- Diy smoke tester:
Fed up of paying garage prices to diagnose a problem?.....
If its rough idle, poor rev range, engine light on, boost spike, irregular engine speed or a misfire, these could all be signs of a leak in your engine.
The diy smoke tester is a cheep and easy way to find leaks in your engine that you may not see while the engine is running
All you will need is;
A jar with a sealing lid
an old soldering iron
a length of tube
bicycle pump
strong glue
3 tyre valves (or a cut up bic pen)
A word of WARNING: keep an eye on your pumps pressure gauge, do not exceed 15psi

Excellent video.
To save more money I harvest baby oil using a cider press and a sock filter. Extraction is much quieter if baby is asleep before processing which should be done swiftly to avoid annoying neighbors.
make sure the baby is fresh or else it will burn
I spent all my money on a Snap-On toolbox now I got to make homemade tools
you got that right 😂
Excellent video and information. It's innovating the idea of using a soldering iron. Much easier to build the smoke machine. Thank you for sharing 🙏💪💯
thank you 😎
Great video man, I'm going to put one together. I like your green Snap-On boxes. I couldn't afford Snap -On so I went to Harbor freight & grabbed a couple green U.S.General boxes.😂
i spent far tooooo much on tools 😂😂
Quite clever of you ,hope u get tons of likes, every mechanic should have a smke tool as this. good on u mate.

Good method.
Glad you think so!
Hello, I want to ask how the smoke inside the container is created with the help of a soldering iron and baby oil?
The soldering iron heats up the baby oil to smoke point
I made something similar to this but I used a one quart mason jar and already set fire in the jar with lighter fluid with a rag and put an air compressor fitting on it to 5 -10 psi with 2 shutoff valves on the in and out port. Works just as well. Although I don't see how baby oil is flammable. ?? Can anyone answer that ?
I'm not sure if it is flammable or not but it sure do smoke well
@@Project380Have you put a flame to baby oil?
Hi Can this be done with a glow plug?
to check if a glow plug is leaking ? yes
use a glow plug instead of soldering iron? probably a bad idea, glow plugs get far too hot
What is the safest way to store this when not in use? Especially since the rags are soaked in oil.
ive put it in a cardboard box in my toll box and kept upright, its not leaked and its not flammable so all is good ✌
@@Project380 will this help find a p0446 code
video que valen oro
gracias 😎
The easiest one to make is with one hose. Someone blows cigarette smoke through the line.
Thats an old school way 😉
Hi, what size diameter hose/pipe did you use to fit on the valves? Also where did you get the hose from? I'm also in the UK.
6mm i think
@@Project380 thank you.
Fucking BRILLIANT ❤❤❤
