I bought the DDJ 1000 in November 2020 and hand on heart I am literally on it every spare minute I have. I absolutely love it. Fantastic bit of kit. Great video guys 👍🏻. All your hard work is appreciated.
When I bought my DDJ-1000 . I did so much research. It was like studying for an exam. I wanted to make sure i got the right controller for that money. I'm very happy with my choice.
The DDJ -1000 is a top notch piece of equipment. I absolutely love mine. It's hard to convince your wife that your buying a 1,400 dollar mixer. .. I'll miss her
....and here I am with a Roland DJ-202. To be honest, I'd be more than happy with a Pioneer DJ-800 or a Roland DJ-707. At the same time, with this entry level kit, I'm getting 100k views a month on my mixes so I guess its what you do with your kit more than what you have (like everything in life)
Hi if I may I would like your opinion. Do you like Record box or Serato ? Why and why not one over the other? I've read that Serato has some cool mashup functions in the software that are excellent. Finally would it be better to get mixed in key separately?
Still debating on DDJ 1000, I’m actually hoping that Denon releases an updated MC7000 with the jog wheels from the SC6000, paddles from the Rane one/Numark platinum FX and 4 channels.
Unfortunately not happening, denon have said that their intention is purely in standalone and separate dj decks, I hoped so too but it ain't happening.
@@digitaldjtips thanks yes that one is very hard to find is there a big difference between motorized and jog wheels scared to make the switch and pioneer ddjsx3 about to make the move on that
Bought a platinum fx that was a good starting point for learning. knowing full well next step would be 'club style' gear for better house/techno beatmixing and learning on gear you would meet in the club/bars in europe. but here in denmark prices are very different a PIONEER ddj1000 is 1.536,dollars while a Pioneer Pro - XDJ-XZ (that is the one i want) is 2.697,7dollars at that point i might as well get a second hand full on modular club gear and still save money. thanks for the help making me decide phil. really enjoy your balcony beats,
You can only add them on in the sense of plugging them in to a spare channel. Most software nowadays has "Ableton Link" which will sync up the timecode between production gear and DJ gear, worth checking that out.
I bought the Prime 2 when it was first released as I wanted a stand-alone controller that didn’t rely on a laptop but was bitterly disappointed with the Engine software and flipped it within 2 weeks of buying it....I have since picked up the Rane one but I am using it with my iPad running Djay Pro app.. Djay Pro isn’t perfect yet but they have made massive In strides… I’m totally happy with the Rane One..
The professor on deck, hello Phil from sunny Miami✌ Thinking of purchasing the XDJ-XZ because it has a send input where I can connect a DJS-1000. For the sake of saving money, if I purchase the Rekordbox DDJ-1000, will I be able to hook up a DJS-1000 to the unit ?
So happy I made the right choice in buying the DDJ-1000 rekordbox. “Buy it nice, or buy it Twice”. Took it to the bar foe a friends 50th Birthday. Hadn’t DJ’d in over 6 years and had a great set. Im hoping since DDJ-1000 is the best selling controller… ever. Im hoping a MK2 doesnt show up for at least a few years.
Phil, not sure you answered correctly on the Denon Prime 2. I have both a DDJ 1000 and a Prime 2, both awesome bits of kit. The Prime 2 certainly is supported by Virtual DJ and I believe also does Serato ? So probably should have been included.
I thought the Denon would have won...All good contenders. I personally like the the Prime 2, a more manageable piece of kit than the 4 or the Pioneer. also best Pioneer i would have XDJ XZ above the others. But great Vlog Phil, Whats on the cards next week? Can we do replace a crossfader on your controller? as mine has broken on my NV after not using it for over a year
I have the ddj-1000 amazing controller. Then later purchased the Prime4- it's a great standalone unit however it's taking me a while to trust the Engine software - still work in progress but getting better.
Yes it's certainly the weak point at the moment however it's come up massively since it started and it shows no signs of development slowing down so it'll only get better
The SX3 isn't over $1000, it's a good option as well just didn't make the cut, we haven't spent much time with the RXZ but it seems bloated and not worth the money
Oh Goodness! These are all mouth wateringly great! Can't believe Steve's ddj 1000 isnt his own! 😂 This review settles my dream buy - it is the ddj 1000 ❤️❤️❤️
It's really the exact same which you'll realise soon enough (unless you have to keep justifying the cost of the CDJs to yourself that is), if you can DJ and understand the fundamentals you can DJ on anything
keep your 1000s and with your new cdjs connect them via ethernet port (with a hub) to your 1000s, switch your toggle to LINE and now you have a full setup just like the clubs
1000s w/ 3 CDJs for my home setup to keep my hands warm before shows since 1000s are a standalone mixer its basically a DJM900 Remember peeps, if u have DDJ1000s and u can afford to get CDJ 3000s/ 2000nexus / xdj700s / 1000mk2s / you can ethernet port em all to your 1000s with an ethernet hub (NETGEAR 4port Hub is what I use) cause the DDJ1000 is a standalone mixer, meaning the middle mixer part is completely STANDALONE and thats a full setup right there

Yes good first choice
Great review again Phil. Sorry missed your live but got carried away listing to my Mixtapes in the Gym😎
Good on you!
Hey Phil, do you think the Rane one controller is the best controller for Scratching?
Yes
I thought so as well. Keep up the great work mate.
I have both the DDJ-1000 since July 2020 and just bought an XDJ-XZ about a week ago. I love both!!!!
Nice! You're well kitted out :)
What would be the best controller among all of those if you like to add things such as Akai MPC or a N.i Machine? Or is that not even possible?
You can only add them on in the sense of plugging them in to a spare channel. Most software nowadays has "Ableton Link" which will sync up the timecode between production gear and DJ gear, worth checking that out.

Me too :)
Glad to hear it!
Or the Rane Four with motorized platters in the same color scheme as the Rane One.
Poor Dj808 just does not get enough love. Its a phenomenal piece of equipment!
No longer available as far as we can tell, May be wrong on that though
Do you think Dennon will update the prime 4 anytime soon ?
i would think the next one will have full size jogs and x1850 style mixer
Not sure on that one Chad, the Prime 4 is still doing well for them

The XDJ-XZ is installed in several venues in my local market. Far cheaper than a DJM/CDJ setup
Yes we’ve heard a bit of that
Can you please give the prices of the units.
Best thing to do is google them to find accurate prices in your region :)
What about Pioneer DDJ SX3 or Pioneer DDJ RZX?
