While I Cry - Mike Nesmith from “Monkees Present The Mike and Mickey Show” next to last concert

We ran into The Monkees band members after the show and they agreed - this presentation from Nez was emotional and deeply touching - more so than previous dates - he was feeling it was almost over - The Monkees experience in his life. WTF - this is the most sincere honest emotional live performance I have ever been blessed to witness. Thanks for being Mike Nesmith. I am in tears, happy-sad tears. Michael was so eloquent here. I am very happy that he came full circle and finally was able to see through the fans' eight- (or four-) year-old eyes and hearts to understand even a little bit why he and the Monkees meant so much to us. And how ironic that Michael left us just 3 weeks after the final concert of the Farewell Tour. Mission accomplished, Michael, God speed. I am happy for you and know you are well on the Other Side, but how sad we are that you've departed this physical plane. You will be sorely missed here, brilliant soul that you eternally are. Much love to you, Papa Nez, and prayers for your family and closest friends that they may all be comforted. Thanx for the awesome ride, and your wonderful legacy that you have left us all. Thank you for posting this. I remember watching the Monkees when they came out in 1965. Mike was always my favourite Monkee. His humble, reserved coolness struck me even then as a 6 year old. His speech here has touched me. I am so glad to have seen it.

Mike really ended life in a beautiful way. I can't believe he did this considering his health and no one would have been sore at him for saying, "I can't." We all loved him even when he was busy and couldn't reunite for past tours but he never left us and we never left him. I'm so happy he got the chance to go out with Micky and see how loved he was but we all know he was giving us a big act of love too... no way that tour was easy for him but he did it! What an amazing man and I hope he is just filled with love and as proud of himself as he left his fans feeling about him! MIcky, Davy, Peter, and Mike are all incredible people! Long Live The Monkees!

Probably one of the realest, purest moments ever on a stage...but what was it that he was trying to tell the 5 and 8 or 9 year olds...that they would feel hurt and pain etc.? I don't totally understand his speech or the song, I guess.

My favorite musician since 1967, I was later one of those looking through the used and cutout record bins to find Mike's First National Band and solo albums. While I have seen the Monkees about thirty times over the years, I saw Mike live five times beginning in 2014, but was covided out of this tour. This remains among my favorite of his songs along with Don't Wait For Me, St. Matthew, and Listen to the Band
