What a night for Saiki...as a rookie pianist, she stunned this huge crowd into silence with her debut, performing a slow captivating version of Choose Me all by herself. Amazing courage 👌🔥❤
This song gets me every time!!!!! You can tell that they adore their fans very much!!!!! (About Us) is another one that is so heartfelt!!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!
Great reaction to the GREATEST of Rock bands!! I also feel that we are all part of their lives just as they are a part of our lives. Band Maid is not only the greatest of all rock bands they are the most unique. So humble, so sweet, but so hard rocking. From tears to smiles … us Maidiacs can always rely on Band Maid making our lives better. ❤❤ Thanks again for the “pigeon hole” journey you are on. It’s great to be along for the ride.
"Endless Story" was a song played at the end of BAND-MAID's "10th Anniversary Concert", which lasted three and a half hours, and all the members and fans were so impressed that they cried😢
I think that's her all the way, soul on the palm of her hand - happy, sad, elated, moved, the whole mix! And surely no missed beats, out of question! :)))
If you don't know Asami, Midori and Haruna were at that show in Yokohama Arena, and in one part of the show the members of BM walked around the arena and met and greeted each other warmly, they know each other.
Was there (from LA) and I get the onion out every time. On a side note, Misa's Mom was there (and from my vantage point, she was having a great time), and Midori, Asami, and Haruna from LB was there too! So special, Po! 🦍🍌
If this one doesn't make you cry 'About Us' will. I wish they could bring all that stage show here to the states, but I understand. Maybe someday. If so, I'm glad I saw them before they got big.
I'm not sure which chapter of 'The Tao according To Po' that Miku's lyrics are now preserved in but I think it was Volume 3. Miku's lyricism is some of the deepest I've encountered in music and her use of languages, metaphor, puns, wordplay, philosophical concepts and Japanese culture is always astounding. This is a song that, as you said, gets you "smiling and choked up" - the tears are ones of joy and thankfulness, appreciation of their lack of egolessness and of their thoughtfulness towards we Maidiacs. MISA plucks so hard in this song, especially on that last chorus, while Kanami's guitar tugs at the heartstrings, Saiki breaks us all with her emotional vocals and Akane manages to finish without crying this time, like she did on their USA tour. Miku does sing her usual perfect harmonies and some of the 'woah, woah' but it is mostly a backing track she recorded earlier - probably to save her having to keep it up for the entire song! But those glorious lyrics are all hers. Thanks a million for this, as always, superb reaction! As Miku wrote, Saiki sang and Jimmy commented on, "We'll never forget this view shared with you". Now I have to go and find that list of Band-Maid requests for 2025 that I compiled!
No matter how many times I listen to this song it always brings me to tears😢. I'm a 64 year old Maidiac ❤. Tequila Jimmy and The Gringa you guys are so awesome with your reactions. Keep up the great reactions 😊
There is an excellent fan cam of Akane crying her eyes out when they played this at The House of Blues, Chicago '22. It was the last show of their first US tour post Covid. I was there for that show and didn't realize until the video was posted but Akane later said that they were tears of joy and sadness that the tour was over and seing how much the fans truly loved Band-Maid moved her. Pretty cool stuff 🙂
I had just started listening to the Maids after this show happened, so I was bummed I hadn't heard of them sooner because I live near Chicago, and I would have been at this show. So, for my 1st time watching them live was this fancam. Great show, then came the end and watching Akane try to hold it together, it was the first signs to me that this group is special. For them to travel halfway around the world not knowing after 2 years how they'd be received because America has a short-term memory span musically and singing songs in a language most didn't understand and having their shows sell out. It had to be a relief from the unknown, we all know how much she loves to smile and have fun and to see her emotions at that time is memorable. If I had only known of this band during that depressing time of 2020.
I'm not crying! I was lucky enough to have here that night. It wasn't a concert, it was a celebration! A culmination of what a dream can become through determination, love, friendship, a single vision, hard work and a little luck (thanks facebook page that played Thrill). From the opening note onward you knew this was no ordinary show, it was something more. After the lights came up, I must have sat there for a good 10 minutes gathering my thoughts, such an emotional night for everyone who saw it live or streamed it. Thanks for this one!
The Gringa is right - they are an ecosystem. I'd even say that Maidiacs are also part of their ecosystem, so you guys are part of it too. That's how it feels to me, and after almost 50 years of going to shows, I've never felt quite like this about any other band. Not even close, really. It's so hard to describe them to a newbie though. I mean, how can you explain it to them in a way that won't get you committed to an institution or something? I really believe it takes about 20 or more songs to really really understand just how awesome this band really is.
🕊This song was created as a *BAND-MAID* anthem song that they wanted to play in big arena 🕊 In 2022 *BAND-MAID* started it's 14 city US tour, the tour ended in Chicago, and in this particular song *Akane* was so overwhelmed it is a must see video. 🥲 _(This one video you must bring a tissue as well)_ 🥲

