Yes, you are so right about the high prices. I’ve had some success in politely challenging a thrift store manager on an item I really wanted but knew was overpriced. Lately I’ve been feeling shocked about how much stuff there is in the stores. It’s just crazy when you think about all these once loved items and all the stuff people have in storage centers, not to mention all the new stuff that’s being produced and loaded onto shelves😂. The planet will collapse one day. …. In the meantime I’ll keep thrifting 😂
The glass creamer is American Fostoria,, I love it,I recently thrifted 8 bread and butter dishes of that pattern and paid$5 dollars and 20 cents for all of them! I'll use them for desserts!👍
@@ThrilledThrifter *Julie, your creamer is made in the, "Cubist" pattern, and it is Depression glass, and made by American Fostoria, as your previous commenter said. 😊*
Hi, I agree with you. I feel if the prices were reasonable, they would sell more as well. Now and then, one can get lucky, though, and find the treasure. Love your videos. I've been hooked on your channel now for a year. Thank you, blessings!
Julie, I totally agree. The pricing has gotten out of hand. We were spoiled with the great prices. But we have to remember that Goodwill is a privately owned business for profit. Hopefully, they will hear us complaining and reduce some of the pricing. Have a great weekend. ❤
Heart cut-outs in wood - especially like the ones you saw and don’t like - are not primitive! They’re straight out of the 1980s!! That kind of wood decor along with geese (especially with bows on their necks), tiny florals in blue and pastel maroon on beige wallpaper, the whole nine yards is ALL ‘80s decor, LOL. Ugh. Can’t stand it! 😝Yes, hearts appear in prim decor, but they’re typically found in punched tin lanterns, in samplers, or in prim paintings. Head over to Bridgett’s Primitive Passion to see some prim hearts used the right way. Love the video, Julie! ❤
Hi Julie, wanted to tell you that I have been enjoying the new way you first show us what you have purchased, by putting them in your shopping cart. Thanks for taking me with you thrifting.
I enjoy your videos so much. I love seeing what you find and how you style it. It’s terrible Goodwill puts expensive prices on products and they are donated to them.
I will assume they are hearing about so called resellers on TH-cam and are pricing items higher. Not fair to those people just really needing items for a reasonable price.
Hi, I agree with you "Why is Goodwill so expensive??" 😢 I'm wondering because thrifty has become so popular?? The nerve of them, did they forget that Goodwill IS a thrift store?? SHAME SHAME on them!!! Today I was at the Salvage store , it was white tag day, which means anything white tag is 1/2 off. W E L L good luck to do g white tag. I did notice their check out lines we're busy, hmmm Anyways I do so enjoy your videos. 😉😊
On the Rural Refab channel, I saw the thrifter/decorator tacked chicken wire on an open box like that on one open side. She used it with the chicken wire side up and put her dried hydrangeas in the holes until it was full!!! Sooo pretty. Luv all your treasures and creativity!!!❤
2.2.2024. Happy Friday Julie. Great finds at your recent Thrift store. The little basket is so cute. I am glad you found the waterproof cover for your grandson bed. I was 923 thumbs up on this video. Wishing you a lovely weekend. God bless you and your beautiful family. 💞
🙋🏽♀️I agree with you about the heart shaped wood cut-outs in wood! I don't like them. Lol! I think it DOES remind us if the 80's! 😂🤣🎯 I also don't like the dusty blue and mauve colored items/paint. I grew up with that back in the 80s/ early 90's and can't stand it. I know those colors are coming back but I strongly dislike it. 🤷🏽♀️ I would have snatched up that wood bread box though and that cute little oval picture frame was adorable!💯😍😉👍 Thanks for sharing & I pray you have a blessed day in TX! (In my southern accent) I'm in NC & a country girl like you)😁❤
Dollat Tree does carry a wire rack like you were looking at only in white. One thing you might like from Dollar Tree is almost clear plastic shelf liners for your refrigerator. They come in a package of three, labeled as "Cutting Boards" but they work perfectly to line the shelves in your frig. That way, if you get a spill, you just take out the liner to clean in the sink and then return it. Easy-peasy. Blessings, Janell PS The little cut glass creamer you showed was Fostoria Crystal - made in Ohio in the 1930's- 1950's. The pattern is still easy to find in thrift stores, but antique shops carry it as well.
