I've never actually heard anybody call this a cod killer, but i have heard people say "everybody is calling it a cod killer" 20 thousand times.
Agreed, the debate over it being a cod killer or not is far louder than anyone who has ever claimed it actually is.
Some people just want a game that isn't cod and not have that mean to go play battlefield, a drastically different style game. Not sure why people immediately leapt to "omg these guys are trying to kill cod".

Also ubisoft: makes the first person shooter with classes and special abilities. not to mention, the price of three skins is the price of a full AAA game.
Not gonna lie I had one percent hope for this game when I first heard of it, but then, when I found out it was by Ubisoft, I immediately pretended it didn’t exist
It's a great game, 10x more fun that CoD has been in years. This AJ review is actually a really weak take but he's really not their audience so it's no surprise.
@@MrBocco1 actually, as an old school CoD fan, I think Joe's review is pretty fair. A 6/10 is about what it deserves, maybe a 7 when they add a bit of content and fix bunnyhopping (never in CoD could you airstrafe back and forth in air off the same jump like in this game, it just destroys immersion and game feel).
I feel like Ubisoft sticks Tom Clancy's name on anything resembling a "military shooter"

The game was rebranded back in March 2022 to no longer use Tom Clancy's name. They did it exactly because of this sentiment that people felt like the name was tacked on it just for the sake of it.

But sure, 2024 has been a down year for games, even more than 2021 because you only did 3 angry reviews in 6 months and focuses more on movie/TV show reviews than angry game reviews. Yeah i could very well see me spend 2-3$ on decent/ok skins if i like the game. But no developers demand a minimum 10$ for skins at best. Definitely think they would sell more if the prices was waaaay more reasonable.

Maybe I am pump rock fan or whatever its called, but from what I have seen, I actually like these xdefiant skins, I think the style they are going for is appealing. Sure it is weird to have such style in a shooter, but they obviously aren't trying to go after serious realistic vibea, thats why they took Tom Clancy's name off from this, cause it was stupid to have it. I do not play these type of games, so I am not being a fanboy, but everyone I have seen, says that these skins look terrible, and I see where these people coming from, but I think these skins are cool, thats my personal opinion. I would hate them in Battlefield game, but here I think it works.

My favorite part about all this is that these issues were brought up in alpha and beta tests, months and even years ago. They are still present and while giving ubisoft a hard time about it, their response was that "it takes time to make changes."

As a solo player, I like this WAY better than COD. As for all the jumping beans, they do that shit in COD too. As an x-military man, all jumping with guns should be taking out of any realistic type shooter. Soldiers don’t jump with guns!

Just keep in mind, call of duty is a $70 game that Monetizes like a free to play game
and it's EXTREMELY spammy. Constant slew of popups and highlighted store tabs to draw attention. The clowns I mean 'operators' have destroyed any sense of immersion.

Amen! The only games I play of there's is Far Cry and I've never been tempted by their micro transactions.
Personally, I do not play online games, so it is easy for me to say, but I just never touch free to play games, I do not mean it as insult, but it feels that these games are for kids who can't really buy games yet, Free to play is instant turn off for me, because you know its not a charity, why should I ever want to play a game that is designed to nickel and dime me, it sounds awful. I want game where I pay up front and the fun is now mine. I know there are supposedly good free to play games like Path of exile or Warframe, but I never even got into those, because it has to be a catch.

I was looking some games on discount yesterday hoping to get some good deal and most of them where just lowering the main game price while having ton of DLC and add-ons that to get the full experience you still needed more than just buying a full game in the old days. So the discount for the main game is just fake really. It just makes the game slightly less overpriced.
@@SIPEROTH Yes, I know man. I believe SIms 4 is now entirely free, but I remember vanilla Sims 4 being complete garbage, so you get that for free, but then all the DLC packs are like 40 bucks each. Same with Paradox games, they discount stuff like Stellaris and Europa, but these games have like 500 dollars worth of DLC. I love stellaris tho.
I remember playing FIFA long time ago, maybe it was FIFA 2006 or something like that, and it had amazing system where it had unlockable content and you got points from just playing game or doing fun challenges. You could unlock ball skins, uniforms, all star teams etc. It was fun, because system was built simply to make it fun. Then they got rid of it and it took me few years to realize why that system is not in their games anymore. I realized that system brings them no monetary gain, and now everything in those Sports games built to intentionally not be fun, so you would pay them real money to make it fun, its insidious.

