Just bought a 2024 Roscoe 6 last week and am absolutely loving it so far. This video is why I bought 1 so thank you for making your videos
Congrats!! And glad I could help :)
Keswick green is sick
Ordering mine tomorrow morning. Thanks for the run through.
Congrats!!
❤❤❤ thankyou so much broo
Of course!
just bought mine today. Still in my flatbed of my truck. Got it in that sick green color! Gonna ride DuPont in NC on Tuesday!
Congrats!! Have fun 😎
Is that 9 speed gearing going to be ok on and off trail?
just bought the matte keswick size L, Just starting to get into mountain biking
im looking for my first mtb. I look for an all around that does everything good. I'll mostly do trails on weekends with friends. Would you suggest this?
I’d say this is a pretty amazing first mountain bike. You can make do with a Trek marlin style bike if you’re a beginner on a budget, but you can definitely grow into this one more and it has more room to upgrade.
Pretty sure the changes to the 6 reflect that Trek is simply finished selling off the frames from the previous Roscoe generation. I wouldn't really be holding my breath for any other significant changes within the Roscoe line up anytime soon. Trek is more than likely sitting on a ton of unsold inventory of this newer generation now, with the bike business being so slow.
Any works on the Roscoe 9. Im set on the 9 already but idk if a new ones is on the way or not. My guess is yes just cuz the 2023 is on sale right now
I haven’t seen any news on a new roscoe 9 yet unfortunately. The sale price could just be since Trek isn’t able to sell as many bikes right now, but it is also likely that there could be a new roscoe 9 coming. Getting it on sale is not bad though!
Why do they NOT make a XXL in the Roscoe?
I have an Xcaliber 8 in XXL and always interested in the Roscoe but there's not a XXL, for my height.
Any thoughts why Trek doesn't make a XXL in it? Thanks,
Not sure, they used to make it on the old roscoe frame. Maybe they decided that those sizes weren’t selling as well, but that’s just my speculation
When will Trek make an XXL in the Roscoe?
I am confused between roscoe 6 2024 and marlin 8 gen 3. Which one is better in your opinion and why?
Sat on both today. Very different feeling bikes. I would feel comfortable riding the Roscoe on blue trails, where the Marlin is mainly set up for roads or dirt paths.
Kindly review the Team Marin 2..
He only does Trek, since he works there.
I have a Marlin 4 gen 2 but Maybe in a year or so I wanna upgrade to either a newer Marlin like 7 at least or the Roscoe 6 any suggestions
Get a roscoe so much better than the marlin, just seem to be able to throw a roscoe around more
What about bottom bracket, threaded now?
It was threaded before and still is now
Less than thrilled they moved from 10 speed to 9 speed! The consolation is that used CUES with Linkglide but they could have done that with 10 speed as well. This is a mixed bag.
That’s true, I don’t prefer 9 speeds either, but I think all of the other features make up for it if it stays at that price.
A Lot better bike!
nah. IMO its not a deal breaker. its still the same 11-46. I always think that 7-8 speed is enough for mtb since realistically I'll be using 5-6 rings only. 1 less ring just means less weight
3 pounds lighter and an air fork
@@rossejera1661Which of those 11-46 is for climbing and what's the normal range for a good mountain bike?
Hello, could you please tell me if you plan to do another review comparing the Marlin 2023 and 2024 with your recommendations?
Also, maybe you can suggest which Marlin to buy for myself and what year if I plan to ride in the city (bicycle lanes, going over curbs, etc.) and occasionally off-road.
i just bought a new 2022 Marlin 7 for 600usd for both roads and gravel, and some smoother trail-runs. Haven't tested it yet due to winter here in Sweden. From what i have read and seen on YT-videos, it's a good bike on most stuff, but not the best at anything :-)
I have actually created 4 separate videos on my channel recently where I compare the 2023 Marlins with the 2024 Marlins, discussing each respective bike in the range one video at a time. I'll make a 2024 comparison video for all 5 marlins in the future as well.
For occasional off-road, a gen 2 marlin like the marlin 5 or 6 would be perfect since they are more focused on both commuting and trail riding over only trail riding. You could get a Gen 3 marlin as well but they will be more expensive and more focused on trail riding which may not be necessary for you. You could also try the dual sports if you only ride on gravel trails and want something faster on the road that can still handle the bicycle lanes and rough roads
Nice! The marlin 7 definitely works as an all around bike, not bad at all
@@TalalipopMTB Thank you!
No problem :)
What about the roscoe 8 when will that come out
Haven't heard anything about the Roscoe 8 and 9 yet, not sure why but hopefully they should get an update soon
Any news on roscoe 7?
They have released an updated one so I’ll make a video on that next!
So I’m thinking the Roscoe 6 2024 or the Roscoe 7 2023 what you think is it worth the 450 or so difference to go Roscoe 7
Slightly different entry level air fork. My 6 has the same Shimano brakes. Really comes down to 9 speed Cues vs the larger range Deore 12.
Did you make a decision on those two bikes? Bc I am looking at the same ones. Another one is the Cannondale Habit HT2
@@Jose-sy1je yes I ended up with the Roscoe 7
@@jmovision270 What made you go with the Roscoe 7 if you don't mind me asking? Do you know how I could find those bikes on sale at times?
@@Jose-sy1je more gear in the rear, better crank set ect plus to be honest I found a good deal on a like new one and it already had a pike unlimited up front I got like 800 invested after wheeling and dealing lol..now it’s time to fine a full suspension.
is there a ROSCOE 8 for 2024?
Not yet, but I’ll make a video on it if it does come out! My speculation is that they should come out with one soon since they released the other roscoes
What is the main difference between the Roscoe & Marlin?
Marlin is 4 trails and roscoe cross country i think
@@bobbysmith15 Gen 2 Marlin is more of a XC bike, Gen 3 Marlin is more of a Trail/Downcountry bike but the Roscoe is a full trail bike.
I agree. Gen 2 Marlins are more cross country focused and better for light trails or for commuting on the road as well. Gen 3 Marlins are much more trail oriented and better for beginning and intermediate mountain biking, but still not bad as commuters. Roscoe is definitely for intermediate and more difficult mountain biking trails so less focus on commuting features and more for trail riding
Roscoe is their best hardtail marlin is more budget
I have. Marlin 4 gen 2 but only been to trail once
I hate trek because they use boost 141 instead boost 148x12
This bike uses boost148, the only trek bike that uses boost141 now is the x caliber which is pretty outdated now
@@TalalipopMTB but old roscoe used 141 boost
True but at least they’re going away from that finally with this 2024 update
@@TalalipopMTB thanks god
