This song is ideally paired with the song DIFFERENT as DON'T BE LONG was intended as a practice piece for Miku to learn the chord progressions on DIFFERENT. That's why they're on the same 2019 single.
Yeah, Kanami wrote this instrumental for Miku to help train her to play diminished chords for the song "Different," iirc. I like to think of this song as "Etude for Miku."
Pysch! No Psyche, er, Saiki. One of 4 incredible instrumentals that I never get tired of listening to, as opposed to any other band that generally has zero instrumentals and they get boring after a while if they do. Imagine if you will, being Miku, giving up lead singers role ( no one does this!! ) for the betterment of the band, then decides she needs to learn guitar from the ground up. Yeah it helps to have the best teacher in the universe, lol, but still she had to put in the work. And then to find yourself in 4 instrumental classics with the best instrumental band in the world. Pretty heady stuff. Then you get to share vocals with another fantastic singer, giving this band one of the best one-two punches ever. Playing and singing some of the best rock compositions ever.
You might remember Kanami saying in her documentary, that Santana was an influence in her playing. The tremolo picking style is classic Santana. Most notable in songs such as Soul Sacrifice etc.
Thank you. Your reactions are smart. They are always interesting to watch. One piece of advice. When watching documentaries, don't rush to ask a question. You will get all the answers in a couple of seconds. 🙂
I've always loved this fan cam video of their live performance in New York City 5 years ago. 225k views for a fan cam is impressive th-cam.com/video/wnO3NAc0vLw/w-d-xo.html&t
Band-Maid's Don't Be Long is my least favorite instrumental from them. I've had to drop my rating of the song to the lowest of any Maid song... to a mere 8.7. 🤘😉 Thx, Sohum!
@@TomClark-Futoura There are a few BM songs I skip while listening to an album...However, even the skipped songs work their way back into my rotation to suit my mood. They can, truly, do no wrong.

@drogonr9318 I like that title ! The song deserves to be better known. Of all Band Maid instrumentals, it is the least known ,imo.

5 instrumentals

According to a magazine article, Kanami and Misa have absolute pitch.
ofc they do hahah, so talented
I think Miku too. Kanami wrote that Miku plays by ear.
@@Olkam-w5u I agree. Maybe it could be all the members.
The Maids rock it again. Thank you.
This was their second released instrumental to Onset
この曲はミクの技術向上の為にカナミが作ったインストルメンタルです。
結構むづかしそうですが・・・(笑)
ANY of these ladies could shred with the best of them ! 🤟🏼🎸🥁🎸🎸🎤🤟🏼
"Even if we don't have Saiki on a track, we can still find a way to include Saiki in the track."...okay, you are a certified Maidiac, PO!🕊💕
You already know!

Thanks. Instrumentals were to give Seiki a rest. Now they are an expected jewels.
Love Don't Be Long! My 2nd favorite B-M instrumental after Without Holding Back.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
Kanami going nuts in Mincho mode❤❤❤
Thanks Sohum, Thanks Frank
Most welcome!
It's always a pleasure !
You have to do the song 'Different' after this. :P~ Since, this is a recital piece for Miku-chan to practice for the song.
This was supposed to be a double reaction...He doesn't always read the comments.
I read lol. It wasn't clear you wanted both in the SAME video
@@Sohum Double donation = Double reaction...at least for me. 👍

edit - corrected the time stamp
Yeah, this one is the definitive performance video for me.
The Dallas version of this song has an incredibly rare and awkward exuberant intro from Kanami...Not to be missed !
🤘😛🤘🔥🔥
💜💛❤(💙)💚
This was one of Band-Maid's great "Saiki Pee Break" instrumentals.
Great job. Except for cutting off the last note. You're doing these maids justice though so you get a mulligan.

In the Maidosphere that's like giving a song a 2 or 3 rating.
..lol 😮
@@frankandre4385 Yeah, I don't think any B-M song has registered below an 8. No other band can do that... or even have 140+ high caliber songs!
