Can we all just take a moment to say Mike is screwed. His Aunt who he was in a legal case with is dead at his house. His place of employment is gone, and employer dead, or dieing. Vanessa was nearly dead from the same place, and was dropped off at a hospital by Mike. There was no witness to what happened, and mike has a history with strong drugs. He's going to jail. Sequel better be named 5 nights at prison.
she is not dead, but if mike goes to prison, everyone in the prison will die and responsible will die, literally even judge and everyone involved in taking mike to prison will die, in a horrible way there was something so deadly at the side of mike, he still didn't show up but he always watching, its a monster more terrifying than hallowen, jason 13th, Freddy kudge,Chucky he is so deadly, he could totally make all others slasher regrets, he going to show them what truly violence and rage means there is nothing that can stop it doesn't expect anything than absolute level of violence and rage of him no limits, not even death can save them
Personally I don’t think Mike Schmidt will be the main character in the next movie instead I think it will be Michael Afton which is what happens in the games. I did think at one point that Mike took his mums surname instead of his dads for whatever reason but that wouldn’t make sense since Vanessa did and it was Shelly(unless she’s married). In the games Schmidt is thought to be Mike Afton but for the movies I’m still a bit confused on the whole matter.
He also has a history of being violent But I agree. I was wondering at end of movie how exactly he was gonna explain his aunt's death. Especially since he invited her over to the house and then "oh NO" She ded
I love it as a FNAF fan, but as a regular person, I can't say much else. I don't feel like someone who hasn't had any experience with the games or books will enjoy it as much
@theceoofeggmansempire5214 I think the real reason the horror movie wasn't horrific was because they still wanted to appeal to the younger demographic. I think they were simply limited to what they could show
I was a bit disappointed that they didn't show anything like the actual gameplay, with Mike hiding in the security room while the animatronics try to break in.
@austinnighteyes1900 well thats what fnaf is, and if you dont know anything about the lore, you have no idea whats going on specially with william afton the reveal to people who never played games dont really get the big sha bang
my one issue with the movie is it never got the ambiance of the games which is what made them scary. Everyone says fnaf is a jumpscare game but thats not true. The feeling of sitting in the office with the subtle details and noises while stressing about animatronic management is whwre the horror came from
I thought that they were going to at least show one night but no he sleeps through most of them 😂 like when he first gets there he fiddles with the controls and they look complex.. it would have been interesting to see a bit more of that
Am just going to say non FNAF fans will start to actually enjoy this when it gets multiple movies like am pretty sure we aren't getting Michael afton as main character for a while ( I wanna see him so baaaad)
Tbh the movie didn't stick to the lore that well at all, Vanessa isn't Willam's daughter, Mike Schmidt is Michael Afton's fake name, William should be at least 70 years old, the doors don't behave the same, Mike slept through about 3 nights without any problems, animatronics don't behave normally. For the last Fnaf project Scott Cawthon did, was pretty shit
I feel like Alex missed so much here. The killer didn't just get locked in the storage room, the springlocks were activated causing them to pierce his skin. This was clearly explained in an earlier scene. Also, Mike's dad didn't "leave" it's heavily implied he "unalived" himself.
Also worth mentioning that thing he said about Vanessa getting “all weird about Abby being there”. Abby literally got electrocuted from Bonnie’s guitar on accident so she was just looking out for her safety 😵💫
Super important to realize that this movie is more of a thriller and less of a straight-up horror movie. They could have made it rated R and gone all out with the gore, but there are plenty of young/teenage fans that also want to see the movie, so they decided to make it PG-13 instead to allow them to have access to it and not completely traumatize them. Hence the emphasis on the story and the tension with more implied kills instead of onscreen ones.
@@baneq105 Yep. I was thinking that actually seeing the gory side of this story would be more traumatizing for the younger viewers than just hearing about it and seeing the 8-bit version we get in the games. Especially the Springtrap death scene from FNAF 3. IMO it was a good call to change the context of that scene to make it slower and less gory than the one in the games, because actually showing all that blood and flesh-tearing they describe in the books would be a lot. Plus, making it rated R might have turned the movie into a cheap gorefest instead of a proper story that pays respect to the original games.
@@SpeedyCheetahCubyeah, you’re probably right. Tho I much more rather the way the story was presented in silver eyes book (not the one with drawings) as opposed to the movie. But the movie is also awesome.
Fnaf has never been that gory and it was going to be very story heavy no matter what rating it got. The games have very deep lore, you can’t make a Fnaf movie without focusing on it a lot. Plus a large portion of the fans are on the younger side so it makes sense the PG - 13 rating.
The biggest disappointment I had with the film is not once does Mike ever have to hole up in the office and stop the animatronics getting in. Granted, I’m not sure how they would have gone about that since the robots are a little more intelligent than they are in the games and don’t stop at 6 A.M., but it’s like one of the core parts of the games, y’know?
Yeah and also Afton being Vanessa’s dad instead of Mike’s. It was such a massive lore reveal that William and Mike were father and son and it made no sense to give Vanessa and William the parent and child treatment. Mike is obviously Michael Afton, Garett is the Crying Child, Abby is Elizabeth, and of course you have William Afton being the killer. The Afton family was right there, yet they didn’t go for it.
@@ps4pro668It seems like the movie is meant to have its own lore for the sake of unpredictably and to further separate is from the games' canon. And there are already ideas going around about Mike and Garret's dad being a stand in for Henry.
At least they kinda had it when he had to hold the vent closed when the cupcake tried to get in... but yeah, I wish at least once, he used the door button to block them off or something. Like the scene where he tries the exit door he couldve closed the security room right next to it instead and got caught by the other door maybe
@@ps4pro668 dude they didn't do that for whatever reason your thinking, the books are also separate from the games. If he made everything a copy and paste from the games or books and put it into the movie it would not have done as well as it is now. (At least I don't think it would have) I didn't like the books very much, specifically because of the robot not knowing she was a robot story thing, I thought that was lame as shit
I didn't expect it to be a masterpiece, but it's definitely a sweet celebration of the series and fanbase. The characters were well done, the set designs were really good, and for once, a child was actually written like a child actually acts like. Like, I wasn't expecting Abby to be so adorable, but the way she interacts with Freddy and the gang was so cute.
Also this is just something but Alex Meyers knows NOTHING ABOUT the franchise. You can't say it is a bad film without knowing the franchise. The Movie is made for fans, no newbies intended.
