gamers are spoiled , this year we got, Tekken 8, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload, Helldivers 2, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Dragon's Dogma 2, Stellar Blade, Hades 2, just some of the biggers names and we still will have Elden Ring dlc, Star Wars outlaws, Avowed, Dragon Age, KCD2, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Assassin's Creed, Indiana Jones, calling a year like this mid is criminal

@@arnaldocosta1298 GREAT comment, I get so tired of, "gamers" complaining about the state of gaming. Like you listed there are so many great games and franchises out there right now. I just finished Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth and loved it. To be fair Ive played the entire franchise. Steller Blade has been amazing and Elden Ring expansion coming out in June. That is THE problem with Joe and his channel. GREAT entertainer and good reviewer, but if it isnt multi player or Star Wars/Marvel he doesnt play it. Those listed games have been having it rough of late and Joes audience think gaming is in a bad place. So many great franchises Souls, Yakuza, Persona, Nier, Nioh that this guy doesnt play.
Im currently mid way through Steller Blade and ER expansion coming out in June. I still have the Dead Space remake and Armor Core in my library. Look how many times he went back to the state of SWBD or Battlefield 2042 but never revisited CyberPunk after Phantom Liberty.

I don't know how they let that man just destroy the brand so badly. I bought 7 consoles across PS1 - PS4 (some broke) and yet I have no plans to buy PS5. Will rent one from a rental company to play GTA6.

Damn that intro for concord seemed like it was going to be a new third person open world esque team centered story game just to turn into another shitty ass overwatch game looked like it had potential the world SOMETHING SEEMED RIGHT in those cutscenes how tf did they think “yeah let’s make it an arena fps shooter that there’s millions of already”

Dynasty warriors and monster hunter looks pretty cool, they were my favorite part of the state of play. Concord doenst look terrible but I don’t think we really need anymore hero shooters

Not only are they (badly) ripping off Guardians of the Galaxy with the character designs and style of humour, but given the design of the logo and the music choice, it seems they're also doing the late 70s/early 80s thing, like GotG. They're not even trying to hide it.
Also, that Lennox guy looks and acts like if Starlord and Yondu had a baby and then dropped him on his head.

When you are Sony and the most interesting thing you show during the exE3 window is the "sequel" of your free Tech Demo, you have ended ideas. Rest of the presentation was games that already exhist (Silent Hill 2, Path of Exile 2, Until Dawn, Monster Hunter) or Overwatch clones (Concord, Marvel Rivals) and Dark Souls inspired games.

Considering games take 5+ years to make now, this was in development at the height of the MCU (and I think Overwatch was still kinda ok) so being in space with a bunch of rando aliens means bargain bin Guardians of the Galaxy
That Concord game would be so much cooler if instead of being a 5v5 game, it was instead something like Hood. Where you and other teams go in for a heist or a mission, and make it unique where you COULD work together and split the profit, or you could work together only to stab them in the back to get full rewards, or just not work together at all and fight it out while doing the mission. There are so many ways to make that idea interesting and a basic 5v5 gamemode is not one.
But you get to pick your pronouns! 🤦♂️

This game justifies the $70 price tag, there are 80 levels spread across 6 galaxies, 15 new abilities, 70 new enemy types (including bosses), 300 bots to rescue and 150 PlayStation characters. This game honestly sounds MASSIVE, especially for a platformer!

I just spent the last 6 hours getting absolutely sucked into Dave the Diver and I had a grin on my face to ear to ear the entire time. It came out last year. I spent $15 on it. 97% of the 100k reviews on the game are positive. I've got my money's worth and I'm 10% through the experience. But for channels like Angry Joe, making videos about how good Dave the Diver is won't get views. I guess its just easier to be angry

Expected Demon Souls PC Port atleast, got God of War Ragnarök instead, dissapointing as hell.
It seems like Bloodborne PC is gonna be one of the greatest missed opportunities from Sony.
Bluepoint Games is too quiet since their Demon Souls Remake. Wouldn't be surprised if they are working on a Bloodborne remaster/remake with plans to release around on PC a year after the PS5 release.

29:40 Monster Hunter World sold 25 million copies. Why would Capcom try to make radical changes now? Being more open world and just new monsters with different movesets and skeletons/animations is enough when the base gameplay is that good to keep you hooked for 400+ hours.
I don't think you talked about DBZ Sparking Zero like at all this year and there's been like 3 trailers with a bunch of character reveals. I know it's another Budokai Tenkaichi, but we haven't gotten one of those in a while. You said you were a fan if that specific style of game right? The big arena fighter, not the 2D traditional one like Budokai 1/2/3?

With Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, Pacific Drive, Stellar Blade, Helldivers 2, and Rise of the Ronin coming out early in the year, it makes sense Sony doesn't have anything big for later in the year.
I really just want to see some new racing games from Sony. Driveclub 2, or a Forza Horizon competitor... I miss the PS2 era flood of great racing games

The thing I hate most about Hero shooters, they're all like those mobile games that show this long crazy cinematic just for it to not mean a damn thing about the actual game.
It is quite sad when the only two things that somehow excited me were PC version of GoWR and Astrobot… just sad that he will not be on PC.

Until Dawn is a great game! I do recommend it, but as someone who's already platinumed it (you have to get 4 different endings), it's not worth it for me unless its like under $20 and they've made changes to the story and make it somehow different from the original.

Joe would you play multiversus now it returned? The Intro gave me chills. It feels like a complete game now but the daily login menu and some assets reminds me dragon Ball legends.
After looking at Concord, cutscenes look cool but its giving me OW combined with destiny. Noticed some destiny-esc abilities used here, for instance warlock icarus dash, various g-nades, etc. It personally doesnt intrest me as there are to many 5v5 and not willing to invest into another.
No Spider-Man 2 DLC or Wolverine news. And none of those games looked interesting at all. I was very disappointed in Sony smh.

@@Deliveredmean42 the games here were all either games we knew about already or games that looked incredibly generic. The only new standout was Astro Bot because it looks like an actual FUN, COLORFUL, 3d platformer video game instead of a walking simulator or any game that has blood and gore with gritty graphics and dark colors for the millionth time.
The rest were overwatch clones, soulslike clones, irrelevant VR games on a system nobody has, generic warriors game, generic anime waifu game, and remakes/ports. Wow what a great lineup.

ANY studio/developer/publisher would benefit from listening to what the fans want. It’s a shame that with as much social media that we have now and the ease of access to it, they choose to ignore what would be gold mine ideas.
Probably because the people that make big decisions arent gamers at all.
The problem is that there are so many opinions on the internet, and just because something is said a lot doesn't actually mean it's an opinion shared by most.
It's incredibly hard to make marketing decisions based on information from the internet.
That said, if they actually polled fans on what they wanted in an organized matter they COULD get that information, and then act on it.

I'd check out Concord but wouldn't want to spend much on it if anything, Astro Bot looked cool because the one that came with PS5 did the PS5 justice especially featuring the controller functions.
hopefully koeitecmo's dynasty origins will give many great customization options to make our own custom characters like in dynasty warriors 8 empires+9 empires. maybe the ajs would be interested to try dynasty origins if they can make their own likeness in the game to do crazy kungfu shenanigans.

Path of Exile is awesome but I think they need to reduce some of that noise in their textures, hard to read. Reminds me of the times when everyone put detail normal map noise on everything to look more realistic and next gen and hide compression artifacts
Concord would be better as a singleplayer game. The cgi trailer has potiental as a singleplayer game.

There’s no need for a PlayStation 5 to enjoy soulslike games. Interestingly, all the games showcased at the recent State of Play event are available on multiple platforms. 😄

Hot take: this is an "off year" for Sony in that they don't have one of their usual big, narrative-driven single-player games. But isn't that what a lot of you guys have been asking for? For them to do something other than third-person, single-player action games? Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has them covered on that front this year.
So far, they have released Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade, which most people seem to love. Both are completely outside of their usual comfort zone. Concord looks fine. You really gotta play this kind of game to become enamored with it. And there's gotta be a reason they completely canceled the Deviation Games project and purchased Firewalk Studios. They see something in Concord. And then there's Astro Bot, which fills the woefully undeserved 3D platformer fans. And, if Team Asobi's previous work is anything to go by, its going to be great.
If Xbox were the ones releasing these games, everyone would be saying it looks like they're getting their shit straight finally.
The reason Sony doesn't "take more risks" and make "weirder games", as so many people claim to want them to do, is because every time they do, no one cares. Concrete Genie? Gravity Rush? TearAway? Puppeteer? The Last Guardian? You guys bought like 30 million copies a piece of The Last of Us, God of War, and Spider-Man and like 200,000 copies of all of those other games I listed combined. Hmmmm. Wonder why they haven't made Gravity Rush 3.

The second you mentioned Xbox you exposed yourself as a fanboy. These multiplayer and PC games are the games Xbox has been putting out last Gen and early this Gen. Now finally Xbox is getting their shit together with single player games, RPGs, Action adventures etc. This year's content lineup and going into next year looks much better on Xbox if you are a SP fan of western games. @david53444 The second I made a fair comparison, you mean? Hi-Fi Rush is in line with these riskier games I listed, and everyone sung Xbox's praises for that game last year. Even though it was almost certainly in development before Xbox acquired Bethesda.
