I had a 1979 XC Update Panel Van for 10 years. Ended up ditching the 250 crossflow, for an XA 351, 9 inch, Toploader set up. Xc's had pretty weak flexy panels, they LOVED sill rust and door well rust. I installed the GXL dash as well, it drove very tight. Air shocks on the rear, lol, and monroe shocks all around, lowered front. I did Yarra Glen to Mansfield EARLY one morning, in 35 minutes @ 180KPH MOST of the way.

This model should have been one of the yellow pursuit vehicles in Mad Max, but they were on a low budget and there were no XCs being retired as cabs in 1979.

I once had an XC Fairmont 2 door Hardtop a 4.1 litre auto in a kind of Lime green colour loved the bloody thing I used to sell them, but this number sorry a potential deathtrap lol

Nitro is common slang for the vehicle running on nitro methane gas. It is not a term used for nitrous.....
I like a Xc, but a tuff Xd or Xe does it for me more.. the boxy stuff low and wide..

I got 780hp without nitro with my Supercharged LSA GenF2 GTS. Its got stock trans converter and stock diff ratio.
My sister drives it when I am over seas to keep her limber. Nobody thats driven it has been scared of it and it will light them at 100kmph with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 on it.
I guess its what you get used to.
The Falcon doesn't run nitro either.
It runs nitrous. Very different.
He's getting that power naturally aspirated. Your little LS can't do that.

Will have to convert that to CNG once oil becomes scarce not EV because batteries are made from finite materials and that too will run out. Anyhoo, that things got 900hp but can only do 10 sec 1/4 mile? must be the weight and tires not sticking
I don;t recall him mentioning a 1/4mile time. He said the car only goes 140mph but gets there in 10 seconds; that isn't indicative of a 1/4 mile time, just a bit of hyperbole.

Funny that the XD could have ever been more popular than the XC. The XD would have to have been one of the ugliest big cars ever created.
Nice try. It's all about coupes, and XA/XB's at that. Had a XB in 90/91 canary yellow GT 4 door. Couldn't buy one now. Sold it when I joined the army. Such is life.
While it is 'all about coupes', the XC is the more refined of the XA-C generation. The sedans are the overlooked examples of the Falcons and besides, someone's toy is someone's toy and if they love it then that's all that matters. Besides, as an Aussie it is cool to see an Aussie beast tearing it up overseas, seeing it in the UK is great. Also, in fact, the XB was the least favourable of the GT Falcs ever built, aimed at being a laid back cruiser rather then ferocious like the XY and XA were, and FYI, Canary Yellow is a Holden colour, I believe you mean Yellow Blaze
carguy _351 was 26 years ago😜 next car after came back from somalia was supposed to be a JG 302 hardtop. Ended up with a 351 '80 fairlaine. Couple of Holden's, couple of discos now all euro. Pretty much over old cars now.

It is idd for an american why i am to see how surprising very high hp muscle cars are to you here in socal there are some very special modified muscle cars with a 1000+hp many are better engineered then this one no matter what the gentleman thinks
