third time re editing and uploading this video! sad, a person at youtube thought it was not safe for ads! seriously a kayak video
This Yak is able to handle "crazy waters" as you put it. I've put it through the ringer on the Gulf Coast here in TX and it shines ol' son!
i believe it!
I bought one last fall and i love it
epic little boat!
great tips - I didn't know the pdl floats and I liked how u showed taking out the grass as well. thanks
Thank you 😊, always great to read comments like yours
My arms don't get tired that easily but my legs do. So I can paddle further distance than I can pedal.
Yup
Navarre kayak sells a metal replacement rudder that should help with turning radius
I'm not a fan of the pedal drives. I'm a simple dude, love kayaks that only paddle use. I have a vibe yf 130t, it's like a barge. It's slow but has tons of space, very little water gets in. Super super stable and ocean surf worthy
Pastelitos powered!
I would say my new pedal yak is tiny...lol It's 8 feet long , about 34'' wide , 60lbs , made from HDPE , got it about a week ago and loving it. When I get a chance I'll make a video on it , reminds me of my slayer propel 10 but yet different.
sounds epic!
Im a happy pdl 106 owner.
Good morning Good show sir
goooooodddd morning Phillip :)
How do you like this vs the paddle only version? I’m thinking of the paddle version just due to the price being much cheaper, but I’m worried it will be a pain to paddle while fighting currents and trying to fish.
@@nicknadeau5538 if you can I would definitely think about stepping up the the pdl version. The wind and current you’ll spend more time fighting the wind with your paddle instead of fishing. Its worth the extra money, buy your second kayak first that’s the old saying lol
Excellent review, how is standing stability compare to the vibe makana?
Let's do Head to head
@@AliexFolgueira Would make for a great video, no doubt!
@@Isaac-sj2ix 106 is more stable, but let's show it
What one do you rather 120 or 106? Which one is more stable?
120 by a good marging
Does less water enter the cockpit in the Sportsman 120 PDL?
Have you ever tested the 106 MK ? It’s a great kayak and I have a simple mod on mine that turns it into a fantastic fishing machine. Thanks Aleix your videos are great
Yes I have, I enjoyed using it, very simple 😀 motors ftw 😀 thanks for the feedback brother
How does this compare to the vanhunks elite pro angler I'm buying one this Friday and I can't decide I'm 6'2 and 280
Can you make a video of putting an xi3 on this boat?!
I should do that, when? not sure, I wanna put autoboat on it
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Awesome stuff dude
Aliex how tall are you? I love watching your stability tests and it would be helpful in judging stability to understand your height. Thanks!
5.10.5
@@AliexFolgueira Quick reply! You're my all time favorite youtuber. Thank you Aliex!
@@W4ND3RFUL thanks bro
I seen a older video you took the 120 pdl on the ocean. I have a topwater 106 pdl. Is it ok to use the pdl in saltwater? I don't want to damage the drive. This kayak is so awesome i use it everywhere!
I 99.99% of the time fish saltwater, totally fine in salt
@@AliexFolgueira awesome thanks
Would this be suitable to fish in large lakes like Lake Michigan on good weather?
ohh yeah
Hey Alex, love your vids. Do you think I could get that on top of a Toyota fj cruiser? I had a predator pdl on a trailer. Got rid of it because it was too big too heavy plus I needed the money for my 19 foot fishing boat purchase! I miss the simplicity of Kayak fishing and am looking hard at the 106 pdl.
the hull is uder 85# so you can car top it, there are videos on youtube showing you how to car top a yak i should do one lol
@@AliexFolgueira yes you should!
Can you do review of hammer head whale shark kayak?
Would this be sufficient enough for saltwater fishing? I’m trying fish the Long Beach breakwall
Yeah unless your cover large areas
Aliex I was planning to pick the sportsman 106 tomorrow but am having doubts. Would you recommend this kayak for tidal waters? I’m not trying to go off shore or anything but I’m in the mid Atlantic region and I’m surrounded by a lot of marsh and tidal rivers.
You can hit 5mph is that enough? A 12 ft you can hit 5.5 maybe so
I’m in the same area and have used it on the Severn. I crossed the whole river by the bridge my first time using any kayak. It’s amazing
Hay Im 5'3 do u think I could peddle this yak
You should, the seat moves forward quite a bit
What size kayak paddle did you use in this
hi, the paddle i was using is this one (amazon affiliate link) amzn.to/3UDngVV but i would get an adjustable, this one is 240-250 very good (amazon affiliate) amzn.to/3WDzb8U
Seriously looking for my first pdl kayak? What’s better native slayer max 10 or this?
I compared both here, i answer that question th-cam.com/video/oFYaetIcaTc/w-d-xo.html
@@AliexFolgueira cool. That’s what I want actually native.
How tall are you? Do you think someone over 6' would be comfortable?
ohh yeah, i'm close to 6
This is some damm good contend
Thank you 👍
That’s all the kayak you need because your a little guy, but for tall people it’s no good for us. I’m 6’7 255 lbs. and a tiny kayak like that doesn’t give me enough leg room.
Bro I'm almost 6 ft tall, way above average
What does TH-cam not like about the video? Don’t they give a reason why?
the original video had "i worked my butt off" i remoted, they still demonetized it. this one i remove the "youtube is not fair to me" lets see what happens.
Aliex, with today's fishing kayaks, I can't see just paddling. I love my fin drive, and my motors. I still get my exercise because, we still paddle once and a while, use a pushpole, but paddling all day, or in tournaments, no way. My 1st motor was a $100 Minnkota 30 lb thrust trolling motor on my 1st kayak. 🌊🎣🛶