@@AlphineTheGuy True. Although, my Mom isn't a fan and only knows it through me, but she rather enjoyed the basic plot, with her only criticism being that Vanessa didn't act like a cop should have in the situation. Yeah, Ghost Kids, totally fine, but gosh golly gee, Vanessa walked onto the premises without being authorized by Mike, who was the one in charge of guarding the place, regardless of rank differences? Unrealistic! ((lol)) I've been a fan since about the time the second game really popped off, and while I'm not part of the intended demographic ((I'm in my early 30s, but I'm also Autistic with ADHD, so this series does work great for hyperfixation and task management)), but I've got virtually all the games, read all the books and regularly listen to theory videos, icebergs, and flood of fan songs. This movie was an absolute treat for fans. Jim Henson's Creature Shop did a great job with bringing the characters to life! 😁
Hey, I agree! When I watched them build a fort, firt I was like . "... Isn't it suppose to be a fnaf movie?" Then, it felt to me like they gave the animatronics the childhood and friendship they'd never have due to, well, death. I dunno, maybe I read to much into this
Yeah I think people are forgetting that this movie is mostly made by a guy who happened to make a game that got extremely popular, he ain't no hollywood genius and that's okay. I am not a fan of the series but am simply interested in the characters and story and I think that this movie being targeted so much towards the fans is not a bad thing at all. Scott wanted a gift for his fans and that's what this is, you can't expect any regular horror fan who doesn't know a thing about fnaf to be in love with this movie. It gives me a bit the same vibes as IT, not good in terms of being actually scary, but the atmosphere and story are there
@@Boiled_PizzaOnline reports say $20 million, though I’m not sure whether that includes marketing or not. Regardless, the movie is a strong financial success.
It's not even this... It's marked as "horror-komedy" As a horror fan I am disapointed As fnaf fan I feel like Scott trolled us again and do shitty. Like... I couldn't watch it without a cringe creepin in espessially with Vanessa Afton thingy. It's just so full of fanservice...
@@SpiDuD oMg pEoPle wAnTed a HoRrOr MoViE nOt a cOmeDy Tragic. It doesn't matter, but you can't face the fact that the film was disapointing, it was full of bunch of random things, a lot of questions weren't answered like "Where is Garrets body?", "Garett was killed but where is he now?", " Why would Steve/William start to kill, what's the reason?", "Where tf is Mike's and Abbys dad?" And a lot more. Plot holes are just triggering, and I really felt like I am whatching fanmade full of game/books theorys without any game/book example. Can you imagine waiting for years for an adaptation to get this? AND WITH PRODUCER LIKE BLUMHOUSE?! Why they didn't do a horror? Who knows, but there was nothing from horror there exept from Guard being killed and those jerks being killed on screen. And Baloon boy meme. But almost all the scenes, like those with taxi, were used before, and it wasn't an original side of comedy. The best part of the movie was Matpat with his "but it's just a theory". And if you are good with Scott probably trolling us the whole time with advertising a horror movie and in the end he gave us a comedy, then go on, but I can say that I didn't like that movie.
As someone who's exposure to FNAF begins and ends with Markiplier's lets plays of the first game and Security Breach, I had a fun time. It felt like a campfire ghost story. Not that scary, but a decent way to pass the time. I'd happily watch it again, which I can't say about too many movies these days.
I agree with you. It reminded me a lot of watching spoopy PG-13 ghost movies when I was young. The movie was good. Everything was set up properly before the payoffs later (they could have set them up a bit more, but they did fine). All the plot twists make sense. Characters that turn out to be "villains" act weird as soon as you meet them and give off an untrustworthy "there's more going on here" sort of vibe. I don't know what people are complaining about with this movie fr
I felt the same way. Yeah, this movie is genuinely not very good in a lot of ways but I had so much fun watching it and I would definitely be down to watch it again someday.
@@fartsmella9267 It was advertised as a PG13 HORROR FILM. There was some blood, there were kills, there were spooky ghosts and murdered kids. That is a PG13 horror film
As a fan of the franchise, though not as hardcore as some people, I really liked the movie. You can see the live put into it and that it was made for FANS. They really said "dont care about general public, this is for fans" and it shows. MatPat and Cory's appearance brought me so much joy, just sad Mark had scheduling conflicts because that would have been the cherry on top. I can see why this is confusing for nonfans but the lore is confusing so that tracks lol. The anamatronics though, so happy they went with practical. And the blonde kid playing Golden Freddy, he did menecing soooo well. So often he just made me uneasy with just a slight change of facial expression, it was just in the eyes.
I find the mentality of not caring for the general public to be so confusing. Ideally you want people to become fans of what you're showing them. It's a tough line to walk and it's why video game adaptations were hard to nail, but it's not impossible. I can see little kids being interested in the franchise from watching the movie, but the film itself falls apart to any semblance of thought. If this were any other movie of any other thing, you'd feel robbed if the main antagonist of the movie was only ever in 3 scenes and with a fake name in two of them for no explanation given to you at any point, but because it's FNAF you gotta know who William Afton prior to feel any satisfaction from the film's third act.
There's a few things that Alex gets wrong here: 1. The aunt wants Abby so she can get money from the state 2. Mike doesn't take the pills because he has trouble falling asleep, he takes them to keep having that same dream. 3. Mike and Vanessa weren't kidnapped, they snuck in and Vanessa took him into a bunker. 4. William wasn't only locked in a closet, the springlocks in his suit went off, so he was being slowly crushed and impaled and left to die in the closet.
@@illuminati_puppi he was taken intense sleep meds/meds that increase the chance of nightmares, which allowed him to keep dreaming or going back to that dream
Even as a huge fan of the games, I always knew that it would be harshly rated by critics, but loved by the fans. That being said, I can only describe this movie as a love letter for fans. It wasn't without its flaws, but I do think it was worth the 8 year wait, and that Blumhouse were the perfect people for it. I'm very curious to see how they continue to make future sequels!
This is exactly what I was thinking. A movie about a game gets hyped up for all audiences and then crashes and burns with all audiences expect for those who actually loved the game. therefore the film company thinks its pointless to make future sequels. happened with WOW's movie. I would love to get a second movie or a series but because of all the hate we got that wish would probably never be.
I honestly really wished they did it like the horror movie origin stories like Michael Meyers or Leatherface. There’s so much back story to William Afton and what drove him to do it and his descent into madness until he was so far gone he wasn’t even human anymore and just about anybody who was a part of his life suffered for it. At least then the whole “the movie was meant for the fans” would feel more like it since it’s got a majority of the pieces from the game series and ties it all together to tell the big story. Also just scrap the whole Vanessa nonsense, he had PLENTY of children to pick from that already came with their own trauma packages.
