Thank you for watching, you can find all the paint, products and home decor on my website www.juliesdesignsandsigns.com/ and don't forget the check-out Sherry and Teresa's Video- They are linked in the description.
Girl, you are such a natural! Loved all of your projects today, but those orange fabric carrots with the stamp were perfection! You come up with the best ideas! ❤
Julie. Imo, the best part about your show is when you go on a haul, and you take it right back to your house and while you're showing us all the wonderful pieces you bought, you will pick up an item and start to tell us how you are going to upcycle it and you Stop. You smile real big and you're eyes get wide and you tell us another wonderful idea that just formed in your mind that you think is way better than your original idea! Best ever!
OMG! You and Teresa and Sherry are my top girls to watch! I'm so excited to see this colab. As far as your flips go, you did an amazing job with that orange skirt. I can't decide on the carrots. I thought I loved the large carrots with those cute little buttons down the front more than anything else in the world......but then you had to go and stamp on the small ones and now I can't make up my mind. The bag was perfect .The way you decorated it was crazy good. And as far as the books go...you could have been taking pictures of my house. I have books everywhere, using them for risers, under cloches to hold a candle or something even more fun and interesting, just anything and everything my mind imagines. I was salivating when I saw all of those scrumptious books at that estate sale. So happy you were able to get so many.
Loved the stamped carrots! If you get old crusty books, you will want to examine them for bugs. I have bought several that had bugs crawl out as I was reading. Ugh!
*Actually, it is a vintage jar opener; also works with some bottles with screw-on lids. There are similarly styled can openers, too. 😊 I love vintage kitchen utensils and I own both types, friend. 💚*
Julie, it's always a pleasing surprise watching the creativeness flows from your fingertips. Yes indeed, you are Inspiring! Orange has been this ol' gal's favorite color forever, so i can't help but choose your carrots as my fave. It doesn't hurt that the orange color is considered to have a balancing effect. : )
I’ve never used books as risers but you got me thinking. It’s a great idea. Loving the little lamb you did. I love using that rust combo. It’s so cool how it works. Loving rusty crusty items. ♥️♥️😊👍👍
Oh my goodness. That bunny cake pan is beyond wonderful once you sprayed both sides with both patinas!! The linen skirt turned bag and carrots are so cute. Love the stamp on the carrots and pockets. Great video!!
I'm going to be honest with you. I thought when you cut the skirt I wasn't sure what you were thinking 😂, but Julie you knocked it out of the ball park. Your right it reminded me of the cloths pin holder that my mom had also.❤❤❤❤😂
That patina spray trick on the lamb 🐑 is awesome 🤩 and I was on the edge with where you were going with that orange skirt lol 😂 but Grandma and my mom had the clothes pin baskets too. I forgot about those and the one you just made looks so authentic 😮 TFS ❤
I was fortunate many years ago to find a bunch of beautiful old home decorating books - different sizes - some cute small ones in beautiful weathered shades of blue & green - they are some of my most treasured items - I was in real estate, construction & design my whole working career & have always been sooo into home decor, so those books are especially endearing to me - I guess I’ve always been thrilled to find old books that not only have the aesthetic I love, but also the subject matter - I’ve always also loved etiquette books & have some great vintage ones & also was lucky enough to have some of my favorite childhood/tween books - Trixie Belden ones were my favorite - does anyone remember those ? Anyway, love, love books & I actually read a lot, too - lol - as always, greetings from sunny Central Florida 😎
I really enjoyed this flip challenge; I hadn't seen very many of them before. I'm afraid i am still using my books as books--I read them! I use them occasionally as risers but I have to find book club type of books if I am going to upcycle them for another use. I couldn't bear to destroy a beautiful vintage book. I have bought art books with the intention of cutting out prints and often relent and put them in my vintage booth to sell!
I can honestly say that your decorating ideas have been the most inspiring to me. I find myself watching and stopping the video to go make a change in my own decor based on what i am seeing in yours ... You are amazing, i want to make the skirt bag, it would look so cute hanging from my vintage ironing board. Thank you so much Julie🤎🧡💚
I loved the carrots Julie! I was going to say the one with the buttons was my favorite, but I loved the others with the stamp on them too. I thought the paper towel holder turned artwork display, was so clever. Good job in this Showdown Julie.
Ha! I have the same reaction as you when I find old books. My mom is 94 and I have some of her old school books. One is her reader when she was just little. It's really falling apart...that's the best part! I also have old family members bibles. They're beautiful. 😊
Oh, Julie,,Great Demo for us BUT,,I REALLY REALLY APPRECIATED HOW YOUR IDEA OF STAGING OUR BOOKS AROUND YOUR HOUSE WAS SUCH A HUUUGE HIT FOR ME BECAUSE I GATHER BOOKS BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO DISPLAY THEM!! SUPERB ❤❤❤
I took an old fashioned curio cabinet with glass shelves that I have had for many years and filled it with my best old books, rustic decor and weeping gold vases and dishes. It looks dramatic and was a nice change.
Absolutely love those Carrots. Going to look in my favorite stash for some bright orange. The buttons from the skirt really made it look awesome. Love love love your new DIY'S.
Julie, your home continues to evolve and is beautiful. I volunteer at our local thrift store and love staging the merchandise we get in. Thank you for so many ideas.
So creative! Gotta say I’m lovin’ the smaller carrots. I have the blue and white vases/decor in my dining room for a few years now and never tire of it. Hugs from Texas🤠❤️❤️
That little green handled thing is a jar opener. I have one with a red handle and I use it all the time. I even use it to open laundry detergent and liquid fabric softener lids when they are too tight. I couldn’t be without it!! It’s very handy! If mine broke I would definitely be on the lookout for another one!!!
I found you after the first thrift challenge with Sherry. I have so enjoyed your channel, and that beautiful accent of yours. I'm from SC, and I love our southern accents. 😊 That little lamb turned out so very gorgeous! And the wreath/art stand from a spindle...what a smart idea!

Yes, it was neat how the cursive writing Julie stamped onto the fabric, resembled the soiled grooves in freshly pulled carrots. Very Cool!
I can't believe how well that lamb turned out. It's amazing.

It’s the best darn jar opener ever! I have one and use it daily.
I agree I have one that must be 40 years old
I have one that belonged to my grandmother. And I've had mine about 30 years now 😊
Mine has a red handle, good kitchen tool
I got mine from my mother. It has a red handle. I have had it 45 years!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the collab, they are my very best TH-cam friends. I'm still sad about the books I had to leave behind at that sale 😪
Girl I knew you had to make some carrots out of that orange skirt! So glad you didn’t let me down! The bag was adorable too❤️
Loved the stamped carrots! If you get old crusty books, you will want to examine them for bugs. I have bought several that had bugs crawl out as I was reading. Ugh!
I quit Going to our library because they had bugs in their books
The green handle is a can opener.❤
*Actually, it is a vintage jar opener; also works with some bottles with screw-on lids. There are similarly styled can openers, too. 😊 I love vintage kitchen utensils and I own both types, friend. 💚*
Love the carrots and oh my gosh that lamb!!
O my goodness, I would love to find a lamb pan like that and make a beautiful cake for Easter. But it makes a nice decor piece too.😄

I also love the Chinese blue pieces. Many years ago I had a $10 ginger jar which I had made into a lovely lamp and I still use it. Classic is classic.
