its all it is mind. It's good to have a plot which is meant to grab you and the plot was not overly bad, however it still should be historically correct. That's the biggest issue I have with the film. At least with Titanic 1997, it was largely historically correct. Was a few points wrong but not extreme. I do have to disagree with the person who said the characters in Britannic were better than Titanic, I respect the opinion but I disagree. Yes. In Jame's Cameron's movie, everyone talks about how the dramatic even-keel sinking was inaccurate. But other then that, his movie was incredibly accurate. Watching behind-the-scenes doccumentaries and being a big Titanic Enthusiast-geek myself, I had to appreciate Jame's effort and the money that went into the movie. It was so well done that the fictional characters made for the highlight of the romance plot blended in so well, instead of sticking out like sore thumbs, even when interacting with the real characters, like Mr. Andrews, Bruce Ismay, etc. James did his research alright, trying to cram an insane amount of big and TINY facts about the sinking into the movie, making it really long on purpose to match the sinking duration of the real vessel, yet you still got many deleted scenes that were really cool, like the Marconi operator telling the Californian to shove it (cause he was struggling to hear the faint distant beeping from Cape Race and whatnot, so the nearby Californian literally came BLARING INTO HIS EARS, totally oblivious) the scene of Bruce getting on the Carpathia and being stared down in shame by the surviving children, and the comical scene of Molly "The Unsinkable" Brown asking for ice as the berg passed behind her lol. The movie was VERY expensive, all the sets basically made up what must've been about almost 50% of the real ship, and James went for every detail he could find, down to the smallest ones a lot have no clue about. He even included the light of the Californian on the horizon during the sinking (although, you need to up the brightness and use an Observatory-grade magnifying glass to remotely see it) and within my peak of Titanic interest, my deep studies into the many details of the Titanic, big and small, lead me to also find that the research put into the Titanic movie, and the quality of how the movie was built was incredible, and I wish more knew of all the tiny and big details James included, rather then focusing on the sinking style and marking it up as another Hollywood filmcrew juicing up the story. Another interesting movie fact: I learned from Historic Travels (which you should totally check out, that dude is amazing) that while the Britannic's Grand StaIrcase rotted away, the metal frame remained, but Titanic's Grand Staircase was non-existant, no trace of its wreckage within the gapping hole through the ship. That is because the way the Olympic Class Grand Staircases were designed, Titanic's Grand Staircase pretty much floated out when Titanic went deep underwater, and disintigrated on its desent, unlike Britannic, which sunk onto her side in shallow waters, not allowing for that to happen to her. Over-Achieving James Cameron used real blueprints of the Olympic Class's Grand Staircase, and designed the movie set in accordance. When they flooded it, the thing started to float up off the base, pinning some actors, and they had to quickly avert disaster. I dunno what they did to capture the flooding Grand Staircase scenes in the end, but props to them for finding a way, and those extras will forever know a taste of what may have happened on the real ship as it floundered... Overall, I rate that movie %100, and it is no suprise it blew up at the box office, and the song, "My Heart Will Go On" got popular for some time. Absolutely a masterpiece, especially for when it was made! Some modern movies are total blunders, but not Titanic! The Britannic film crew and cast should feel ashamed for their lousy and disrespectful movie...

If I were to create a proper Britannic movie, it would be about Violet and the ship, it would focus on Violet through Acts 1 and 2 and half of Act 3, the other half of Act 3 would be Britannic taking her final plunge
For most of scenes featuring the Britannic and other boats, they should have just used enlarged scale model ships that they film in front of a green screen for the sailing and sinking sequences. A method of scaling and filming which was done with _Titanic_ which came out 3 years before, and _Ghost Ship_ which came out just 2 years later, which while the latter is not the best movie ever, the main ship featured there; the Antonia Graza looks a whole lot more realistic when it’s shown than this film’s depiction of Britannic.

The film’s historical consultant, Simon Mills, who owns the Britannic wreck, had them remove his name from the credits. They rejected his advice at every turn and made a huge mess.