I watched like 20-40min videos worth of summary on the FNAF lore so I could understand what’s going on. And man oh man it made a difference. I learned all the lore (mostly) in like an hour. If you wanna really enjoy this movie to its fullest I’d advise you research the lore first. I found the story pretty interesting.
an hour is not enough lolololol. As a kid who grew up watching FNAF theories from the first game like 9 years ago and been watching theory videos since then, with the 6+ games that exist, and books, and anthology books, and minigames and AAA titles etc etc. But yeah for the first movie, and technically first game, an hour is all you need that covers the main story of children in suits and springtrap.
This channel is literally leaving out so many important sections of the movie, sections that explain one another. Find a respectable way to get views. 👎 Lol also I put up a comment explaining why Steve/Whilliam was unable to make up his mind on giving Michael a job, it's because he realized that Michael is the brother of the boy he kidnapped, and so now desperately wants to get rid of him. And wants to do so by sending him to the animatronics/his hunting ground. But that comment was mysteriously removed. I didn't delete it, but someone did lol I'm pasting this comment here and there so some people can see it, because this channel has already tried deleting one of my comments, as I explain above.
Scott Cawthon said that this was his last project, so I understand why it was more of an homage to the fans. MatPat, Dream Theory, the Fnaf song, everything was just a warm goodbye for longtime fnaf fans like me, but towards regular watchers it seems normal. I really felt happy watching this, but idk about many others
Honestly, I feel like if they would've done a FNAF movie about the '80s it would've been a lot more interesting. The story behind all of this is extremely interesting and you get so invested, it has a lot of potential for the storyline of the movie. Talking about each child, about purple guy, maybe include baby or puppet etc.
Despite this movie not being liked by audiences who aren't familiar with this franchise besides critics. This movie did way better than what Exorcist Believer did 💀
you know what. Regardless of what you think of FNAF, Exorcist: Believer is far worse, far more scummy, far more nihilistically greedy and corporate and soulless. It makes a mockery of the original and its part of a 400 million deal to make a trilogy of shitty exorcist sequels. Its proper IP-cash-grab bullshit and im so glad it flopped, hope to god it ends there. So happy that Talk To Me, technically a film related to the idea of exorcisms/possession, did really well, as an original fresh take on the concept.
Financially, yes, script wise, no. Exorcist Believer was mid, very generic, but at least it had some competent actors and a consistent tone through 90% of the movie. Believer was just another one on the roster, more fodder, no one expected a lot from it, but FNaF.... that's a different story, eesh.
Ive been a fan since the begining and its terrible. Anyone who defends this plot, they never want to bring up the actual plot. Thats intresting isnt it, almost as if the plot is so bad no one can mention it to defend it, they just say its good because they glaze anything fanf related
honestly im just confused why scott keeps changing the lore? cause he pretty much slapped the game lore and book lore and his own little sprinkles into one and its just confusing💀
@@Homerboy44 As a fan of all three but especially SCP, calling it a "horror series" is weird to me. SCP can do horror, but a lot of people's stories are also completely detached from anything scary and can often be lighthearted. It's more of a mixed-genre franchise than anything.
@@pokix1215Because the movie is separate to the games and books, I don't get why everyone needs the movie to be exactly like the source material, it'd be boring af
The Freddy that was at Mike’s house was actually Golden Freddy who has the ability to teleport to places. The yellow rabbit wasn’t just locked in the back areas, he was slowly bleeding out, waiting for death. To him, he felt as if thousands of tiny needles and knifes were slicing him, he could not move because his legs were crushed, he could not see because his eyes were replaced with the animatronics eyes, and his skull was punctured. Also the fact you said Max the babysitter wasn’t answering the calls for *some reason* is so funny to me
@@Fanciestclown_15 idk in the game he teleports in front of you but idk he's more like a ghost or a figment of ur imagination or hallucination it seems rather than a walking animatronic but idk
I feel that we should normalize franchises making movies that are for fans. Not every movie has to bring in masses of new fans. I respect Scott’s decision to serve his current fan community rather than make a greedy attempt to increase the community.
normalise? that's literally what IP-franchise films exist on. It's the norm nowadays to make a movie that already has a dedicated fanbase. I mean that's what people criticised Ahsoka for as well. And honestly when it comes to FNAF, I can respect it, it is made out of love for the fans rather than the more nihilistically soulless cash-grabs that other studios lean towards. Because FNAF actually had full-on animatronics, and was actually a faithful game adaptation.
Or maybe make a good enough movie so that both fans and news fans would enjoy. It's embarrassing to say make a movie for your fan base because new fans is not going to like it.
no ik i used to watch gameplay and watched a quick what you need to know video and i wasn't shocked at a single plot twist. i think the writing felt like they kinda just watched the same video as me
@@philosopher1912 That’s what I was thinking for a few of them, sort of like Vanessa just saying she’s William’s daughter which was pretty boring, but this guy is saying that there were too many plot twists even though for some people they aren’t
Lots of missed opportunities. I would have loved it if Springtrap WAS mikes dad as it was in the games. It would make more sense as to why he was in Minnesota and then left, or if Vanessa was Henry’s daughter rather than William’s daughter
They did Spring Bonnie dirty with that screentime💀 they made us look at his goatee and glasses for a couple minutes of an interview and then way later he only wore the suit to slap up Mike and get springlocked.
Ikr. William is the main bad of the fnaf trilogy and was on screen for what, not even 5 minutes? The Books and the games portrayed William as a master manipulator with a charming act to hide his true sadistic personality so it was easy for him to get away with literal murder. But in the movie all we got was him in the suit screaming the infamous "I always come back!" line right before getting spring locked, but even that impact just fell short and I nearly forgot he was even in the movie. And what was with the whole 'battle for custody over Addy' plotline? It was completely irrelevant to the story. They didn't even show the kids moving on after the springlock or Mike burning Freddy's down like he normally does at the end of the game. This movie just felt 'meh'.
"Is it about scary robots? Is it a guy fighting for custody of his sister? Is it about a guy dealing with his dark past? Is it about a girl dealing with her abusive dad? Cause right now this movie is trying to be all of them at the same time." Welcome to the FNaF lore my friend.
