    I’m glad to see you back big al! I grew up watching your videos and you were the main reason why I decided to become a tuner. Dynoflash ftw bro!

    For when you were comparing to Teslas and the map. Somebody made a phone app that has a map and tells you where all the E85 stations are. It's crowd sourced data so it's probably pretty accurate. Could be very helpful for somebody who lives on E85.

    Great explanation! Have you considered coming back to the Subaru game now that EJs have come so far with the closed-deck blocks, 1/2" hs, pinned mains, fire-lock gaskets, etc? These motors can handle a lot more power now compared to 10 years ago... It's crazy.

      Very tempting indeed but being able to run 850 whp on my 997 turbo for the last two years without having to do anything but change the oil does not make me long for Subaru again. I loved Subaru but if I ever got another it would be a 100% bone stock 05 - 07 STI and I would leave it that way as a future collector car. I predict that in 20 years there will be few stock Subaru STI cars left

      @@Dynoflash True. I was just telling my friend that these cars will be collector items and worth some money down the road.. especially stock. Very rare.

    Currently running a hyperflow tmic on 20g 10cm^2 stock location 2005 STI. Do you think it is hindering performance compared to a fmic? This is on canada 94 octane at 23 PSI. Love these videos. Keep it up!

    • @Dynoflash
      @Dynoflash  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Halo. You have a great intercooler. The problem is it’s location. As they say sometimes location is everything. The tmic is going to give you faster boost response and less lag between shifts. However, because it is essentially a huge metal object sitting on top of the turbo it is subject to picking up “heat soak” rather easily - especially at slower speeds. I would think that you would do much better with a quality fmic which sits out in cold air and also offers a longer path in which the charge can interact with the ambient temps and cool down. Since the air flow is back to front on the hyper flow and the distance is very short it is also less able to reduce the charge temps. If you insist on using a tmic intercooler I would suggest water or meth injection to help to further cool the density of the charge. Your turbo is one which needs the best intercooler you can afford. Thanks for your great question

      @@Dynoflash Thank you for the reply. I am also running a PTP turbo blanket and grimmspeed heat shield with gold heat reflective tape on the inside. I haven't ran the car in hot weather yet so I don't know how much it will heat soak. I guess I will wait until then to see if it gets bad. I am loving the response on this setup.

    • @Dynoflash
      @Dynoflash  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@halo3sn1p3r Those measures will certainly help control the heat soak slightly - you can also add ceramic coating to the turbine housing, up pipe and down pipe. At the end of the day the fmic upgrade is best suited to stock turbos which really are not up to the task of filling the larger and longer runs of a fmic. Any larger turbo should have a fmic to get optimal results. As I said before alcohol of methanol injection with some small jets installed inside the end tank of the tmic will help with the lowering of the charge temps significantly

    Let’s say that you’re car is turbocharged making 750hp, how much more hp on average can you gain by switching to e85?

    I have a supercharged e46 which is virtually impossible to route a intercooler without a ton of customization, limiting the amount of boost I can make safely. Would I be able to increase the boost if I used e85? I've been considering completely converting to e85 with pump, injectors and so on.

    Does E85 deteriorate stock fuel lines and tank over time?

    • @Dynoflash
      @Dynoflash  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. Depends on the car and the year built. Remember most fuel at the pump today is E10 which will damage an older car. Modern cars are made from materials which are generally ethanol compatible. However ethanol is very corrosive especially when it absorbs a lot of water. What kind of car are you driving?

    • @Dynoflash
      @Dynoflash  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Certainly C85 is a lot more consistent it is the same tank to tank so you can tune closer to the edge but it is a bit harder to obtain as it is usually not provided at the pump and also more costly. Certainly a good option for people who can store a drum at their home and who don’t drive that much.