I agree I'm very disappointed with GW pricing. If things were not donated it'd be different. If they continue raising prices GW will be a place we can no longer afford to shop.. Sad☹️
That winterscene was gorgeous. It s not spring yet. I would have bought that! I would never ever pay 10 dollars for 1 plate! I wished we had more linnens/fabrics That litle basket is so cute I love the wicker heart. I have something simular hanging on my front door I finaly found a bread box. They are always for just 1 loaf here. Thank you for sharing X
I will keep complaining about those prices because to me it seems so ridiculous that is stuff that is donated literally free and they charge so much for them. Also I do not like the heart cut outs on wood I seriously despise them.
I agree with you on the unreasonable prices Goodwill is charging! Just gotten greedy on items they got for free.Love your videos and have watched ever one of them!!❤
I believe the thing that looked like a chamber pot is a soup tureen. It looks older to me, very cute. It would be fun to put some nice soup in to serve the family (rather than how I do it, which is serve it right out of the pot!)
I totally agree with you about the high price of Goodwill, and I noticed our Resource store has started raising prices. I have thought if they wouldn't charge so much, they would sell a lot more, which would make up the difference and not end up in a landfill. People that are struggling with the cost of living don't even have a chance. We used to go to Goodwill when I was a kid because we didn't have a lot of money.
Fun video Julie and nope, no hearts for this girl either. My style is very primitive and I agree the hearts were a trend in the 80’s and I like the 1880’s style not 1990’s lol😂. I agree prices at thrift shops on some things have crazy prices, especially since it’s all donated. Love that little basket and the recipe on the towel🤎🤎
Just wanted to tell you that if you come across a wood piece that you love and it has a heart cutout that you don't love...lol...you can glue a piece over it and disguise the heart shape cutout...many craft stores sell small decorative wood pieces that can be glued on and painted or stained...some people even use IOD molds with air dry clay and make decorative accent pieces that can be glued on and painted...hope this gives you some inspiration somehow to do something like that so you don't have to pass up a piece that you otherwise would love to display in your home😊😊😊
@janesickler5497 *I told Julie exactly the same thing! 😁 I hope she reads both of our comments and if she runs across a piece of furniture in the future that she loves, but it has the cut-out hearts, ❤️ she WILL BUY IT and cover up the hearts with a filler like Bondo and then uses moulds or laser wood pieces to cover that part and make it beautiful 😍 in HER style to perfectly fit into HER home's decor...great minds think alike, Jane⁉️😉🤪🤣 I appreciate you, Jane❣️ 💯%*
Everyone's decorating style is different. Yes, hearts, ducks, bears, and stars are all very 80's, but alot of people do still like them. There are ways to cover them up or hide them. I recently asked my son and daughter-in-law about my son's old toy box that I was planning to update for their first child and they wanted me to leave the heart cutout alone. I recently found an enamel ware bucket painted with a very 80's cutesy teddy bear. A little bit of really hot water and some elbow grease, that cutesy teddy bear peeled right off. Things can still be updated if you don't like it and are willing to do the work. A lot of the brass, glass, and baskets I see people decorate with were also very 80's. I love your videos Julie. That wall paper you showed reminded me of the paper that was in my bathroom back in the 80's. It was the same style and texture, just different colors. Yes, I've heard wallpaper is making a comeback.