I've never pushed through the Band-Maid catalog because every now and then something I've never heard before pops up and I'm like "what!? Wait, what's that?!😊 it's nice to keep discovering Band-Maid❤. And I've seen them in concert thrice😊
There has never been a band that got to me like Band-Maid. So, so glad I discovered them. Thank you for reacting to this and for getting on the BM discord.
I saw the livestream for the Yokohama okyuji. I arrived home at midnight after an exhausting post-Thanksgiving travel day then stayed up two hours for the start of the show. After 3 1/2 hours of joy they definitely had me emotional when this song rolled around. When it comes to the Maids, when they cry I cry.
There have been a handful of what I call Legendary Band Maid concerts and this was one of them. Wish I could've been there! Thankfully they've released a bunch of videos from this concert. Still hoping that they eventually release an official live video for Show Them! Such a beautiful song & performance! Love the visuals! What an ending! I'm not crying, you're crying 🥲😊 😉
Once you come to realize that the word "Maid" is more than just a concept. These ladies truly go out and perform like it's their duty to serve their fanbase. They don't call their shows an "Okyuji" as a gimmick, it is a "serving". I've truly enjoyed watching your journey to learning more about this band. I fell in love with these ladies 4-5 years ago and one of the greatest moments in my 53 years on this earth was witnessing them live in Japan
@@dave4reel188That's epically crappy. Hope you're better now. I got covid and missed the Chicago show that wrapped up the end of their 2022 tour, BUT I caught them in San Diego before that, and have seen them twice since. I CANNOT WAIT for the chance to see them again.
Ice Queen my ass. The Ice Queen thoroughly thawed right before our eyes. Akane, though smiling, was crying from about the begining. The whoa ay oh whoa was also by the "choir" of all Maidiacs there. You're part of the Maidiac Family now for sure. Soul reacts with soul. 😢 So glad you've got to see this today!
Imagine seeing this after 3.5 hours of pure magic, I don't know if you can wear out a Blu-Ray like an album, but if so I will have to buy another one soon. The band was at their peak of powers all throughout, this is the one concert if I could magically have seen, this is THE ONE. Y'all have seen Hate and now this but man this whole concert was LIT. Best merch purchase I have ever MAID.
Thank you for your always wonderful reactions. I'm enjoying it. BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES are good friends. In fact, members of LOVEBITES came to watch this concert too. From Japan.
I got pretty emotional at the end of this concert . Endless Story is such a great closing song =) It hits me just like "About Us" does ! Thanks Y'all Thanks Tony ✌
Absolutely love this song. Especially this performance. Always gets my eyes sweaty. I really really love Band-Maid for livestreaming this show so that those of us on the other side of the world could watch it too. Great reaction, y'all!
Kanami stated that she wrote "Endless Story", she wanted to make an "anthem" where the audience could join in singing with the band. She nailed it! Every GREAT song makes an emotional connection between the artists and the audience. This song does that.
This song was a great big thank you to their fans. Beautiful performance. I recommend listening to the studio or official MV version tho (Kanami seems to turn down her amp during the live) - I think it'll give you a better appreciation of the song's beauty. For some reason, this song always reminds me of rushing water, and it was neat to see that the MV was shot by the ocean.
It’s better that it took you a while to get to this one. I think it’s one of the ones you have to earn, by listening to them for a while, learning their story, becoming a fan. Then this song and performance is for, and about you, and you can properly feel the emotional weight of it.
You can watch the fan-recorded video of Band-Maid singing "CHOOSE ME" at this concert. Video recording is allowed. I remember lovebites was also in the audience.
Hi TJ and Grin, thank you for picking up this song!! Band maid sings this song for us. What audience can do is to put full of love into their voice and bring it to them. Even simple phrase of merody, but they put "Love you guys!", "You made it!", "Thank you!" or so many words. And the most important thing is that Band maid also listens and understands our words. That is why we can feel "We made it!" and "You made it!" even through this video.
B-M truly is an unicorn and plays in an own league IMHO - not only musically. There are many great bands out there, but after 3-5 songs I feel the need to switch back to B-M 😊 I can easily listen to all their 150+ recordings in a row, or on shuffle and never, ever get bored a single second. There is something truly magical about Kanami‘s songwriting, almost no other band is able to create such a pull. This band is like a well-oiled fighter jet engine, where every single detail interweave with each other so precisely to produce maximum pressure. And above all, the voices of Saiki and Miku hover in perfect harmony. I could swim and sink into Saiki‘s voice all day. Apart from that, they seem to be the most wonderful bunch of humans you can wish for. The world needs more maids like them.
I've seen this a bunch of times, starting with the livestream after getting up in the middle of the night for it. Every single time, the eye faucets start dripping. And it feels so good!
I'm the opposite in that when I first discovered Band-Maid I binged YT for everything I could find, which is how I discovered reactors too, and then bought all their CDs, DVDs that I could find on Amz or eBay. Subscribed to their 2 pay sites also. I find that every song hits hard no matter how many times I've heard it. YMMV of course. I do feel sorry for reactors who have to limit themselves so as to not hear songs they haven't done yet. I could never do that with this band. I wish the internet wasn't the dangerous place it is now, I've been online since the mid 90s, so I could gift their recording to people like you guys who would enjoy them but that is not how things go anymore. Sad.
Kanami said in an interview this song was written to be played at Yokohama Arena with all the fans joining during the "Whoa" part to be complete... Few years after it happened and I was there. I will never forget that night and will never not cry each time I watch this video
They had already done it with one or two songs before during this show, but this was the moment when these 5 ladies made sure that even the last floodgates were fully open, not only in the venue on site but also around the world through the stream. A moment that I can still remember very well today, a year later. Yes, there are many bands that are grateful for their fans, but I don't know of any that show it so much and above all in such an honest way.... Maybe that's the only thing why I'm glad that their following is relatively small and their rise didn't come overnight, which I think is highlighted quite well by Ohrenje's documentaries. Who knows if it would be the same otherwise. I will never get tired of repeating that these ladies together with this community are truly special. ❤🔥🙏🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. This was the perfect ending to Band-Maid's 10th anniversary show! Last song of the last show of their year, what a band! Saiki sure shows her progress in confidence here, Po!
If you don't tear up or choke up to this, you should see a doctor, because you may be dead. The last verse was added just for this event, a PS on one of their love letters to the fans, so you were exactly right about the shared view.
To think some fans don't like this song when it first came out thinking it's not heavy enough. It was meant for this stage only COVID delayed it for a couple years.
