So glad you shed some light on Boris Diaw man. I was a freshman in high school during this Finals, and I remember seeing the impact Diaw had on that series. Not that he was the most athletic, dominant or best playing on the floor, but he had that Draymond impact where he moved so well, his passes were on point and he just knew where to be at all times. Up until that point, I thought of him as just a backup 4 to use for boxing out skinner forwards, but this series solidified his role on the most unselfish team, arguably ever. Like I said, he’s not the best or most athletic but his positioning and reading of the game is top tier. And to answer the question, the 2013 Heat is also my favorite team of the 2010’s 😅 I’m a huge LeBron fan and seeing him dominate, the 27 consecutive win streak that year, the dunks, stats and highlights that team put up, all perfection. I still think LeBron should’ve won the MVP unanimously that year.

Would be interesting to see more of these such as the 2011 Finals with the Mavs or even how Golden State’s run overshadowed Lebron’s impact in those series for the younger/causal crowd

Great video with great takes in my opinion. Personally as a Pelicans fan that team with AD, boogie, Jrue, & Rondo was so good that we really believed we could've won it all with those guys if boogie didn't get injured & they all stuck around. They all left and won championships on other teams basically as soon as they each left; well except boogie, who declined a contract with the Pels & signed with the Warriors on a minimum, and they lost in the finals for the first time since acquiring KD. That was mostly due to injury of course, and Kawhi Leonard lol. The 12-13 Heat was crazy & imo that was the best version of Lebrons prime, at least physically anyways. It was also crazy to live through that warriors dynasy especially once KD joined. Spot on after 2018-2021 too much movement in players and it became drama. I don’t think this generation cares about basketball like in the 90s, the culture of the northeast, Jordan culture is fading and so will the league . Sport is becoming about betting and we don’t have the time to watch games like that anymore with social media
This was a solid ass video! Definitely recall the 2014 Spurs but didn’t remember how much they really sparked the three movement. I knew they definitely influenced small ball and spacing more but forgot about their threes and how lethal they were. Also real ones know about Diaw, honestly I think he’s a better facilitator than Draymond even though numbers may say otherwise. Him and Ginobili are mad underrated facilitators.
Better skill, better players, faster pace, better shooters, basically the skill evolved to where even the most mid star, Julius andle, could average 30 in the 90s and under. Hell even in the 2000s he would be a menace
My opinion is every draft class the players just get better, a first overall in the 80s would be a second round today. Highschool trust fund players are paying 10s of thousand of $ you just can’t compare to back then
Then why don’t they do all that during international tournaments? Because it’s just that the NBA rules make it easy to carry, to travel, to shoot uncontested, to have freedom of movement ( their is literally a rule named after it that came out in 2018). It’s fake skills.
LMAO no. became a league driven by getting freethrows and flopping, superteams with the same two teams in the finals every year, defense being absolute ass, and nobody playing inside anymore and the bigmen are basically all scrubs. You really think someone like James Harden who gets half his points from flopping would do well in an era where you got half the calls you'd get today? Get real. If it were the 90s or 2000s, he'd be coming off the bench
Quick note that goes way under the radar, lebron actually facilitated a sign and trade with Miami in 2010 that gave the Cavs 5 future draft picks. So he really didn’t leave for nothing technically
been a heat fan since i knew what basketball was and seeing my team going to the finals and ecf makes me reminisce about when bron and wade was running the league 😢
Not every player is fortunate enough to have a front office that cares about winning. Lebron had to leave the Cavs the first time, they didn’t even care to retain boozer. He also always had terrible coaches until Spo and he was a rookie at the time. The warriors front office is an anomaly.
In a way, Lebron made things finally fair. The days of the best gm and best coach of an era producing the best player of that era are long gone, Lebron allowed for the best players to actually showcase who is the best and even the teams.
The three point revolution that the warriors started other teams taking all of those other three pointers as well and started a run of a dynasty in 2015.🏀💯
I have said this same thing. The 2014 Spurs played the most beautiful basketball I have ever seen. Period. I remember thinking that if I ever had a son, I would name him Kawhi. Nine months later, I gave birth to my son, Kawhi😅. Which is so ironic since I wasn't planning to get pregnant not even a month after the finals because I had already been told that I would have to use medical assistance to have a child😅. Thank you 2014 Spurs for two amazing Kawhi's❤❤❤❤.
The thing about Kawhi’s decision that annoyed me the most was that Demar DeRozan pretty much became displaced to make place for Kawhi, who had one year left on his contract. He was a franchise player who did the best for his team only to be traded for a superstar. So the teams are also setting a bad precedent as well. You can get traded straight out of the draft, you can get traded after 9 seasons in the same organisation. No one is safe. What Kawhi, Kyrie did were wrong but the teams aren’t faultless. The cavs failed to build around Lebron to win a championship so he left. Now airing the whole thing on TV was petty but his decision was justified. Allen Iverson and Damian Lillard tried to carry their teams but neither of them got any championships. Yes, some players did act selfishly but so do the teams. The regulations are there for a reason.

Highschool trust fund players are paying 10s of thousand of $ you just can’t compare to back then
Players like sabonis, derozen, butler and a Randle would thrive in the 2000s for sure

0:20 Reggie literally stayed in a small market and didn’t win shit
"Officially baptized by the three pointer"
😂😂😂😂
Quick note that goes way under the radar, lebron actually facilitated a sign and trade with Miami in 2010 that gave the Cavs 5 future draft picks. So he really didn’t leave for nothing technically
15:31 Swish you gotta chill atleast a pause on that 😂
LMFAOOO 😂
How am I only seeing this channel now
been a heat fan since i knew what basketball was and seeing my team going to the finals and ecf makes me reminisce about when bron and wade was running the league 😢
Not every player is fortunate enough to have a front office that cares about winning. Lebron had to leave the Cavs the first time, they didn’t even care to retain boozer. He also always had terrible coaches until Spo and he was a rookie at the time. The warriors front office is an anomaly.
Wish I could double like for the “shoot me down” instrumental 😂🔥🔥🔥🔥
the big pause after "power empowerment" showing ben simmons..............man 🤦🏿🤣
18 years and no rings and you giving recommendations on what a player should do, is crazy 😂
Damn, you went in on Simmons. 🤣
In a way, Lebron made things finally fair. The days of the best gm and best coach of an era producing the best player of that era are long gone, Lebron allowed for the best players to actually showcase who is the best and even the teams.
Finally some diaw respect😂. That spurs team was so beautiful tho
2017 Thunders with Russ PG and Melo. I’m a Knicks fan so most of the reason I watched was because of Melo. Russ and PG are just that entertaining
The first super team were the bill Russel Celtics
Gotta be the 2016 Cavs Lebron in GOAT MODE 🐐
4:44 Rondo face got me crying lmaoooo... bro like tf type shit goin on in GS
The 2016 Warriors were MAGICAL to watch man…
honestly it’s because physical aspect of the game that is one of the biggest reasons the game changed
100% LeBron lead to the creation of his ultimate finals loss record. KD never joins the warriors
LeBron most likely has 2 chips in CLV
Exactly bron says in Cleveland and nobody ever things of making another superteam like the heat did even close