Hi Julie, I find the prices have skyrocketed as well but someone told me that their rents have skyrocketed so they have to pass it on to the consumer. I don’t know about Texas but here in Canada the rents are out of control. As always, love your channel❤
I'm getting here late. Just wanted to say thanks for taking us with you. Great haul - as usual! That tall basket thingy that would look great in a corner -I had one just like it. I only remembered it when I saw it here. 🤔I guess it's in my ex's house.😳 Now I gotta try to talk him out if it!🤨😉 The pretty creamer you bought. My husband (current- not ex 🤣) has the salt shaker to match. I found it in one of his stashes. This one in the cabinet above the fridge. Just salt, no pepper. But I thought it was so pretty that I have it styled with a few other mismatched pieces on top of the microwave. We've been married almost 20 years. He was collecting 30 years before that. I was also a collector.😮🙄 A lot of the time, when I wanna change things up, I shop his storage places. I don't hafta leave home & I can't beat the prices!😉
I just want to tell you how much I love your channel and appreciate how you share your thrifting adventures with us. When I’m in a store, I lose my phone no less than 3 times! Don’t know how you manage it, but thank you!
Hi, I watched your latest and you said you're having a yard sale. I love yard sales. I go nearly every Saturday with my daughter here in Cali. I think I would enjoy a video of your yard sale. Just a thought. Thank you for all your inspiring videos. :)
Once again a great haul Julie. Totally agree with you about the pricing, absolutely getting ridiculous . I went to the mission store the other day and saw a couple of things I liked , went up to the counter to pay and felt like I was in an interrogation office , the assistant inspected both items i was purchasing on the underneaths and proceeded to tell me they really should be priced higher ( not my job ) I bought them because I liked them , sadly a-lot of the thrift stores assume we are all sellers , I like you , am not . I just love the whole adventure, but in a split second she ruined it and actually made me feel like I had done something wrong!! Have a wonderful weekend x
Prices of rent and utilities and insurance and wages have gone up . Look closely because alot of people there are not experts, some of them are just great full for a job . Its still cheaper than Walmart or shopping on line . Plus the fun is in the hunt . Have a nice thrift !
Enjoyed the video so much, Julie! Thank you, also, for telling us about Kelsea’s channel. I always enjoyed seeing her and Kara’a content on the family chamnel and was hoping they would start a channel of their own one day. Blessings!!! 🥰
Isn't this a rerun? I think I saw this before and commented. I remember that glass frame or coaster. I think I wrote would Iput a round photo in an cover with laminated sheet.
Love the glass creamer for putting toothpicks in. I have a vintage sugar bowl that was my mother-in laws that I will now use for toothpicks. Thanks for inspiration.
Went thrifting last week and found some really nice runners and a couple of books at a local thrift store. Also some really cute dresses at Goodwill but I do agree their prices are being hiked up on certain items. As usual I love everything u got and how u have the flair to style it!
The high price really are unfortunate. Hopefully this will encourage people to shop at small business thrift stores or even Antique stores that can have better prices. 😊
I did google Lane & Co. white eagle plate and found a few priced around $23 to $39, and the listing said it's a vintage oyster plate. It looks like your price for the day was $1.29!!! Love your videos so much, I enjoy shopping with you and seeing how you style things!
Julie I agree goodwill prices are totally getting to high on donated merchandise. It's bad in my area . You had a good haul love that glass creamer pretty cut design. Enjoyed ❤
You are absolutely right with the prices in Goodwill’s, they are wait to high. Also the glass cup you can pour so candle wax and it will looks beautiful. Good luck with Goodwill’s prices. Also they are going to take away the rewards they give. Thanks for sharing
I’m looking for a candlestick phone here in Fort Worth. There is one at the antique mall for over $100, and they’re always more than that online so I’m not too hopeful about thrifting one😀. All of your haul turned out really pretty!
