i made the mistake of texturizing my hair to do a “length check” before dying it. BAD idea. i couldn’t just straightened my hair, dyed it and then revert it back. but i wasn’t thinking, i lost my two precious years of having my natural fro and was literally DEVASTATED when i realized that i made the mistake, but i have 1 year of growth and i cut them nasty colored ends off like fake friends and i’m NEVER even looking at a box of that texturizing crap again. if i wanna dye my hair i’m doing it with naturally straight hair or dying my natural fro

I agree with not going to bed with wet hair. I’m guilty of falling asleep with conditioner in sometimes 😭🥴 but if you do wash and goes, going to bed with wet hair is a no no. All them hours you spent will go down the drain because you will wake up with frizz, I promise. Investing in a hooded dryer is the best thing I’ve done for my hair routine 🙌🏽

@@a_2502 lol i understand. i would get braids all the time but never understand why my hair wasnt retaining length...it's because i wasnt taking care of it in the braids! now i oil/grease my scalp 1-2x a week and moisturize the actual braids every couple of days. you still need to take care of your hair in protective styles!
also, i never would trim.....idk i was just down bad lol. but i've noticed my hair is much healthier now that i implemented those things :)

I’ll never get box braids again. Took a break for a year did twist hair was soooo thick and healthy .. got braids and my hair was set back for like 6 months worth of progress. So I’m back twist. Tbh I started to feel pressured to getting braids to look better bc of some comments that were made. I folded and now these are the results. Respectfully I’m ganna start telling people to kiss my ass. I want longer hair idc if I look like Celie.

    • @KrissyFizzle
      @KrissyFizzle ปีที่แล้ว +3

Box braids can be good if you do them yourself.
You should try learn to do them yourself if you weren't already. Bc then you control the tension, and how much moisture is put in before, and also can control how many you put in.
      That might help.
Every time I do box braids on my own hair it grows.
But same time do what works for you, but I'd suggest to do them yourself

my never is "letting my hair get too long". i've had natural "4c" hair all my life & it got to waist length. I finally cut it short & the freedom... the freedom? it's magnificent!!
like, is this what the mens have been gatekeeping? lol I save time, money, energy, & *sanity* (after getting over societal standards/pushback for not having long hair).
besides the expectation for it to be short, I totally get why most guys don't bother growing out their hair.

I've made many mistakes, though, on using rubber bands at the roots, not detangling my hair immediately after taking it out and shocking my hair with scorching hot water, and more. And I do treat my hair like it is plant-a living thing. Point is, I learned a lot of hair tips from you. I'm subscribed everything. Thanks for the tips. Keep them coming.

I just used mousse for the first time yesterday and loved it! Defined my 4c hair well so from now and my hair isn't really dry. I'll be only using mousse from now on and see how my scalp changes. This might be a dumb question don't come for me lol but the protein products, does it just say it has protein or it's certain ingredients? I want to make sure I don't use too much. My scalp will start developing dandruff after 2 days of putting nothing on my scalp, but that's usually if I put a cream or oil on my hair strands... I got more to learn lol
    1. Never not spraying sulfur 8 on my scalp every other day on loose hair or braids (so freaking lazy & then I wonder why I suffer lol)
    2. Never going over 3 months without a trim
    3. Most likely never using creams and butters
    4. Never being impatient when detangling

By temporary hair dye do you mean rinse or semi permanent? Because I want to try semi permanent but I’m DONE with rinse.. I hate it

Yess I had fungus behind my ear because my hair was wet and it also was wet behind my hair. It looked like dandruff patches but behind my ear. Never again.

I will never use a wide tooth comb to detangle my super knotted hair. I will never go a week without clarifying. I will never shampoo my already matted hair, always pre poo and detangle.

I am no flat ironing my hair.
I have this 4B/4c thing going on with some 4A in the back.
My silly self always starts in the back and lines how it looks forgetting that the majority is 4B/4c and it reverts back so quick.

A Jherri Curl. My mom swore up and down that it would make my hair grow. It got so heat damaged that I had to cut my hair and start over.