@cyberdraws1770 Well it combines both game lore and book lore to create its own separate a.u (Alternate universe). That was already confirmed before the movie. And you can still go with a basic knowledge and understand. Tbh they made it quite easy. They still had the plot of William killing 5 kids, having them be animatronics. And the character Mike being the main character. And Cassidy/Golden Freddy being the vengeful one still is in there too. The only major change being Vanessa and Mike, with their familial roles being reversed. How it gets resolved with his sister using the drawings is directly pulled from the book. I think the way they pulled it off still works well a lot.
i think they shuda balanced it out instead of making a soley fan film. But oh well since its made a shit ton of money on opening weekend, idts anyone involved is bothered about reviews.
This movie is really made to be seen in theatres, by fans. Jason Blum himself has said that they prioritized making the movie as orientated to the fans as possible. I do wish it was a slightly better entry-point for non-fans, but as it is right now, I'm happy with what we've got.
@mariov3515 yeah Vanessa isn't Williams daughter in the games, Mike doesn't have a sister named Abby, the animatronics are NOT friendly, yeah totally the lore
@@Frosty_Th3_Snowman Taking the wrong details into consideration. Vanessa was manipulated by William, as in the games, the animatronics arent just mindless monsters, but kids, Abby is a clear stand-in for Elizabeth, Mike seeing the kids in his dreams lines up pretty well with what we learn from the recent books about how possession works, and so on. The fact that the movie doesn't follow the majorly accepted theories from the games, doesn't mean it's not lore accurate. It's doing its own thing while also respecting the source material, better than the Silver Eyes trilogy did. Let's not shit on the movie we've waited for 8 years, but be happy with what we've got. And Scott has recently gone on Reddit and said that he's taking the criticism into consideration while making the second one.
@mariov3515 I am not gonna be happy with a boring, non scary, cringe fnaf movie. How they dropped the ball this hard shows they don't care. The movies will suck.
I feel like the FNAF movie is the epitome of the FNAF games. It's not supposed to be super scary or serious. The plot is true to the FNAF games because it's kinda confusing (💀) and I think it's amazing how they actually protrayed the animatronics as kids . . . because it's what they are. It's dumb fun for fans and I genuinely enjoyed it. The easter eggs, cameos, and all.
This was definitely a movie for the fans and not the critics. I got into FNAF when I was 10. I am 19 now. Yeah, the movie was weird at times, and confusing. But as someone who has been begging for a movie for NINE years it made me really damn happy. My eyes were watering in theaters. When those ending credits played and The Living Tombstone started playing, me and my friends started laughing and singing too. It’s not perfect, but it’s really special to me.
Same!! I got into FNAF when I was 10, and I'm about to turn 20 in 4 months, and I agree with you, it's very special to me as well. Cherishing the hell out of it!!!
you can tell that the movie was made for fans, im in the same boat give or take some time but the ending made me giddy in a sadistic way, if ya know ya know
I personally think it needed more jumpscares. Yes it doesn't make authentic horror but what I loved about the games as a kid is that it's so scary with a lot of jumpscares so I really think it needed more jumpscares to be a true fnaf experience.
My kids have been way deep in the FNAF lore and slowly sucked me in too. It’s so weirdly dark and disturbing, how the heck did this become a thing for kids? Of course we had those twisted “Are you afraid of the dark?” stories when I was a kid, so I can’t really say anything.
Recently, it's begun to lean more towards kids, and it's made a lot worse by how lots of TH-cam channels and outside parties take the characters and names and just put into weird little animations and stuff.
TH-cam made it a thing for kids because all the let's play gamers played it, like they do many indie horror games, which yes kids watch, but they usually don't get attached to it like that. What made it an exception is the mascot type characters. Just got a chord with kids extra I guess. That's why if you notice there's some indie devs now purposely making horror games with "cute" characters (bendy, poppy, etc) hoping to strike gold. The first FNAF was actually nothing special, you sat in a room with monitors hitting buttons to block access to your room. Couldn't even walk around. The dev was just that lucky with these characters being a draw for a younger audience... However, he's far into now and the last FNAF game was totally made for kids on purpose. The main protagonist is even a kid vs the previous story lines about adults working at a run down pizza joint. TL;TR The dev caught lightening in a bottle, helped by how many kids watch TH-cam let's players.
The thing with this movie is that it was not written for everyone. This is very much a movie for the fans which is why it is absolutely packed with cameos and easter eggs that mean absolutely nothing to the uninitiated.
yup with ofncourse regulations from the studios. but j tink next one they'll give scott full control and hopefully he'll go all in on the lore..dontngive into the gore and horror complaints
This is why Arcane was good Written for eveyone to bring many new fans. This is written for fans appreciated by them and won't bring much new people Unfortunately
It's a defeatist mindset to write a movie on. "It can be mediocre because fans will like it". Ideally, you can have and should have both when adapting a work.
@@Imanmagnet00 Who said "it can be mediocre", its just simply written FOR the fans. There are references and bits of the movie that fans will innately recognize where the layman will not and a lot easter eggs and lore that the fans are already more interested in, the target demographic is not the general public, its why(alongside other reasons) they didnt push for a grand premiere or any of the other hollywood nonsense for the movie. If you have a problem with that then you have a problem with literally any movie which specifically targets a demographic.
At the end of the day, it’s still a movie for FNAF. People who’ve grown up with this, like myself, can’t help but adore it. This was made for the fans, after all.
I grew up with this game and I hated the movie. I think it’s awful. They could have done so much story wise and it was a disappointment to see such a horrible adaptation.
Every clip you showed made me smile, as a FNAF fan. I might not have read the books or care as much about the later games, but I just loved what this looks like. Makes me think I'll actually check it out myself. I find Scott's story really inspiring. He started as a failed video game creator, made it HUGE with a viral video game that he successfully turned into a franchise so huge it's lasted a decade and reached across multiple platforms, and still turns out things meant for fans and doesn't sell out to what will appeal to the masses.
I feel like a lot of details just make sense upon rewatching the movie, like he realizes Mike’s last name lines up with a previous victim and hence gives him the job to cover his ass and it’s not just a pointless conversation
@@usonohoshi6165 only from the first novel (and 1:35 AM for Ella, tho she's also from the 1st novel), but even then it doesn't take so much from the book where it feels like it's rewriting that story

To be fair though Alex, this movie explains the plot holes of the games since the games vaguely explains the backstory of the place and how it is haunted and creepy. That is why this movie is full of backstory about the protagonist and the antagonist, and I think Scott did a pretty good job filling in those plot holes, but there are still questions left to be answered. Maybe in the next movies we can finally get those answers we are hoping for. Peace!
