It's coming together nicely, remember even full time mechanics take time to get things done and they get to do this every day. You already have a gearbox change down to minutes, thats wild😂 Takes me a day to get my 1200 bug engine out, another day for gearbox out, another day for gearbox in, another day for engine in.😢 Thats without fixing anything! If I win lottery, 4 post lift is No.1 on my list.😂 I need to work on my Dads 65 1500 deluxe estate thats not run in 3 years. No ignition light comes on dash, but it tries to turn over for a second,I think voltage regulator is wired wrong.
Thanks John, I hadn't thought about it like that. With things being busy outside of the garage I feel like I'd been abandoning Tina more recently but I have some motivation to address so problems that I've found over the last few years whilst I'm at it. I do like a bug, what's the 1200 like? The things I'd do for a bit more space and a 4 post lift! 😅 I'd be interested in hearing more about your Dad's estate though! Sounds like it's still running the Lucas dyno if it's got the regulator - I've spent a fair bit of time going through the wiring on mine so if you have any questions just ask 👍
Do a leak down test . So much better and gives you a better idea of where it’s leaking, eg exhaust, intake, rings plans or head gasket. The kits are really cheap to buy now
@@piratedjradio I'm sorry to hear that, my Dad went through similar 20 years ago having 2 in less than 6 months. It took some time but he was back on his feet after rehabilitation etc. I hope that you can get the help you need with yourself and your mk1 though.
Keep plodding on, you will get there.
A great way to end my night shift with watching you driving the Cortina. Congratulations on the success of your first drive!
Thank Warren, I'm glad you've enjoyed watching tina. 👍

That's a good idea, I do need one for other jobs sp I'll look into it 👍
125psi thats good,my hillman is around 80 on all.
Crickey! Maybe a turbo would help? 🤔
Normally 125 psi would pass but when the others are running 150 it's not right- it can be fixed though
My wife likes your glasses ❤
Thank you! They're budget ones from specs savers as I have form for wrecking glasses! 😀
I wish i could get my 62 mk1 consul cortina restored
