I enjoyed your track selections. Lifetime Maiden fan here and I was pleased to see Deja Vu in there, which doesn't often get the love it deserves. Transylvania is one of my favorites!! I recently bought a SH sig bass (the one with the West Ham crest) as my midlife crisis purchase. Clairvoyant bass intro is where I started- will take me a while to train up!! What do you think are the easier songs for bass for a beginner? Thanks for sharing. Up the irons!

Thanks! I was plugged in directly into the audio interface! I used a bit of eq on Cubase but that was it!

I find that much easier than that part on to tame a land or rime. Those two almost give me nightmares

Absolutly impressive!! I have seen Maiden in 1980 supporting Kiss, and you really kick ass, well done mate!
You covered the bases spectacularly, all of these are both fun to play, and pain inducing, but I mean that in the best way possible. Phantom of the Opera would also be comfortably at home on this list, if you meant to make a list of the hardest or most impressive of Steve Harris´s songs to play. Great work, and UP THE IRONS!

I’m glad to see that I’m not the only only one to three finger gallop on “killers”.
For me,
“Phantom of the opera” has always been challenging. It just seems to be a half step faster and a tiny bit more disjointed than it should be.
One of my FAVORITE songs to play though!🤘🏻✌🏻
It's actually two fingers 😅 the third finger is sympathetic so it seems to be plucking the strings

All these bass lines proves that Steve Harris is the man behind the success of Iron Maiden throughout the years. Great composer, but also an amazing and outstanding technician on the bass guitar. All those bass lines demonstrates that Steve Harris is such a unique bassist with playing techniques of his own perfectly created and executed for Iron Maiden's music. The same is surely for his other band, British Lion. Still one of the most influencial bass guitar players today. Steve Harris is an icon and a living legend of the bass guitar.

One of Steve's best written songs that has that epic feel where it feels like it's 8or 9 minutes long but it's actually around 5 to 6 minutes, is Mother Russia, just about the most perfect song in so many ways, this is a song that you an actually play with bass and drums a.d it's impressive ,it gets overlooked because it's on NO prayer for the dying (another great song btw) and the subject is controversial I suppose, I don't are , the music fits so well with the subject and there isn't any filler or repetitivnous, just the quintessential maiden song

SPB4 and Steve's signature flatwound strings on the blue sparkle bass, SPB3 and DR Hi Beam roundwound strings on the purple one

@@OliverTobyn i dont have one. I have good strings and precision basen with low action but its still sound Like ass cause bad laney Amp. I Heard that Steve uses compression effect