The hit detection in this game is horrendous,you'll dump a whole mag into someone and they're still full health..
Or they will be at 1 hp only to melt YOU easily with less bullets. It makes zero sense

I'm glad we got an angry review quickly but I wished that he would've done more for games like Helldivers 2, Palworld, Dragon's Dogma 2, Stellar Blade (I know that he has a rapid fire review and Alex is great at reviewing but still), and FF7 Rebirth. Joe claims this month is going to be a down month but we have Shadow of the Erdtree for Elden Ring which will be a big thing this month, wish he would've done that as well since he gave it a 10/10 instead of leaving it to Alex(who i don't mind, since he's a big souls player but i would like to hear Joe's take on it as well).
Not much to the game.
Lets be clear about the bunny hopping, the main issue is that you can strafe however you want mid-air. As in, you can sprint jump left, and immediately defy gravity and momentum by moving right mid-air. Almost like a tap-strafe in Apex.
So people jumping are wiggling around in every single direction
It's stupid and should be removed, I was shooting at a dude. He slide canceled jumped and then storages a whole 3 ft to the left and killed me. That's the exact kind of thing that is going to kill. This game. Same with the game split gate. Super fun to play but the portal system got waaaay to complicated for most people and the game died. Fortnite and it's building is another example of that. People want straight shooters that prove gun skill. No one wants to die because of ability cheese 80% of the time. 😊

UPDATE FOR EVERYONE, bunny hoping ubisoft has realised the issue with it and apparently in a future update they are gonna be nerfing snipers and bunny hoping
Just a fyi back in 2022 beta day's they said netcode/stable servers were there top priorty.
november 2023 devs said they are working on hit detection and netcode.
So give them 4yrs to fix bunny hopers
Bunnyhopping and the movement is not an issue.

Hey Joe, maybe you could pay some more attention to the sound level mixing? It sometimes goes from mid level sounds where it's you in front of the green screen, to very loud when it's a skit, to very softly when it's a streamclip. Makes me think of cable tv :)

That was great. Made me realize that OJ is in great shape. Maybe it will sound pathetic for younger readers, but I am around same age as OJ (unlike OJ, also look the part, that young looking a-hole...), and it does not seem old, but maybe it is old, because made me realize that if you wanted me to jump around for 15 seconds like that, it would be kind off hard now haha. I am not 20 anymore :( Also need to lose same weight :)

Stellar Blade, FF7 Rebirth, Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin, Tekken 8 and other games that in fact came out recently in this year would like to have a word with you 🤣
Edit: Just because some people are not interested in these games, doesn't mean 2024 is a down year for games in general when there are great games like Stellar Blade, FF7 Rebirth, Helldivers 2 and Tekken 8 that came out this year and lot of people have interest in them and loved them. I'm not even counting Black Myth and Phantom Blade 0 which are coming later this year. Sure it maybe a down year compare to other years. But if we gonna compare other years, 2024 is nowhere a down year for games when there's 2014 and 2021. Like what games that came out in those years that are big titles like FF7 Rebirth, Stellar Blade and Tekken 8? Regardless, the reason why I even made this comment in the first place is because I was disappointed that out of all games that came out this year, Joe decided to make an Angry Review on XDefiant and gave those a short rapid fire review and I believe that all these games deserves to get an Angry Review if compare to a free to play game. And then to say these two quotes is just wrong.
true enough. this is why I never bother expecting any big games from Joe. expect a game to review that HE LIKES. if its something similar to COD he'd definitely prioritize it. because of course...american.
@@raisevilla2753 Yeah. I guess the only games he's good at are fps like COD. I saw him GOW Ragnarok gameplay and it's so painful to watch. I really think he'd love Stellar Blade. I was worried that game wouldn't even get a rapid fire review because they never acknowledged the game's existence. But I'm glad it atleast got acknowledged by the AngryJoeShow and Alex giving it 8. I had a feeling that Joe would've dumped on the game only because of EVE's body if he reviewed it instead.
An above average Neir clone, a remake, helldivers 2 ill give you, no one's heard of this one, and the 8th entry in a fighting game franchise lol

Stellar Blade is not above average if you even played the damn game and the only aspects it was inspired by Nier is similar story, inspired combat animations flair and inspired design. And Helldivers 2 is beloved by the entire world. Many people heard of it, it's just you. FF7 Rebirth is a remake. So what's your point? He reviewed lot of remakes including the first part of FF7. MK1 is the 12th entry in franchise and he reviewed previous 3 games. So again, what's your point? Out of all these games that deserved to get an Angry Review, a free to play game gets an angry review instead and they get a shot rapid fire review? Yeah, how I exactly proved his point, my guy? If anything, you proved my point even more by making this comment. And the fact that you liked your own delusional comment is so funny 🤣
Edit: you could've worded it more clearer by saying something like "I'll give you a point with Helldivers 2" or "you got a point with Helldivers 2". What does "ill" supposed to mean? You made it sound like you're talking about illness. And then saying "no one heard of it this one" after that without even describing what game your talking about made it even more confusing. Not everyone can understand other people's words if they weren't clear enough. So who's the moron, again?

My theory on netcode issues is both lag compensation and movement/action prediction techniques. The same things that have plauged games for over a decade. If you see a hit marker but it doesnt register thats probably because the client predicts the hit but it was actually a miss in server space.
Someone should take other joe in that custome and make him into an actual character in the game

He only does real Angry Reviews for AAA games or AA games that pop off (and are borderline AAA anyway). He'll only put in the effort required for one of these reviews if he's assured the general masses will know of said game and thus watch his video.
It's why he only does a couple of these a year now. Used to do 12-16 a year, now it's down to 5 or 6.

@@leiplays-wf7ez Helldivers 2 is a bit of a mystery, but Dragons Dogma 2 was big in gamer circles, but idk how much mass audiences would have flocked to watch a review on it. I have a few casual gamer friends and I'm positive some of them never even heard of it.