@@TheGringa-TJandTG Trust me. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, wants to hear that. This song gets me every time and then add Saiki struggling to control her emotions?????😭😭😭😭😭
It always gets dusty when I watch this video. Keep in mind, their management had already decided to turn out the lights when suddenly the Internet brought them thousands of new fans from around the world. Yes, they were playing that night in Yokohama only because of the support of their rabid fan base. This was the last song of their year-long, trans-Pacific (two swings through the U.S., including a set at Lollapalooza) 10th Anniversary TOUR! Streamed live around the world, and to my house. They wrote this song In anticipation of one day playing an area-sized venue. See, dreams do come true, with a lot of hard work. You need to see the OMV as well.
Great reaction guys. Increbile charasmatic vocalst and woman who can rock out or tug at your heartstrings. She has a magic switch to my lacrimal glands effortlessly producing a surfeit of tears. I subscribed to the livestream, such an awesome 3.5+ hour performance, the whole band were on fire and Saiki was at the top of her game
I was watching the Band Maid/Missioned Souls reaction yesterday and literally thought of this song. I was all Endless Story 10th anniversary performance will blow their minds, mere hours later and here it is. Thanks once again you guys are amazing. Maidiacs dont shoot me if im wrong but im almost certain i read this. After Saiki talks to the crowd towards the end and says lets sing some more. That verse was written especially just for that performance on that night. "For making today possible, for letting our voices join together. Thank you, from now, always." Perfection. BM❤💙
The members of BAND-MAID and LOVEBETES are friends, and LOVEBETES members (Haruna, Asami, and Midori) have been found in the background of the report of this 10th anniversary live show. 👉th-cam.com/video/k_gCBAJQvEI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uErjcZ9zBJg9_CEn (5:21 ~ 5:44 🤭)
That was song #33 of their 10th anniversary concert. They added that last set of lyrics when Saiki went down the runway to thank the fans. They are the best.
Ha ha! I'm back! Did you know your web browser can break your ability to comment on TH-cam at random? I know now! Took days, but it's fixed. lol And what a song to come back to! (I did watch the other reactions from the past couple days though.) Your comments about how much Band-Maid appreciates and loves their fans really hits home with me. Because my three main hobbies all my life have been games, movies, and comics. (Anime and manga are in the movie and comics portion of that.) And the past few years, for some reason, the Western side of those industries have made many attacks on their fans. A movie company puts out a sub-standard movie, fans don't like it, and the makers and media say "it's the fans that are wrong! Why are they like that?". Comic book writers, and video game developers have gone on twitter saying how much they dislike their fans for various reasons. Many, many times I've been lumped in with -ists, and -phobes, just for disagreeing with the extreme direction somethings taken. It's like, you love something, but it hates you in return. And it takes a huge toll on your mental well being. But then there is Band-Maid. Music wasn't even that big a part of my life until I found them. And they have, without even speaking the same language, made me feel more welcome, appreciated, and cared for than ANY media, or hobby that I've ever taken part of. And in return I want the very best for them, and care about them very much. I'm not very social, and don't go to forums or whatever, but I even want the best for the Maidiacs out there by extension. You like Band-Maid? You just made it to my "Good person" list. Just that easy. Every person who works in any form of media, really needs to take notes from Band-Maid. How to be amazing, talented, and famous, and still be a good human being.
Welcome back!! we were wondering where you were!! .. your comment is spot on about these wonderful humans...This one was a special one ..it shows their human side with no blinders. Glad to see you back here 🤘
Welcome back!!!!! There’s a certain movie franchise that TJ feels that way about. A devoted fan for years and then they just haven’t been hitting him the way they used to. Don’t wanna name the franchise but he feels the same way you do when it comes to that!!!!! ❤
@@TJandTheGringa Glad to be back. Thank ya muchly. Now, I wait with antici... pation (had to.), for your reaction to "about us". Another wonderful, and surprising moment from this wonderful, and surprising band.
@@TheGringa-TJandTG Thank you kindly for the welcome back. And I won't even hazard a guess to the franchise. But, yep. It feels wrong when the franchise takes a wrong turn. And even worse when the makers of the thing blame those who love it.
Thank you for reaction to this video. Kanami has always dreamed of performing live at Yokohama Arena, and she wrote this song "Endless Story" imagining singing it with everyone there. So it was a great joy for their, and for Maidiacs too, that their dream came true. So I thought the concert would end with this song, but as soon as the intro started, tears started flowing, and when I looked around, everyone was crying. Even now, when I watch this video, I remember that moment and tears come to my eyes.
I'm not crying. You're crying. A lot of the backing vocals are on a backing track for this song. There is just too much going on for Miku to cover it by herself.
One of the best Thanksgivings ever(2023) Thanksgiving with family and friends, then ending the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend with a Bandmaid livestream finale concert. Not one boring part during 3 hours and 44 minute concert, even the 4 MCs(breaks) I got the gist of what they're were saying even though i understand a little Japanese. One of the best sets of songs was the set of songs before the final MC. 24.FREEDOM (New intro) 25. BLACK HOLE (New intro with Akane drum solo) 26.DICE (new intro with Misa basssolo) 27.HATE? Dice continued into Hate? with no break Side note: 'The One' off Epic Narratives album was originally intended for the final song for Yokohama Arena, but they decided to hold off using 'The One' for another time. (Maybe for Budokan???)
Hard to believe that there were 15000 viewers there to see them...along with LOVEBITES was also in the audience....now that is pure respect between bands....
Sorry you guys, you are beautiful, but I was not looking at you much, I was looking at THEM! :) Finally, a song that will turn me over to BAND-MAID permanently?! A am a huge sucker for true emotion, whatever the style, be it opera or hip-hop; but especially in Heavy Metal and Hard Rock, which present perfect vehicles for delivering tales of great struggles and exalted feelings. And this song had the feels in spades, to epic proportions, not to mention it's the first song I know of that literally says "Arigato" to the fans, in the text! Their interaction with the audience is true, and it left a mark on me. I trust the adrenaline was running high, and Saiki meant it when she said they would rather keep going, even after 3,5 hours! Those smiles, a huge production, and the sense of occasion reminded me of another 10th anniversary - the "Retrospect" show by EPICA (which, if you do not know it by any chance, deserves your time like all those legendary classics, no kidding!). Different style and all, the same vibe of togetherness.
Definitely a good way to end that show. You can see the emotion coming through in the performance. You should watch the whole concert Blu-ray sometime (recommend the limited edition with the 2nd disc documentary as it's really interesting, too). Though you may want to wait until you can react to the other 21 songs from the setlist.
This song is amazing. Makes my eyes tear up every time