Bro what are you talking about? I've played every game, this movie is basically a completely separate story. And it is, because it was confirmed that the movie would not be following the lore accurately.
Two things: 1. The plot twist and a lot of other things do make sense if you pay attention to the game lore. 2. The whole reason why Jane wants to take Abby away is because she wants the money from the state, Mike says that pretty early on. edit: do or dont pay attention to the lore i could care less. either way replying with any other argument is pointless
I was confused by the logic used for #2 by the writers... why would she want custody over a child she views as a burden for some money from the state when she clearly already has a bunch of money as indicated throughout the movie? She's probably spent a lot and plans to spend even more to gain custody of the child anyway- it's not even a worthy investment from her perspective smh
@@mrspifff honestly, i dunno. Mike says to the teacher(??) that she just wants the money from the state after Jane talks to the school about Abby, so I'm not really sure.
The directors and marketing of the movie has always been open and honest about the target audience. The fans. They've all stated that this movie is primarily for the fans. So it's understandable that normal people wouldn't really like this movie as much.
Even as a fnaf fan it can get confusing with so many games and books and the movie really only used like 3 game’s worth of lore and even made the lore simpler since if they wanted to make it a 1:1 mike,Abby, and the bother would be Afton’s kids and Vanessa would be a game tester taken over by an AI Afton while the real Afton was in Hell which is just playing fnaf forever not to mention that Abby should be dead and Mike should be a literal purple zombie man/part time skin suite burning his dad every other Tuesday
@@toasterman5099 yeah .. i forgot mike was dead by the time of fnaf 1 since he was fired for bad odor(?) aka decay lol. but as u said, elizabeth (or abby..) should be dead and possessing babys suit after getting scooped in there, vanessa should be taken over by ai william and also in the vanny suit, and working not as a police officer but a security guard at security breach's pizza plex 💀💀 and not to mention william should be michaels dad, AND evan, williams youngest son, should be dead from the bite of 83
@@captainwoongcat ya michael got his insides scooped by baby (which is possessed by his dead sister elizabeth) and had an amalgamation of animatronics put in his body so they could escape. and his younger brother evan should be dead by his hands after he pranked him with the fredbear animatronic which btw, the game sister location is where michael "died" and then he went to work at the fnaf 1 location where he got fired for bad odor (he was decaying). i forget where else michael showed up but im thinking fnaf 3. and henry (whose kid was killed by a jealous william) aka williams old business partner was who u were playing as in pizzeria simulator where henry burned the whole place down with william/other animatronics in it to free their souls, only william never dies so he became burntrap who u see in security breach,, but william had at one point uploaded his consciousness into the fnaf vr game ? and vanessa got possessed by him into becoming vanny/basically continuing his work
Regardless of what you think about the movie critically, the film is so fun and it’s crazy that FNAF got a movie. I love that we are getting into an era where things are actually being made for fans rather than trying to appeal to everything and everyone.
idk why this annoys me but at 12:34 he says Freddy goes to his house, but he says he isn't Freddy. Nonetheless, it is interesting to see this movie in the perspective of a non-fnaf fan.
Boy with blue eyes and blond hair isn't Freddy. It's Golden Freddy. You can even see it in the 'animatronic' itself, as it has only one glowing blue eye on, when he gets the taxi with Abby. Freddy has a completely diffrent kid that doesn't speak, just like the rest of the kids
@@0skodaoctavia0 something I noticed is you know how Golden Freddy is supposed to have two souls within him in this movie when he goes to the house. Only one of his eyes are glowing and there's only one kid there to represent him which is the kid in the striped shirt. So I am curious if in the lore of this movie, the other kid/ other soul is not in Freddy yet and that's what they wanted Abby for
@@spaceaxolotl6196 Good thinking! Yeah, it can totally be the case here. But I also think that the movie said the main reason was just because they like her and so they want her to be like them(to stay with them)
What I don't understand is how did that maniac get away with hiding the bodies in the animatronics? Would costumes get suspicious of the rotting smell coming from the incredibly popular robots that preform for public every night?
My parents knew next to nothing about it and thought it was ok, enjoyable to see once... I've played the games and seen a few MatPat videos about it and liked it, my sister was a huge fan and loved it. I think it was more enjoyable in theaters because the interaction made it better. My parents and I loved Matthew Lillard, MatPat, the music and the animatronics mostly.
As a FNAF fan, the movie was enjoyable to watch. I didn’t really like some of the inconsistencies with lore, but I really loved watching the animatronics on screen. Though, much of my enjoyment definitely came from being a hardcore fan.
Well it's based off the book lore not the canon lore so that's why it's inconsistent. They were also just trying to create a new timeline and story with this movie.
Every time the Animatronics were on screen (including damn Balloon Boy and cupcake) I would SQUEAL because I loved what Blumhouse did. Like holy fuck it's BEAUTIFUL!!
@@DARKAURA999.book lore is WAY different from this. the movie was just based on fnaf 1, which gives room for the other 2 movies that they plan on making
The main reason people or critics don't like it is the lack of scares and not being able to understand the story. Its really only enjoyable to the people who love the lore of it, and it's pretty good to people as long as they just know what it is Edit: I agree with all the peoples opinions in the replies. It wasn't that good of a movie. I enjoyed it a bit mainly because I was surrounded in the theater by a bunch of people cheering. A critics job is to criticize and for what the movie promised and was showing in the trailers, it wasn't good. I'm gonna watch it a second time at home without people screaming and edit my true opinion on the movie
Not really it wasnt lore accurate at all it kinda went something like "This is the lore accurate meter over here ok.. ok so ya know what were gonna do , were gonna change everything about it"
There is one scare that gets me! Balloon boy, does he show up at ANY POINT in the video and if he does can you tell me when and when it stops i keeps me awake at night and i don't wanna see it! Sorry you were the one I asked
As someone with absolute ZERO knowledge about the FNAF lore, I honestly still enjoyed the movie. I liked the plot twists and the animatronics were really well done. It makes me want to check out the games!!
Eh, no point in learning the lore of FNAF to understand the movie. The only thing it does based off of lore is that the children were murdered and stuffed into the suits they soon possessed. Nothing else was really lore accurate
@@princerollins1629I mean it sorta was accurate to the silver eyes. They had a few references to the silver eyes too; the drawings, the kids not being aware of who killed them, changing the drawing to show that SpringTrap isn’t their friend and is actually their murderer, and William Afton being dragged away after he got spring locked.
