Standing In The Rain acoustic demo excerpt
In early 1973 Tommy Bolin approached his friend Michael Drumm, and asked if he could co-sign on a loan for a sound on sound reel to reel deck so he could record song demos. Michael had credit - Tommy didn’t and without a moment of hesitation he said yes, and Tommy then was able to create his own mini recording studio in his home that turned into this demo and so many others that wound up being released by the Tommy Bolin Archives which Michael was the cofounder of with Johnnie Bolin in 1995. More recently he created this video with found super 8 film footage from Boulder back in that era.

Tommy Bolin’s guitar solo from Burn - Deep Purple at Budokan in Tokyo!

Tommy Bolin’s guitar solo from Burn - Deep Purple at Budokan in Tokyo! I am sorry for all the haters of this. By Tommy’s playing in Buddakan, his arm had pretty much recovered - when I listen to this I hear a guitar solo - I hear something that does not sound like what all the comments always say about this show - people are buying a myth - hearing a story and they can’t even hear that this is ...

Leland Sklar on Tommy Bolin

Leland Skar on Tommy Bolin. We focus here on how great Tommy Bolin was. And Tommy Bolin was a human being so he wasn’t perfect but sometimes regardless of any issues it is important to just focus on what’s really good and that’s what we do here. Thanks to youtube.com/@VRPRocks

Tommy Bolin Archives has released dozens of songs that were a reflection of Tommy using the reel to reel sound on sound deck he had to put down ideas - flesh out arrangements - and get familiar with a song idea so when he went to the studio he would really have a clear idea to what he wanted to. Tommy, of course, had no idea that he would pass in 1976 and that demos would wind up being released...

Ain’t Nobody’s Fool by Tommy Bolin and Friends with vocals by Archie Shelby. From one of the great live guitar explosions in the history of recording guitar explosions! Tommy was at the top of his powers and exhibiting inspiring dominance during the set at Ebbets Field in Denver, June of 1974 with his good Sioux City friend Archie Shelby singing! This song in a rare display of his great vocal c...

This is exciting stuff! It is April 1971. Tommy Bolin had met avant-garde jazz flautist Jeremy Steig through Eddy Kramer during the recording of the Zephyr - Going Back to Colorado album in New York City. They struck up an immediate connection based on exploring the far corners of their musical minds. Tommy had not yet turned 20 years old. He had Jeremy come to Colorado to do a series of gigs i...

An excellent band... Tommy Bolin on guitar... and Candy Givens on vocals... she sang brilliantly!!!
Where is she buried?
Deep Purple management did the band no favours. After 30 concerts in the US. Instead of having a break they did a short tour of England. The band were exhausted. No wonder they fell out amongst themselves. Lord and Paice made the decision to disband. Coverdale who was very upset left the band unaware of Lord and Paice decision. Hughes was in a mess and took years to sort himself out. Sadly we lost Tommy in December 76 aged 25. A very talented musician was lost at such a young age. I like Deep Purple but prefer the line up with Coverdale on vocals. The guys in the band today are only interested in their own history.
A great atmosphere at Wembley. Deep Purple MK4 was a good band in my opinion. Its a shame they didn't take a break and go again. They just split up after the tour.
Dudes a metronome...one of the best backbeat in industry...similar vibe as Porcaro or Keltner...band guy but also a studio ringer
Fey comes across as the human equivalent of the bacteria found in urinal fungus.

Amazing Tommy Bolin!Amazing Band!
Hermoso
👍👍👏👏👍👍👏👏
I love a lot of Tommy's songs and I put this one up high on my list!
Tommy was a good friend
This was an Incredible Tribute to Our Beloved Tommy Bolin❤️I’ve never seen this, seen a snippet of his funeral 😢But this was a Special video showcasing Everything that Tommy Is and Will Always be.. A Force to be Reckoned with and A Diamond in the Rough.. A Beautiful Soul and Definitely a Great Virtuoso 🤗Rest Peacefully Tommy, You are Truly Loved and Missed😢💔❤️
The long beach concert musical recording
Tommy's playing was so tasteful and emotive, yet powerful with soul to burn.
Tommy's genius and magic transcends any form of duplication, he was a unique musician and songwriter.
Tommy sounds disinterested in the majority of his live stuff with Purple. Tommy's magic transcends being paid to play other people's tunes.
Who got into the HoF, Tommy or Joe?
너무멋진 그의 기타연주 그는 6현의 마술사였다 .R.I.P
Tommy on a P90 loaded Les Paul? Before he switched over to Strats, I guess. He could play anything and sound good. Candy was sexy as hell and had a set of pipes on her second to none!
Gotta love the magician he was on guitar
Thank you for the unsegued intro drums! Great mix! ...but why is it edited at 2:05?!?

Oh, hell no.
благодарю за отличную запись.
Glenn Hughes whooping and hollering was one of the low points of all performances during Mk4's world tour. Tommy Bolin RIP
Love it...TY
Candy Givens was great harmonica player! Why aren’t they talking about her in harp circles ?! I guess I just don’t know
What I loved about music then was the band would take you on a drive down the road of escape from your place of distress or happiness......it didn't matter you were just riding along..... Rare Earth, Grand Funk,Iron Butterfly, T. Rex, ELP, Beautiful Day, Jimi, Big Brother and Janis, Grateful Dead....... I could go on forever because they were inspiring and they were good for the BRAIN. I want to add a band not many people know about but well worth checking out....MARK ALMOND... seventies Frisco band
Deep purple suspect career move?
if he had had all the proper support, his talent deserved they’re never would’ve been a James Gang that never would’ve been a Deep Purple
Tommy Bolin !!!
Здоровский дед 👍
Deep Purple seemed to be well received in Aus and NZ. New line up promoting a new album. Indonesia was a disaster losing a roadie. The rest of the tour was hit and miss. Band became messy with overdoing the solos. Shame as MK4 could have taken the band forward. Deep Purple today is an Ian Gillian tribute band. I prefer David Coverdale's contribution to Deep Purple and this is when I became a fan of the band.
Terribly underrated, ripped off by many "name" players even down to the way he looked. Joe Perry for one, should pay royalties to Tommy Bolin. Joe Walsh felt so bad about ripping him off he suggested him to the James Gang ( probably because he stole part of Tommy's brilliant band ENERGY) and still to this day he's million times better than ANY player today. The Ultimate....indeed
How good were Energy!!
Hey Tommy, it's 2024 and we're still listening to your tunes brother.
right?
👍👍
Tommy The Ultimate!!
Tommy was a great guy. May he rest in peace.
Tommy Bolin was special for sure. He could have done so much more. Even so look at what he left us! A LOT of great music in a short time. One of the lesser known greats. If you arent familiar check him out!
Tommy Bolin - Champion and Legend
Great Bass player
Awesome perspective by one of the greatest musicians talking about one of the greatest musicians! ❤❤
멋진 어쿠스틱 버젼 감사합니다 🙏😊
Nice archive ! Perfect study of marching powder !
The evolution and creative growth of Tommy's playing has always fascinated me...he was a true original. Thanks for sharing this. Too bad he he had poor management and no one to guide and advise him...and showcase his talent. RIP Tommy
Couldn't agree more!
Beautiful! Thanks for posting.
Thank you too!
Thank you for sharing this with us! ❤😊
You are so welcome!
Awesome! I have tons of rare Tommy stuff, but I do not believe I've ever heard this home demo? Fricken killer!
One of the best albums no one has heard of