He even included the light of the Californian on the horizon during the sinking (although, you need to up the brightness and use an Observatory-grade magnifying glass to remotely see it) and within my peak of Titanic interest, my deep studies into the many details of the Titanic, big and small, lead me to also find that the research put into the Titanic movie, and the quality of how the movie was built was incredible, and I wish more knew of all the tiny and big details James included, rather then focusing on the sinking style and marking it up as another Hollywood filmcrew juicing up the story.
Another interesting movie fact: I learned from Historic Travels (which you should totally check out, that dude is amazing) that while the Britannic's Grand StaIrcase rotted away, the metal frame remained, but Titanic's Grand Staircase was non-existant, no trace of its wreckage within the gapping hole through the ship. That is because the way the Olympic Class Grand Staircases were designed, Titanic's Grand Staircase pretty much floated out when Titanic went deep underwater, and disintigrated on its desent, unlike Britannic, which sunk onto her side in shallow waters, not allowing for that to happen to her. Over-Achieving James Cameron used real blueprints of the Olympic Class's Grand Staircase, and designed the movie set in accordance. When they flooded it, the thing started to float up off the base, pinning some actors, and they had to quickly avert disaster. I dunno what they did to capture the flooding Grand Staircase scenes in the end, but props to them for finding a way, and those extras will forever know a taste of what may have happened on the real ship as it floundered...
Overall, I rate that movie %100, and it is no suprise it blew up at the box office, and the song, "My Heart Will Go On" got popular for some time. Absolutely a masterpiece, especially for when it was made! Some modern movies are total blunders, but not Titanic! The Britannic film crew and cast should feel ashamed for their lousy and disrespectful movie...
Plus if someone wants to learn something, it’s important to point out what’s correct vs false. Your research is great and it’s clear you put a lot of time and effort into your videos that pertain to the Britannic movie
If I were to create a proper Britannic movie, it would be about Violet and the ship, it would focus on Violet through Acts 1 and 2 and half of Act 3, the other half of Act 3 would be Britannic taking her final plunge

For most of scenes featuring the Britannic and other boats, they should have just used enlarged scale model ships that they film in front of a green screen for the sailing and sinking sequences. A method of scaling and filming which was done with _Titanic_ which came out 3 years before, and _Ghost Ship_ which came out just 2 years later, which while the latter is not the best movie ever, the main ship featured there; the Antonia Graza looks a whole lot more realistic when it’s shown than this film’s depiction of Britannic.

The film’s historical consultant, Simon Mills, who owns the Britannic wreck, had them remove his name from the credits. They rejected his advice at every turn and made a huge mess.
Suggestion for content: The Lusitania movie is another Titanic knock-off, but at least the creators read some books first and respected the material. It’s not bad.

Honestly the only thing I like about the Britannic movie was the title sequence with the old black and white footage with the music. Other than that though, that was really the only part I found good.

I know how badly inaccurate it is, but I like how they got creative and changed the way Britannic sunk for the plot. They surely were creative, but the most important parts were the stuff they got wrong. The acting too was bad, but I think its okay. as a titanic enthusiast myself ,id like to say that staying true to the real events in a movie is crucial for the movie in my opinion. you are retelling. a story about a real event, you can have fictional characters like rose and jack do as as you wish with those characters, but you still need to make sure the real event plays out as close to how it really went down as possible. Would you believe me if i told you there was a titanic movie where theres a literal RAPPING big black terrier?

I think it's okay. Yeah there are lots of inaccuracies (some of which are just down right stupid) and the story is simple, but I just remember there was hardly anything on Britannic at the time. And given this is the only movie to highlight another ship of the Olympic-class, that's probably why it gets brownie points.

Britannic is one of the worst films. None of the story in the film follows the actual story of HMHS Britannic. And you can tell with the filming set they really went for the bare minimum. BTW Britannic wasn't hit by a torpedo she hit a mine and sank. They even got the deaths of the individuals in the lifeboat that got chopped by the propeller wrong. It wasn't on the starboard side it was on port. How about directors actual study the history of these events and actually follow the stories. I refuse to watch this piece of garbage. As for the German sabotage plot, how many times have we seen crap plots? It literally kills the whole thing. This was a really poor attempt to cash in on Titanic mania which started in 1997 after James Cameron's blockbuster film. For lovers of the film, hate this comment all you like but truth is truth. Maritime Historians and entusiasts laugh at this. Just like we laugh at Titanic 2 which might as well be called the end of the Queen Mary because that's the ship used for the set, along with its cheesy plot. And the new horror movie called Titanic 666, again filmed on the Queen Mary, with a stupid plot, bad acting, and horrible movie magic. Directors can do better than this.