You leave so many great things behind😁. Our goodwill is overpriced and no longer giving veterans discounts. Shame on them. 🙏🙏🙏 Your home looks really cute❤️😊
Hi Julie! I love that tall basket you showed us in the corner. I definitely would've grabbed it, especially to change out the florals for different seasons. It would've looked great in the corner of my living room. That tie hanger would be great to hang Summer tank tops on. As for the high prices I've been shaking my head all through the video. Slow down Goodwill! You made some great finds and I love the way you styled them. You have a great day ❤
My dad made us girls a corner shelf unig , the top header had the heart cutouts. Since he is ni longer with us I could never part wifh it. He made it with his own hands with love. I havent been thrifting but my son does and goes to GW. He recently found a heavy small lamp shade with roses on if. On the inside of the shade was a very small signature of a Tiffany woman. Cant remember her first name right off hand. The shade looked to be very old and heavy!
I don't even go into our Good Will store.. its basically a used clothing store, the rest, what little there is, is just junk. Here in our area, where i live in Tennessee, there's just so many local owned thrift stores & antique stores. There were some nice baskets in your store and i loved the white comforter, it was beautiful! I pretty much got all my blankets/quilts and linens thrifting. You scored some nice pieces and loved how you styled them! Going to Ck out your daughters channel😉
I found 4 of those wicker plate holders at a thrift store. I use mine with my paper plates like we did many years ago. I love getting styling ideas from you.
the prices are so random at GW.... Our GW in central Ohio charge 2.99 for a coffee mug, 1.99 for a drinking glass and a whopping 5.99 for one of those little throw blankets. The worst pricing in our area stores are quilts and bedspreads, they are asking 19.99 up to 28.99, which I think is HIGHWAY ROBBERY! I had to break and watch Kelseys channel. So happy to see some of your family back o here. are you still doing the thrilled thrifter family tv channel? Will your other daighter be starting a channel soon?
Enjoy all your shopping finds and how you incorporate them in your home. I was told the Goodwill, Salvation Army and other thrift stores went up on their prices because of the people buying from them as resellers for Ebay and other on line sites. They feel like these stores are for people who really need things for a family of low income. They are trying to detour them from coming.
Nice little hayl.i love the way they are decorated. Good job.yes my good will is very expensive. I ask if they could do better on avitem. They looked ar me as if i had two hesds. Lol. I was told that is it. They wouldnt budge...oh well they will price them out of a store. Some things i go pay full price if i have to pay the outlandish price, i might as well getbnew. So sad !!! Take care 🙂 ❤❤❤❤
Julie-on the Pfaltzgraff, it’s very hard to buy unless you find it from a yard or estate sale. To buy it online from resellers, the shipping is more than the piece! So, when you consider that there is no shipping at GDub, 10.00-13.00 is really not too bad.
As I mentioned, since I'm homebound now, I watch a lot of TH-cam. The resellers have taken over TH-cam. There are new ones everyday. You, Danielle, & 1 other I watch are the only ones who I see who thrift just for their home. One channel the people were waiting in line outside for GW to open to get the best stuff to resale. So...the demand is greater & prices are up. I saw that thrifting is "trending ", but when that fades the prices will drop I think .
It’s the same in the UK, the prices are ridiculous in some shops. Just today a wood frame £7, and a thin blanket the same. They would normally be about £3.
Those “beach rolls” go on a chaise lounge. There is a round pillow on one end. Makes a lounger very comfortable. The price is less than half of a new one!!🥰
I agree. Goodwill prices have gone crazy. I no longer shop there. I am fortunate enough to live in an area where we have Volunteers of America. They are more reasonable at least for now. Also they discount everything to 50 off once a month as well as color code tag discounts.
*Julie, I personally L💜VE hearts - but like you, I don't like cut out hearts in wooden furniture, either. However, if I like the piece of furniture, I will purchase it and FILL IN the open heart ❤️ and cover over it with a moulded design out of wood or casting resin...something to completely change the look and make it my style. It is something you can consider if you find a piece of furniture with a cut out heart 🤎 so that you can fill it in, paint, or decoupage the piece to make it your own style, 😅 and create something wonderful for your home.😊 Moulds are a wonderfully economical way to upcycle, and moulds can be used repeatedly to get new looks - tying everything together - for your home furnishings, without breaking the bank‼️😉😁*
I’m thrifting now at a local thrift store and they have everything in the store 50% off. They do this every month. I just forget but came when they opened today for it. Found things and decor that only need and has a purpose .
