    This is so great! The other tutorials don't explain how to use different stitches with the foot. So many more possibilities! Thanks!

    OMG I've had this foot in my sewing room drawer for 8.5 years, never knew or cared how to use it, when I bought the machine it came with it. Of course I just haven't looked for any instruction, however, I believe I will go play with it tomorrow and see about the darling stuff I can come up with. I'm using my granddaughter's machine while mine is being serviced and I'll have something to show her when she comes back next weekend. TY for making everything so clear.

    Hi have you tried using a fusible interfacing?, also using a tear off or water soluble backing as well really helps. I struggled a lot at first but this worked. I have plate to cover feed dogs but it kept popping off so tried covering feed dogs with polyvinyl electrician tape ensuring i leave a space around the needle hole. This works every time. The tape does not leave sticky residue and when i take it off i leave it on the side of my machine to use again. !!!! do not use sticky tape!!!!
    Tips
    Thread needle with presser foot up ensures it goes through tension disks
    Check using correct bobbin for your machine ensure it us wound correctly
    Set lower tension 3-4 is good for me but you may need to adjust depending on stitch chosen and material
    Ensure your sewing piece can move freely and does not get stuck in throat area of machine. Practice in smaller pieces of fabric
    I use 90 (14) universal needle but for thicker embroidery threads and glittery threads embroidery needles might be useful as have larger eye
    If am just using stabiliser i find i can use 80 (11) universal needle
    Hope this helps someone 😊

    Just got my foot today and couldn't wait! Worked great right out of the box. This tutorial made it so easy to understand, too. Wish my machine had more fancy stitches to play with using this foot, but ohhh the ideas that have popped into my head already! The only thing I can suggest to others who buy this foot, if you are going to sew onto one piece of fabric, use a stabilizer of some sort with it.

    Hi!
    I had seen many of your tutorials, very well done, good explanations and clear. You are a good teacher.
    I have a low shank computerized machine which works marvelous with lots of feet. The only 1 I can't figure out what is wrong, why doesn't do any flower, and I tried all about thread tensions, I use different types of fabric, always with the proper film behind the fabric and zero...my machine doesn't do anything. The up thread line simply doesn't stay on fabric most of the times...but does all the other complicated padrons without any change on the machine. I only put again the feed dogs. When I lower them to use this foot, the stitches come up and don't stay. I locked the 1 ones. I even bought a second foot to see if the problem persist and yes. I am so frustrated. Everyone is doing nice flowers...

    • @merlefernandes5863
      @merlefernandes5863 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My machine has a similar problem. It's not picking the thread n making a stitch but going all around without picking threads. Hv you figured out the problem. Would be really happy if you can let me know too

    • @wakeupherewego7245
      @wakeupherewego7245 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@merlefernandes5863 Hi! I think your machine and mine do the same problem. The upper thread simple don't stay on. Sometimes one or another stays, but the majority don't. Than there is a big amount of thread in a " head" under the fabric. Doesn' t do any flower.
      Would be very nice if the lady who posted this video, could say what she knows about, or if she doesn't know. Any other person who can help?
      Or have a similar problem and sorted it out? Can you please say what is the solution?

      "Sewing Parts Online
      3 years ago
      Hi! If the thread isn't catching, I recommend changing your needle - ideally to a topstitching needle."
      Also, found this question and answer below in quotes: if you need that as well :-)
      " when shifting the foot over minus or the plus sign....should the needle be up when moving it?
      The needle should be up while you are moving it. If you're doing a circle inside a circle, only the foot should move. The Flower Stitch Foot kind of acts as your new feed dogs".

    • @wakeupherewego7245
      @wakeupherewego7245 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@incanada83 Oh thank you for all information.
      I will write them and try all. I can say that I think , I am not sure, that i had tried with a brand new needle for thin fabric, as it was that kind of fabric, but with the one proper for embroidery behind. About moving the width of the circle, I do put the needle up, which for what you post is wrong. But 1 things 1. You mean should be a brand new needle, and for the fabric I am using right?

    • @incanada83
      @incanada83 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wakeupherewego7245 You're welcome :-)
      Well, according to what the Sewing Parts Online suggested, you may have to try that specific sewing needle.
      But aside from that, I have a suggestion : have a look at this tutorial (watch from the beginning to end) because it explains better the whole process.
      I think it is about fabric choices and stabilizer.
      Either way, it's interesting, not long , and it may help you? I know I learned few things from it !?

      It all depends on what fabric you're using and what kind of stitching you're doing. To sew decorative stitches on woven, medium weight cotton, a light-weight cutaway for fusible stabilizer should work nicely.

      Hello! I am not showing that this flower stitch foot is guaranteed for your machine; however, after doing some research, it appears you have a low shank machine. It would be a great option to try.
      As for pulling up the thread, after your machine is properly threaded, you manually rotate your handwheel towards you while holding the top thread and you can carefully pull up the thread. If you would like a visual, please watch our Beginner's Guide to Sewing (Episode 1). This is explained at 9:38. www.sewingpartsonline.com/blog/beginners-guide-sewing-ins-outs-sewing-machine/
      I hope this helps!

    Help.! My machine is not forming stitches. Just going round like it would stitch a flower without actually stitching any thing

    Is there any way of aligning the stitches, e.g., circles or flowers in a straight row?

      Sherry Fradley Each "flower" is done individually, so if you wanted to make a row of flower stitches, you would have to mark with chalk and reposition your foot. Give that a try and let me know if that works!
