    How cool is mmW? I suppose it’s as good as the use case but this video was really fun to make. What would you use mmW for? Sorry for one of the screen recordings going haywire! 🫡

    Nice but there are many that are MUCH MUCH cheaper than the $87 for Aqara Presence Sensor. Yes there are places where you might need all the bells and whistle's of the Aqara but 90% of the time one of the $20 ones will work just fine.

    Great vids, I'd love to hear more about the back end set-up and what is required to make the whole thing come together.

    Verisure's and it's new wifi vision system also detect intruders through wifi! Kinda revolutionnary, alarms are gonna become one single device, like gamgee and it's wifi system

    The FP1 is slightly better in the sense that it’s zigbee as opposed to wifi

    What device are you using for the lamp? How are you connecting that to the sensor? I have watched your smartphone vids however I need a more breakdown/ how to guide. I’m just starting a smart home from scratch and trying to figure things out. Would be good to have a series of some sort from you breaking down a how to guide in an order that people need to start

    I'm confused. How are the devices linked to the mmw sensor? Are they linked through Google Home or something??

    • @giannisd961
      @giannisd961 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      homekit is like google home thats how different dvices are linked

    • @jamiedraper8031
      @jamiedraper8031 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Homekit is Apple's version on Google Home. The mmw Sensors can detect when you are in its presence and use that data to trigger routines. The routines link the other devices. That's typically how these are set up in smart homes

    Out of interest does your dog trigger the automations?

    • @TheAppleFreak
      @TheAppleFreak 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In theory, no, as there's tuning designed to avoid pets from triggering them. In practice, I've heard they're a little inconsistent.

    I had one. It was when they first came out. It was great when it worked. It was a bit a pain to set up and get right. In the end, I sent it back.
    I think it would be great for a long room like yours. I hope the software upgrades have made it better. The first update I got did.

    There is certainly still a case for "old fashioned" IR detectors - they are a lot cheaper!

    You are wrong, I suggest you do your research and have a look into Wi-Fi RTLS! And yes, a radio signal can be used in much the same way SONAR is whereas sonar uses sound waves RTLS uses radio waves.
    The AI-powered program talked about analyzes the difference in the density between outgoing and incoming signals and is able to create a wireframe of the surrounding room and people within it.