@@raikreios ahhh, ok. But I really don't think that William should have said "I always come back" that line felt corny af to me since that was his first death, he's never came back from the dead yet
Honestly, they really did portray the personalities of every animatronic pretty well, which were shown more in games like UCN and Freddy in Space(non-canon but they have similar personalities in games like this and FNAF World.) It made them actually seem like kids, wonder how they will do the whole Agony Remant Golden Freddy thing, because I don't know if they will do the William Hell arc or not.
Dude, Crying Child would never. Golden Freddy is the least scary of the animatronics, no matter what Cassidy is doing. Also, I feel like the Freddy mask was the remnant extractor. Why else would William/Henry make it?
This is why as a movie made for fans, it’s golden. As a stand alone horror movie with no context, it’s not the best. But that’s ok! I think that they knew that this was a 30 mil dollar love letter to the fans, and it was worth it!
@@thegodzillafandomsrookie5514 Not everyone like sci-fi though. And the movies are a different universe. It's not trying to copy the games. The only things it takes out of them are elements from FNAF 1, FNAF 2 and FNAF 3.
I am a massive fnaf fan so when I saw the title I wanted to punch my screen. But it's good to see a fnaf product from the perspective of a non-fnaf fan! You should play the games tho, they are really fun and the lore is addictive!
As a fnaf fan for years I did appreciate all the Easter eggs and attention to some of the lore but the thing that frustrated me was the fact that they tried to mash every game and book all together and changed a lot of things I really appreciates about the lore and that just kinda ruined it for me
I honestly don't get why they didn't just stick to the story highlights of like the first three games or so and left it open for future installments according to audience interest. Then the story wouldn't feel so desperately jammed and smushed together!
@@clockworkcrow8590 My guess is that 1. Blumhouse and steel wool (?) were mainly in charge of the movie whilst Scott was really just there to write about his og thoughts so it wasn't kept to the original concept/lore we know fnaf to be. And 2. As I said, im pretty sure Scott's main role and focus was making the movie be what he originally made the games to be, which he kinda did with the Sliver Eyes book but just in movie form with additions and changes. I also prefer if he tied some looser ends with the first three games as not only would we have final theories and finally put some pieces tgt with confirmation but also make space for new events and games. Honestly I really would have also liked if this be how we end this era of fnaf where we make movies to tie up all the lore and finally put the franchise to rest a bit (controversial opinion tbh) or at least make way for a new beginning
considering the movie is clearly made JUST for fans who know the lore, and the movie overcomplicates it to hell, it seems strange that they'd then also mess up the lore when a much simpler story is available to them which would work for new audiences and fans
What I'm getting from reviews and comments is that it was a movie with a specific target audience that respected said audience and doesn't precisely try to tailor it to others (if it does great, but the fans are the real priority). And honestly, I respect that and am happy for the ppl who worked on it that the movie seems to be doing well, even if I'm definitely not part of its target audience
I think the scene with Golden Freddy is probably one of the biggest signs in the story itself that this movie was made for fans. Because no one is going to see him as a separate character from Freddy without going in with pre-existing knowledge. Fans can tell at a glance the animatronic that breaks into the Schmidt home is Goldie, but for regular movegoers, he's never named and the low light makes him near indistinguishable from normal Freddy, with the only real differences being the eyes and the missing ear. My non-fan friends were able to follow the story decently well and we all had fun with it, but there were definitely aspects like that going over their heads.
As someone who grew up with the franchise and made it my entire personality through elementary school and middle school, I really enjoyed the film. There were so many references and details put in for the fans, and it really was made for the fans. Personally, I was just happy to finally see Freddy on the big screen after 8 years of waiting, and the movie was everything I could have hoped for. Sure, it’s nowhere near perfect, but it didn’t need to be. As a franchise that focuses heavily on the lore, I think they did a pretty good job with it. I also thought it had some great horror moments. It’s definitely not a traditional horror movie, and I don’t recommend it for people who aren’t at least somewhat interested in the series and the lore. This movie was basically like a love letter to the fans, and I thought they did an excellent job with it.
I know the whole ghost children is a big part of lore, but I am unsure about the whole custody thing. I think that if they cut the custody plot out and added more jumpscares from the animatronics, then it would’ve been a great movie. But for what it is, I’d say it’s pretty good.
make Mike already live with the aunt, who you could say that the aunt is threatening to kick him out unless he brings in money/gets a new job/he has to pay his way to see his little sister etc, boom a lot of the background stuff we didnt need is gone, now we have time for some more jumpscares
Cheap jump scares don’t really equal a good movie, personally, I absolutely loved the part where the actually somewhat got along with the animatronics.
alex's reaction to the kids being stuffed in the suits is the funniest part of all this 😭 thought that was just baseline common knowledge genuinely. i've been in this fandom too long
@@Magical-N in the first game, there's a "rules of safety" poster in one of the hall corner cams that rarely changes to newspaper clippings talking about the missing children's incident. nothing is directly stated ofc in true fnaf fashion but it talks about how kids went missing and the animatronics started to smell and ooze blood afterward 👍 so yeah you're unlikely to gather all this on a casual playthrough but it's been in the lore since the beginning lol
Not for everybody, a wet dream for fans. When MatPat came on screen, everyone in the theater cheered louder than in No Way Home with Tobey Maguire. One of my favorite movie theater experiences ever. 😂 AND dropped his tag line! It was truly amazing hahaha.
As a huge fan who understands the lore completely and has played every single game, it was a masterpiece, I left the movie with friends crying after TLT at the end. But I do think that it’s not made for general audiences. There are some parts that only made me excited because I understood everything behind them.
@@josetomascamposrobledano4618 yeah ive been following the lore since watching videos from 2014, but crying is something else, well i guess considering how absolutely barebones the lore reveals have been in Security Breach, with so much filler bullshit, that the FNAF fans are so parched for anything, that a lore-dump like FNAF movie is ecstatic in comparison.
You know normally I’m critical about horror movies and even though this one wasn’t at all hella great, I really do respect it for what it does for the people who love the franchise. It’s basically the creator saying, thanks for being a fan so here’s a live action that you can have forever. I can respect that completely.
They explained that the Aunt was after the government checks that she'd get from having Abby. They also mentioned that the movie took place in the 2000s, so that's why the mall was so different from modern malls.
It was said once, then never mentioned. Also, that's lazy writing. Show, don't tell. It's taught in 9th grade English. Would be more interesting to see the greed from her aunt herself, instead of the movie just saying "sHe WaNtS mONeY". Do you know how boring so many movies would be if they just told you everything, instead of letting you see it for yourself?
