- Robert Michael Nesmith (December 30, 1942 - December 10, 2021) was an American musician, songwriter, actor, producer, and novelist. He was best known as a member of the pop rock band the Monkees and co-star of the TV series The Monkees (1966-1968). Nesmith's songwriting credits include "Different Drum", which became a hit for Linda Ronstadt and the Stone Poneys.
Instant Replay is the seventh studio album by the Monkees. Issued 11 months after the cancellation of the group's NBC television series, it is also the first album released after Peter Tork left the group and the only album of the original nine studio albums that does not include any songs featured in the TV show.
God bless this man who brought such joy to my life.
Amen to that
Last show of their Farewell Tour. Sad he's gone, but what a great way to go out.
Agreed
Absouletely beautiful, thanks for posting this.
It's has been a week since we lost him and RIP Mike Nesmith 1942-2021 farewell to you mike Nesmith and say hello to Peter and Davy for us!! Good Bye to you and thanks for the memories and I never forgotten about you mr. Nesmith!
He was my favorite Monkee and was a great singer, songwriter, actor, musician and entrepreneur. He knew his time was short, but he gave all he had left into finishing the last tour.
RIP NEZ!
Well deserved standing ovation 👏
ABSOLUTELY!
Very emotional performance. An emotional experience for this fan too, whose first ever rock concert (July 1967 at age 11) was The Monkees, Lynne Randell & The Jimi Hendrix Experience at Miami Beach Convention Hall.
Amo the Monkees
Seem's Mike knew something already....age don't seem to fit him...gone to soon really
And as everybody knows what his mom
Was responsible for inventing !
Mike was always down to earth. Love his song, While I cry. Linda Hart
I love this man. I will always love his song Joanne, such a beautiful song, I play it regularly. Rest well Michael, God has you now. Damn I'm gonna miss this man. 😮💨
I saw them perform at Town Hall in NYC. At the end of their first set, which was pleasant valley Sunday, I stood up and applauded. I pointed right at Nez and he pointed right back at me with a big smile on his face! So I can say even though I never met him, I had a moment with Mike Nesmith before he died
I saw Michael and Micky in NYC just a few weeks before this concert. Could tell Michael was feeling weak but he and Micky still gave a great performance. RIP.
Love u mike ... Thank u for sharing your gift with all of us...
Imagine how Micky must feel...? Blows my mind how sad he must be...
He looks so frail here. However, he gave it all he had, and for that, we thank him.
I honestly don't know why this happened during a global pandemic last year though
RIP sir.
Thanks for the memories, Casey.
Thanks Shawn!
So sad to see 3 out of 4 Monkees gone..It has to be hard for Mickey.
If anyone deserves to be in the R & R HOF it's Mike and his colleague Monkees. But they won't find themselves there because the jerks who run that organization show everyday all they care about is their own opinion and their own crappy taste. The Monkees have proved themselves to be among the best in the business and certainly better than most of the clowns who are in that hall to begin with. Their music, legacy and Popularity will outlive the hall itself.
We love Mike so much
Stunning. Rip sir, and thank you for the music
Did he ever say who he wrote this about? 😢. Miss you...
He we was thinking of his fans and the relationship between them
I have no words speechless
Forever loved
so sad he is gone, but there are so many great musicians now gone ....farewell Mike.....
😭
Thanks for posting this video.
No worries!
I saw this tour in Milwaukee. Hard to believe it was such a short time after that he was gone. So glad I went.
Coco dolenz singing back up?
Love you, Nez ❤️
God bless him!

Never met Nez but have had dreams about him for many many years. Pleasant dreams
Not meaning to be overly critical but you really should have stayed zoomed in on him while he was singing. I know you're trying to show the rest of the band but this was an extremely emotional song and his expressions reflected that. Also, at the end it was nice to scan the audience and show the well-deserved standing ovation but unfortunately by doing so you missed Micky hugging him because he was crying. Again, sorry about being critical. Just my opinion. Thank you so much though for posting this.
Noted.
Wow takes a lot of nerve to criticize someone who takes the time to post a video for the rest of to enjoy. How petty. Next time do everyone a favor and keep your Comments to yourself unless it’s to say “Thank You”. Wow the nerve of some people!
I have watched this 200 times or more, and always shed a tear... The words of the song are gorgeous, the melody is meaningful and precious. Then you add in the knowing of his soon earthly departure... no one could watch this, while I cry, without feeling something
