I agree with this, but I’m actually kinda excited for the new AC. They actually added a bunch of new stealth mechanics and the combat looks pretty fun with animations that actually connect and without spongey enemies like origins and all the games after. Also they added some sorta AC brotherhood feature where you can use Assassins recruits which is mad interesting. Prolly won’t live up to the trailer if it’s 100 hours, it’s gonna taper off in quality

So sick of these expensive giant games these days. I have a library of games to finish still and zero desire to spend the money or time on these new games coming. Im taking a financial hiatus from games for the first time in forever and it feels liberating. These giant corporations can stick it.
Right like I got like all the warhammer games to finish the last 2 tomb raider games games like civ 6 to play through including civ 6. Spell force 3 and like 50 other games that have open worlds and all kinds of hours of gameplay. Including switch games I got to play through yet. Like only games I'm buying are games like boulders gate 3 or manor lords. cause you can tell the devs actually care and deserve the money.
Yeah, I tend agree with the sentiment... I like to think there are only 2 more games that I really want... maybe 3 if I include wolverine... and aside from that, I'm done.

The AC games have usually have great native language voiceovers, the France game had better French voiceover than English, Mirage had amazing Arabic VO.
The Mirage arab dub was incredible. First Farsi dubs in a videogame was done for The Lost Crow. Ubisoft always deliver great dubs
I'd expect a French publisher with it's studio in Quebec to have a decent French dub.

they're great for people who want a plausibly authentic historical time-capsule game for the time period they're set in. Despite the troubles around the Japan game, I trust that they'll be able to deliver on _that_ at least.
And this despite the troubles it recently had. Still don't like the price tag. Culture war enthusiasts are gonna come back to it, but they'll leave again. I don't care. The whole "discussion" exhausts me, I have way more things to worry about irl. I love Japan, I loved Tsushima, and there's no way in hell some chud is gonna convince me to not play it just because it hurt their snowflake hearts.

It was so janky. Those NPC models look awful and the combat looks even worse. You'd think about reskinning the game 100 times they'd improve a few things.
Last assassin's creed for me was unity and It was awesome, story was wack tho.
Assassin's Creed, like most other games, is a "buy it 5-10 years later bundled with all content for $10-$20"...and even then I'd only ever play as the Shinobi.

Agreed, can't wait for that one. But have a strong feeling it's going to need a year or two of updates and DLC before it feels like a full game. I mean, Anno 1800 released without a production panel, making it impossible to know what your supply/demand was.

I don't know about y'all, but I thought Outlaws looks good. Can't trust Ubisoft to show the genuine game, but hopefully it's a solid title.
Exploration looked cool. Combat looked immensely uninteresting
Has great SW vibes but the gameplay feels like average Ubisoft bullshit. Seethrough walls ability, tagging enemies with binoculars, covwr shooting mechanic, splinter cell type mark and kill system, like in Read Dead etc.
Many youtubers have played the game during this event and it's gotten amazing reception

Comments seems mixed in here. Some liked what they saw others didn't. I'm personally just meh on Ubisoft these days. Nothing blew me away or got me hyped.
I got kinda hyped for both star wars and shadows. Both look really interesting and fun so far from what I have seen

lets not forget ubisoft has shown 'gameplay' for games in the past that ended up with big downgrades at launch. Examples like Rainbow 6 siege and Watch dogs come to mind. Cant really trust them until the actual launch day and independent reviews come out.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was a lot of fun for me and it was my first entry into the franchise. Excited to have another reason to dive back in and I do need to check out Rogue Persia at some point.

I won't set any expectations based on the gameplay they show in these events. Does anyone remember the Watchdogs showcase? Your hands-on experience with the game is going to be vastly different than what they are showing you.
That was more than ten years ago. Show me any recent game that has downgraded. People actually say they get better at launch verses the showcase. There are comparison videos online. GoT had a much bigger downgrade than any Ubisoft game from the last several years.