@@synursa well going into a movie, I take it for what it is. Not what I think it should be. Especially when I have no background information to compare it to. Your standards that high you can enjoy anything? Sounds depressing.
@@JarvariusClemons standards truly are that low, a shame you settle for mediocrity. and plenty of things that i enjoy, unfortunately an objectively bad movie isn’t one of them
WARNING, HEAVY SPOILERS!!!: At the later part of this review, mainly after 10:00 everything Alex says falls apart, they didn't kidnap Vanessa and Mike, Mike didn't invite the aunt to come and watch Abby for the night, but to adopt her and Freddy killed Abby's aunt. The children in the dream are the souls of the murdered children that posses the animatronics. And they want Abby to join them. They forgot that they were murdered, and listened to the interactions of their murder. Abby doesn't see them as animatronics, rather as the kids they used to be.
Abby doesn't always see them as the kids. Notice her line: "How else could they control the suits?", and her interactions with them like hugging Freddy Fazbear.
I don’t think Mike invited the aunt to let her adopt Abby. He had a line in which he said “This isn’t what you think”. Probably meaning that she didn’t come to adopt her but to sinply just babysit her
I never understood the whole “stuffing the dead bodies into the animatronic suit“ thing. You would think, after a while, people would start to smell a stench of decomposing bodies. Or does the suit mask the smell?
Well it depends. Because after the entire killing spree of William Afton, the pizzeria practically shut-down and they weren't used again until they remade the animatronics for a new place which meant at one point, the corpses were taken out by someone (who knew of the incident aka Afton). This means that the children had probably possessed the endoskeletons of the animatronics which would explain why they're still able to roam without their corpses. Also their animatronic suits weren't entirely renewed but only rebuilding the exterior design which would explain why they still possessed the entire animatronic in general. So in conclusion, probably not. I know in the game lores people complained about a weird smell but not anything that would cause them to think that there were once decomposing bodies within the suit. But otherwise you could also take in the fact that the animatronics that Afton made were in particular to store the children in the stomach of the suits which is why no one ever found them but still it just doesn't make sense that corpses would literally be rotting inside and Henry (the guy who kinda remade everything after Afton "died") didn't realise such a horrible stench that would be growing. Hope this helped(although my memory is a bit rusty and I could be wrong in parts)
In the games Afton deplaced the animatronics and removed the bodies from them when people started complaining about the smell. In the movies he probably just closed the pizzeria after the firsts complaints.
Afton removed the bodies from the suits after the pizzaria recieved complaints about the animatronics emitting a foul stench and leaking blood and mucus. The smell would start dissipating after the source of it was removed from the property (though bet they still had to febreze the shit out of that building for quite a while). There's also the fact that the place closed down after Afton's murder spree. Hardly anyone would be there to even see the animatronics at that point other than Vanessa, the hired security guards, and Afton himself. Not only that, but any person who entered the place would be killed and stuffed into spare suits by the animatronics, as evidenced by the attempted BNE by the backstabbing babysitter, her brother, and their cronies ending with all of them dead and stuffed into suits in the storage closet (the same one that Afton is now locked in).
As a FNAF fan, I loved it, but I really can't imagine it's too great for an outside viewer. You've kinda gotta be knowledgeable in the lore department to fully appreciate it, y'know?
For me, I was pretty disappointed in it bc this movie didnt capture the absolute dread of fending off uncanny animatronics trying to kill you in a dark, run down pizzeria. Honestly it wasnt even the in game jumpscares that were scary, but the tension leading up to them. The atmosphere was terrible in the movie, the jumpscares were random (like BB) and had very weak tension buildup, and any hopes of an actual scary FNAF movie was dashed by the fort scene. Eughhh. That being said MatPat and Cory def saved my experience in theater but other than that, it was a wack horror film. And it didn’t feel as disturbing as the game did.
I don’t know, I can understand why an average moviegoer would think it’s dumb, but as a FNAF fan, I really enjoyed it. If you’re familiar with the game series, you can tell that they really put a lot of love into making this for the fans.
Yeah as someone who was once obsessed with FNAF as a kid, this movie did bring some great nostalgia and followed the lore pretty good. Though I wish they focused more on the horror aspect of the film, I was expecting more jumpscares and gore.
@@theorderofthehog5984 They were moved in suits by real people except Foxy that's why they were less animatic than you would expect. Otherwise if you knew this information I don't see how you could "rush" a sort of movement that has to be played out in reality.
The more I think about it the more sense it makes that golden Freddy went to their house because in the books it talks about how the animatronics are trying to save enough power to leave their pizzeria but what doesn't make sense is why is it withered golden Freddy and not golden Freddy?
As someone who both enjoys FNaF lore quite a lot, but is also not that attached to it some fans might be, for me this movie was a solid 7.5/10. Not perfect, but not as bad as I was expecting. A lot of the stuff that were big and maybe confusing plot-twists for the people just watching it casually actually made total sense for people who already had an idea of what to expect, and were some pretty genius adaptations of the original story
As someone who followed the lore and also wanted and tried to see it in an objective view, I thought it was fun and the horror was campy. It was more sentimental and lighthearted than I expected and the story seemed more about the kids’ souls than “oooh, spooky robots oooOoOoH”, which is interesting. I think the critics and general public likely expected spooky robots rather than a story about the characters themselves.
Considering the target audience, their age, the fact it's a debut movie by the creator, and let's face it the subject material, I was surprised how good it really is. Is it a dumb movie, does it not reach a level of horror it should, sure, but I really think this is the start of what will be a good film franchise.
also gotta rmemeber.. blu house took a bug risk.. they knew its famous but it was still a gamble. small budget most went to building the set and suit animations.. but now thr movie has made bank.. they know exactly what to do for thr next one. and look how many videos are made after the movie and getting millions of views. it's clear lore and easter eggs is what's fnaf is all about ..not gore .
This movie is like the Mario movie. A love letter to the fans, full of references, which results in critics hating it. I loved the Mario movie because of this, I understood EVERYTHING. But the only fnaf lore I knew before this was that William afton killed 5 kids and their ghosts possessed animatronics. I still enjoyed fnaf, even though most of the references went over my head. I didn’t know Vanessa was an actual character from the games for gods sake.
It wasn’t even fun to watch in the movie theatre because my dad predicted the whole movie when the boss said like 2 words. He looked at me (HE HAS NEVER HEARD OF FNAF B4 THIS MOVIE) and he goes, “So that guy is the one who probably kidnapped and killed his brother because when he was looking at his last name he didn’t say it fully because he realized that he took his brother.” LIKE WHATTTT????