After digging so hard for that shelf, I would have gotten it if it was in my price range because you can turn it on its side and still use it as a riser.😊 Just a thought.
I'd buy ththe corner basket and leave the flowers behind and replace with dried hydrangeas ,the gold mirror and paint it black, wooden book easel, small wooden breadbox, the glass decanter for mouthwash and the canning jars.

Awesome video 😊😊😊😊😊
Hi Julie great finds. You were on a roll with the $1.29 price tag lol 🌼🐔🌼
Shocked to see you buy the very modern candle holders. I know how you love primitive.
Excited to see Kelsie s channel.
I have decorated my whole home in thrift store finds, and buy my clothes & shoes there, and I always get compliments on both
Don't feel bad Julie, I don't do anything heart.😁
Isn't this a rerun?
I think I saw this before and commented.
I remember that glass frame or coaster. I think I wrote would Iput a round photo in an cover with laminated sheet.
This is not a rerun. I just went Thrifting at this goodwill the day before I posted it here.
Love the glass creamer for putting toothpicks in. I have a vintage sugar bowl that was my mother-in laws that I will now use for toothpicks. Thanks for inspiration.
You’re very welcome. Thank you for watching!
Went thrifting last week and found some really nice runners and a couple of books at a local thrift store. Also some really cute dresses at Goodwill but I do agree their prices are being hiked up on certain items. As usual I love everything u got and how u have the flair to style it!
That is awesome! Thank you ☺️
Great haul and perfect how you styled everything, loved the little basket and the heart!! ❤❤😊
Thank you 😊!
Hi, Julie😃! Love your posts! Yes, Dollar Tree sells organizational wire shelving. But they are weaker in strength…
I love wallpaper!
Loved the white slender pitcher with the dark veining 😯😯
I’m looking for a candlestick phone here in Fort Worth. There is one at the antique mall for over $100, and they’re always more than that online so I’m not too hopeful about thrifting one😀. All of your haul turned out really pretty!
You leave so many great things behind😁. Our goodwill is overpriced and no longer giving veterans discounts. Shame on them. 🙏🙏🙏
Your home looks really cute❤️😊
You have a great day ❤
I like to give gifts to people at church, especially the elderly, so I love the ideas that you share.
Oh that’s amazing!
Thanks for sharing your thrifting with us! Love it all❤
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Oh wow x
I have a basket addiction. 😭 they’re great for organizing or just to use as decor!
I so agree about the hearts. I quilt and I can’t sew a heart either. I also don’t have a reason why I don’t like hearts especially on wood.
Happy Friday
Same to you!
It’s the same in the UK, the prices are ridiculous in some shops. Just today a wood frame £7, and a thin blanket the same. They would normally be about £3.
Hello Julie, family, and fur babies. STTB
Heart cutouts definitely remind me of the 80’s!
love this
I'm totally ready for spring...hopefully early this year...enjoy your thrifting videos ❤😊❤& sharing your home...
Yes! Thank you!
You got a lot of cool things today. Yes some of the prices were really high. You always do a good job decorating.
Love the little basket! Nice haul!
I’m thrifting now at a local thrift store and they have everything in the store 50% off. They do this every month. I just forget but came when they opened today for it. Found things and decor that only need and has a purpose .
I love that cabnet under the beach matts
Thank you for the toothpick idea in the little glass creamer! I have one just like it!
After digging so hard for that shelf, I would have gotten it if it was in my price range because you can turn it on its side and still use it as a riser.😊 Just a thought.
I agree! The prices at thrift stores!! 😮
I fully agree with the prices! Ugh.
I'd buy ththe corner basket and leave the flowers behind and replace with dried hydrangeas ,the gold mirror and paint it black, wooden book easel, small wooden breadbox, the glass decanter for mouthwash and the canning jars.