Microsoft showcase isn't about deep dives and not to mention we got PLENTY of gameplay. Over 30 games shown and every single one of them besides Gears of War had gameplay. For them to deep dive on every single game shown the showcase would've been over 8 hours long. Ubiflop has 2 games to show this year, obviously they have alot more room to showcase those 2 games and show ample amounts of gameplay. It's not even remotely close. Xbox showcase was 1000000x better than whatever this was

gun play in outlaws looks awful though. Watch that sequence when she comes out of the building into the firefight again and how the AI just literally stands there and takes it. Its not going to be that fun or deep as it they try to make it look.
I honestly don't expect great gun play from most starwars games, ever play dark forces ? I just hope the rest of the game is interesting. But I will wait for reviews before picking it up.

Star Wars Outlaws looks....okay? I guess I will buy it as soon as it goes on a sale. But I am excited for Anno 117. It's actually a fantastic city builder series and an Anno set during Antiquity is exactly what i wanted.

AC Shadows looks like it has two styles of play; brute force with Yasuke and assassin/stealth with Naoe. I'm guessing if you want an "assassin style" playthrough, you you play as Naoe.

There’s nothing wrong with putting on a concert if you have a good soundtrack you’re proud of. Ubisoft’s problem is their games are soulless trash, so putting on a big spectacular show with a sweeping score feels like more than their corporate products deserve.

I don’t get why he’s mad about not having it in Japanese… The very first game told you that the animus translates the spoken words of memories for the users to understand so it makes sense that everyone is speaking English for the user (I.e the player) to understand
@@ninjaboy2942 Joe and the others have been very explicit in their dislike of the modern aspect of AC from the beginning. They have no interest in the story beyond the current Assassin setting because it breaks their "immersion" to be pulled out of the past because of the greater narrative. They are not fans of the series. I bet they would be just fine if the Animus is never brought up once.

Because one second y'all are saying "he was really a samurai", "it's based on a real person in history" but now you're saying "lol, the game isn't supposed to be historically accurate". So, if it isn't supposed to be historically accurate, why did they not use a made up JAPANESE male protagonist like the female one? If it's not supposed to historically accurate, why is Yasuke himself here? Why choose a random foreigner who contributed nothing? So it's only not historically accurate when it's convenient to suit your narrative.

Do you think there was really an assassin's group with hidden blades and figures? There has always been historical REFERENCES in the AC games which Yasuke is one. Is that why haha. That looked pretty bad at best. The VA sounded bad, the combat looked meh, and even the stealth looked a bit clunky for what you'd expect. Ubisoft has been teasing Japan for like a decade and now that its finally here this is what they put out. Forget about the historical accuracy, this looks very mediocre considering how big this game should've been.

Love how they showed a bunch of gameplay for AC: Shadows and Joe didn't like it but they showed only walking and like 1 minute of shooting for Outlaws and he loved it XD

The quality on AC showcase was low most likely because of the rain, falling leaves and the sparks, that kind of noise the particles generate messes up live stream quality, rookie mistake from Ubisoft

Just regarding the beginning sequence in the starship, it's getting on my nerves companies add things to games without putting any thought at all in them like the "barrel roll" in your ship. It's clearly a fucking useless maneuver and will have no gameplay use whatsoever. It's only in there because some cat lady thought it would be ha ha funny to have a barrel roll like gandalf said in phantom clones.

I don't think I've ever played a Ubisoft game despite being a gamer for 26 years. No Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Prince of Persia, or anything with Tom Clancy's name on it. I'm still a big Star Wars fan, though. So, I'm hoping the stale Ubisoft formulas I've heard about for 15 years will seem fresh when I eventually play Outlaws.

Star Wars Outlaws and AC Shadows look really good, day ones for me. Also you can fly your ship in Starfield but it’ll take forever to get where you’re going.😅
The only exception here IMO is AC Shadows with Naoe. Naoe gameplay actually looks like an innovation on the Assassin formula and AC genuinely looks like an assassin game again. The Yasuke half looks boring though, yet another warrior brute in an open world.
Funny how they are now doing an Assassin's creed in Japan when people had been yelling for years that would be the ideal location for a game and Ubisoft said "never in Japan" lol.
