    My mom got me this machine used in about 98 when I was 10. I still have it and it still works like a dream.

    I have this machine, handed down from my aunt. It's amazing to this day. It has done some beautiful things for me. I absolutely love it.

      Hi Penelope, I just recently bought this machine. Do you know if you have to put a card in to do just sewing and stitches?

    Forgot to mention that it is not my only Viking. I have a 936 serger, an 1100, and a 2008 Designer Diamond.

    Bought at a estate sale and used it several times and it sews just fine. Now when I try to wind the bobbin it winds about 10% and pops off the spindle.

    I also own this model, but I had to recondition and service mine from a parts and repair used machine off ebay, had fouling of theads inside and lack of lubrications,...I used the usual silicon grease and synthetic oils were plastic was associated and clear sewing machine oil on metal to metal contact areas. At least on mine it works like new now, as far as I can tell, I have all the cassettes these call for and the ultra rare S service card I had to repair, found out I could modify a card that didn't even work in this machine to work just by breaking off a tab, so now I have two service cards, I suppose those come in handy if I ever replace a part or something comes unscewed, or I need to test operation of electronics according to the service manual I have on cd and in original print. I mean, we are talking hundreds of stitches, I don't do much sewing but I will to shorten/hem five new pairs of sale price jeans I bought, for work, and repair other things, already collecting the usual spare parts like foot pedal and spare motor....A little trick for the stitch cassettes, that mine, most of them were showing rot of the rubberized face, and I used acid free thick book binding tape overlayed across the disintegrating figures, just in time, its amazing how they all were pretty much going to fall apart and irreplaceable, including the old red number service card, it looked okay but upon use it cracked at the rubber front parts showing the numbers, so it got an overlay of plastic. Without that card I wouldn't have noticed which card to modify.

    Do you know if there is any way I can adapt this to a computer with embroidery unit. My machine is still working fine. I finally have time to play with it now.

    Help Please....My Dad just gave me my Mom's viking #1. I have not sewed for decades and was a beginner even at the time. I have loaded the bobbin and was ready to go but the wheel and the needle is not moving at all and I know the foot peddle/power works fine while loading the bobbin. This has not been used in probably 15 years I would guess. Any thoughts on why the wheel won't turn and the needle will not work? I have a project I was hoping to finish this weekend and am stuck. It is hard to find to much detail online as the machine is an older model. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    my wife is trying to find a manual for this sewing machine - any ideas where she can find one?

  • @stephanieb.18
    @stephanieb.18 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Edward, it appears you haven't had any replies. I have a manual for the 1100 Series but not the 1200 series. It is somewhat similar with the biggest difference in the directional sewing features. The 1200 has them and mine does not. If I can help, let me know.

    Hey, I have the #1+, I'll have to get out my omnigram cassette and do the bunny, I haven't tried it in many, many years. I got this machine way back when it first came out and I used to do the bunny on my kids clothes. My kids are all grown now and don't want bunnies on their clothes. Were you having trouble with that one? Are you going to upgrade to the new top of the line Viking? I looked at it but don't think it's worth the ridiculous price tag.

    I am sorry that is what I have.....I forgot to put the + sign on here. I have done hundreds of embroidery with the little cards. There is a web site Loralie Designs
    that I adore and she sells many CDS of her fantastic images. I adore this machine even though I have had it for a long time. Got it when it first came out....
    early 90s I think? But I do not think I understand how to make those cds work?

  • @tabasco14
    @tabasco14 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    IS there a way to use CD's you can buy for embroidery on the viking #1? In other words a way to hook it up to a computer to be able to use something like that? Thanks