@@dave4reel188That's epically crappy. Hope you're better now. I got covid and missed the Chicago show that wrapped up the end of their 2022 tour, BUT I caught them in San Diego before that, and have seen them twice since. I CANNOT WAIT for the chance to see them again.
この子達は、比べる事もなく私にとっては最高のバンドデス。
No thank you Band Maid!!! You are the BEST!!!
These ladies are the absolute best!
Thank you for your always wonderful reactions. I'm enjoying it. BAND-MAID and LOVEBITES are good friends. In fact, members of LOVEBITES came to watch this concert too.
From Japan.
❤️💜💚 Thank you for watching 💚💜❤️
I got pretty emotional at the end of this concert . Endless Story is such a great closing song =) It hits me just like "About Us" does ! Thanks Y'all Thanks Tony ✌
Absolutely love this song. Especially this performance. Always gets my eyes sweaty. I really really love Band-Maid for livestreaming this show so that those of us on the other side of the world could watch it too. Great reaction, y'all!
💚💚
Kanami stated that she wrote "Endless Story", she wanted to make an "anthem" where the audience could join in singing with the band. She nailed it! Every GREAT song makes an emotional connection between the artists and the audience. This song does that.
Bill!!! 🍺😁🤘🏻🕊️
You guys.... Thanks for the reaction!
Thanks for watching! 🤘😎🤘
Kanami's ending sequence starting at about 11:45 hits me square in the feels every time!
🥹this one everytime. Thanks for the reaction . Love Band Maid 🤩

