    yo, i was confident to buy after seeing your video. I am at 6000 miles now and just done my tune up. I can see this bike can last if u do keep up with the maintenance. it does have some tiny flaws here and there but no biggy. all problems can be solve with after market parts.

    Hey:) Grate video:) I am glad to hear that you had so little issues/problems with the 701, it makes me love it even more:D I am woundering tho some friends of mine are saying that the supermotards, like the ktm 670 or 690 suffer from lots of vibrations in the bike when the tuning exhaust is on, and that makes the bike uncomfortable to ride a little longer distances. How is the 701 in terms of vibrations, is it possible to take it for some longer rides like 180 miles or wil you be tired like F?

    • @MotardSteve
      @MotardSteve  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've did 8 hr days and several hundred mile trips on it and it's not viber at all. The newer engine 2017 and up barely vibrates at all due to having two counter balance shafts.

    • @LordBooozE
      @LordBooozE 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Better hanguards, bashplate, case savers, may be change the gearing to suit your riding. I thought stock gearing was super tall I use 15/46 but 15/42 would be great for a mix of riding

    • @MotardSteve
      @MotardSteve  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My bike had the Euro map on it when I picked it up from the dealer and mine is a race exhaust so no baffles/db killers at all

    Would you recommend this over a mt 07? How do they compare?

    • @MotardSteve
      @MotardSteve  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well depends on if you want to be able to off-road or jump it. Power wise they'd probably feel similar, but the Husky will have the longer travel suspension for off-road as well as the options for off-road protection. I'd say if you're mostly riding street. Go for the 07. I ride an 09 now and it's a beast. Still very much feels like a sumo as far as seating position but that motor is insane.

  • @BryanBee
    @BryanBee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi man, I love your videos, I'm a Californian transplanted to The Philippines and the street and dirt riding here is amazing. No police here it's lawless man, no tickets, it's just fun!! Get wild, what the fuck! I'm a retired speedway rider, and I love the dirt riding, but actually I ride the street much more than the dirt. I want the Enduro 701, but I sat on it at the KTM Dealer in Cebu, and it was hard to reach the ground and I'm 6'-1" and I ride with the dirt riders but a new Husky 701 seems too nice to thrash around in the Philippine jungle and mountains and crash it. The more I look at the Super moto, the more I'm liking it....But we have shitty roads here, lots of road construction and wild shit. Dogs run in front of bikes all the time, so I'm thinking the Enduro with the 21" front tire for safety running dogs and wild animals that run in the street..... But the super moto looks pretty bitchen too! I'm kinda torn between the two, so you have any ideas man? Thanks so much for any input, I'm so in love with the Husky 701 what a bitchen bike.
    My last bike for 10 years was a Honda XR 200 I sold, so this is a massive upgrade no matter which 701 I get! Any ideas?? Thanks man.

      For the price buy a new one, you know how the bikes broke in that way. Plus huskies come with 2 year warranties. A new one is not too much more than what he’s asking for a brand new bike. I know it’s got upgrades but I’d pay for the peace of mind knowing how it’s broke in. Big difference in 3000 hard miles and 3000 easy rode miles.

    I have a really tricked out DRZ SM which i absolutely love, but the 701 and the Aprillia SM are my dream bikes. I do not race SM professionally or anything, much like you I just hoon around for fun. So, honestly, do you feel the Husky is worth the extra $5,000 over what you get from the DRZ SM? I still want one but I am not one to piss money away either. And yes, I know the 701 has bigger HP .

    • @MotardSteve
      @MotardSteve  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends man 701 will have the hp advantage and displacement advantage when it comes to highway or long distance but it's very much a bike of excess, nice to have but I wouldbt say its nessacary for the type of riding we do.

    • @JoshuaDomoslai
      @JoshuaDomoslai 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The DRZ hasn’t changed since it’s initial release in the year 2000. It’s a 20 year old design that’s slow and heavy. Sure it’s reliable, but yes the husky is twice the bike the DRZ is so it’s worth twice the tag

    • @MotardSteve

      I mean it's softer than a mx bike but I've never bottomed it out and I've never adjusted it but it has clickers to adjust the rebound and compression. I've had a dr650 and it's nowhere near as spongey or soft as that.

    I've been looking at buying a 701 for a couple of months ago and finally made my way to the dealership see it. The Husqvarna sales rep happened to be there so I asked him about the oil leaking problem that most owners seem to have, although he told me he hadn't heard anything about it. What's up with that?

    • @MotardSteve
      @MotardSteve  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's just bad o rings it cost nothing to replace. You can buy the whole kit for like 30 bucks and it's just where people dont torque their sprocket nut to the right setting or their chain is too tight, or sometimes you just get a faulty seal. Its not a huge issue. I rode several months with mine slowly leaking and eventually fixed it.

    • @aidan4943
      @aidan4943 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MotardSteve oh wait I meant oil burning if that's a different thing. You talked about lots of your friends having the issue in your 5k video.

    • @MotardSteve
      @MotardSteve  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh that's from people babying them from new. Basically in summary a new engine has a bit of a rough surface on the cylinder and that rough surface is there to help break in the oil ring/wipers and when people baby the bike by not creating enough pressure from engine braking and aggressive acelleration the end up with loose fitting oil rings which causes oil to get into the combustion chamber and burn up. It mainly from uneducated owners not knowing how to properly break in an engine look up my video "how to break in your new motorcycle" it explains it all alot more in depth