💓💓
Well said!
I hope her solo performance from this show is on your list to watch.
We plan to watch everything!!
YES YES YES!!!! I have been waiting forever for this.

Great emotional reaction.
I've seen this a bunch of times, starting with the livestream after getting up in the middle of the night for it. Every single time, the eye faucets start dripping. And it feels so good!
Cry every time i watch it 😭🤣, btw i'm a 53 yr old bloke.

Which is why Kanami "sings" along with us in the chorus 💚
I didn’t wear my waterproof mascara. Now I have clown eyes. 🤡
😂😭
Saiki’s voice will always ruin your eye makeup guaranteed 🥰
John I would've gone for "Panda"...but now you mention it.😏
They had already done it with one or two songs before during this show, but this was the moment when these 5 ladies made sure that even the last floodgates were fully open, not only in the venue on site but also around the world through the stream.

This was the perfect ending to Band-Maid's 10th anniversary show! Last song of the last show of their year, what a band! Saiki sure shows her progress in confidence here, Po!
💞😭
If you don't tear up or choke up to this, you should see a doctor, because you may be dead. The last verse was added just for this event, a PS on one of their love letters to the fans, so you were exactly right about the shared view.

Thans for the reaction and Tony thanks for the coffee ;-)
It just doesn't get any better than this , a song as gorgeous as the Maids and why are my eyes leaking, wonderful Po 👍🍻

To think some fans don't like this song when it first came out thinking it's not heavy enough. It was meant for this stage only COVID delayed it for a couple years.
Yes, Miku is the Lyricist for this and many BAND-MAID songs.

Saiki brought me to this beautiful sound in 2017 . Year after year they just get better and better . Great job you two . 👍👍👍👍👍
I really think you'd love ABOUT US.
BM❤💙

Ha ha! I'm back! Did you know your web browser can break your ability to comment on TH-cam at random? I know now! Took days, but it's fixed. lol
And what a song to come back to!
Its hard to hold the tears back with this song! It's best to just surrender and let them flow! Thank you for watching!! 💚

25. BLACK HOLE

26.DICE (new intro with Misa basssolo)