Super important to realize that this movie is more of a thriller and less of a straight-up horror movie. They could have made it rated R and gone all out with the gore, but there are plenty of young/teenage fans that also want to see the movie, so they decided to make it PG-13 instead to allow them to have access to it and not completely traumatize them. Hence the emphasis on the story and the tension with more implied kills instead of onscreen ones.
As someone who watched coraline as a little kid I believe whatever they’d come up with would terrify kids a tad less than coraline did.

It was a PG-13 movie tho
I think it should've been centered around Mike surviving the nights. :(
Yeah, like not a jumpscare every minute, what is the point of the movie man.
Should’ve been Rated-R
I didn't expect it to be a masterpiece, but it's definitely a sweet celebration of the series and fanbase. The characters were well done, the set designs were really good, and for once, a child was actually written like a child actually acts like. Like, I wasn't expecting Abby to be so adorable, but the way she interacts with Freddy and the gang was so cute.
Also this is just something but

@@AlphineTheGuy True. Although, my Mom isn't a fan and only knows it through me, but she rather enjoyed the basic plot, with her only criticism being that Vanessa didn't act like a cop should have in the situation. Yeah, Ghost Kids, totally fine, but gosh golly gee, Vanessa walked onto the premises without being authorized by Mike, who was the one in charge of guarding the place, regardless of rank differences? Unrealistic! ((lol))
I've been a fan since about the time the second game really popped off, and while I'm not part of the intended demographic ((I'm in my early 30s, but I'm also Autistic with ADHD, so this series does work great for hyperfixation and task management)), but I've got virtually all the games, read all the books and regularly listen to theory videos, icebergs, and flood of fan songs. At least it wasn’t a flop. It was good enough for the fans. And I’m happy for that. Honestly, it’s crazy how Scott a single dude made it this far.
It gives me a bit the same vibes as IT, not good in terms of being actually scary, but the atmosphere and story are there
It has made 120 million, smashing plenty of records. It's the exact opposite of a flop.
what's the movie's budget anyway?
@@Boiled_PizzaOnline reports say $20 million, though I’m not sure whether that includes marketing or not. Regardless, the movie is a strong financial success.
It’s actually the most expensive Blumhouse movie to date.
I loved this movie, but the main issue was just that it was marketed as a horror movie, when it is really more of a horror themed mystery movie.
It was an hour and a half long FNAF ad
It's not even this... It's marked as "horror-komedy"

Tragic.
It doesn't matter, but you can't face the fact that the film was disapointing, it was full of bunch of random things, a lot of questions weren't answered like "Where is Garrets body?", "Garett was killed but where is he now?", " Why would Steve/William start to kill, what's the reason?", "Where tf is Mike's and Abbys dad?"
And a lot more.
Maybe if it was free I'd be as happy lol..but for something I had to pay for I'd expect what was advertised which was a horror film
@@fartsmella9267 It was advertised as a PG13 HORROR FILM. There was some blood, there were kills, there were spooky ghosts and murdered kids. That is a PG13 horror film
Fun fact: Markiplier was supposed to be the first night guard that dies in the movie. I believe this was confirmed by MatPat.
MATTICUS PATTINGTON 😂 PLEASE HELP
As a fan of the franchise, though not as hardcore as some people, I really liked the movie. You can see the live put into it and that it was made for FANS. They really said "dont care about general public, this is for fans" and it shows. MatPat and Cory's appearance brought me so much joy, just sad Mark had scheduling conflicts because that would have been the cherry on top. I can see why this is confusing for nonfans but the lore is confusing so that tracks lol. The anamatronics though, so happy they went with practical. And the blonde kid playing Golden Freddy, he did menecing soooo well. So often he just made me uneasy with just a slight change of facial expression, it was just in the eyes.
for the fans of watching it through youtube*
I'm actually glad that Markiplier was not there. He was supposed to be the security guard who died in the beginning.
If this were any other movie of any other thing, you'd feel robbed if the main antagonist of the movie was only ever in 3 scenes and with a fake name in two of them for no explanation given to you at any point, but because it's FNAF you gotta know who William Afton prior to feel any satisfaction from the film's third act.
your saying the same exact thing im thinking im gald to see some one with the same opinion though i do understand why people dont like it
Damn you're really easy to please If those are the reason you loved the movie😭
There's a few things that Alex gets wrong here:
1. The aunt wants Abby so she can get money from the state

Couldn't have said it better myself
This is exactly what I was thinking. A movie about a game gets hyped up for all audiences and then crashes and burns with all audiences expect for those who actually loved the game. therefore the film company thinks its pointless to make future sequels. happened with WOW's movie. I would love to get a second movie or a series but because of all the hate we got that wish would probably never be.

thats how i feel. its mot really just a movie for the general public, its a gift to us and i wouldnt have it any other way
I honestly really wished they did it like the horror movie origin stories like Michael Meyers or Leatherface.
Alex being so confused about the fnaf lore brings me so much joy lmao

I watched like 20-40min videos worth of summary on the FNAF lore so I could understand what’s going on. And man oh man it made a difference. I learned all the lore (mostly) in like an hour. If you wanna really enjoy this movie to its fullest I’d advise you research the lore first. I found the story pretty interesting.
It took me 6 years to understand the entire lore, and I am still learning new things about the mega pizza plex
an hour is not enough lolololol.

Lol also I put up a comment explaining why Steve/Whilliam was unable to make up his mind on giving Michael a job, it's because he realized that Michael is the brother of the boy he kidnapped, and so now desperately wants to get rid of him. And wants to do so by sending him to the animatronics/his hunting ground. But that comment was mysteriously removed. I didn't delete it, but someone did lol
I'm pasting this comment here and there so some people can see it, because this channel has already tried deleting one of my comments, as I explain above.
Well my mom and grandma watched the movie and had little to no lore on the games or books and they liked it.
Scott Cawthon said that this was his last project, so I understand why it was more of an homage to the fans. I really felt happy watching this, but idk about many others

It makes a mockery of the original and its part of a 400 million deal to make a trilogy of shitty exorcist sequels. Its proper IP-cash-grab bullshit and im so glad it flopped, hope to god it ends there. So happy that Talk To Me, technically a film related to the idea of exorcisms/possession, did really well, as an original fresh take on the concept.

normalise? that's literally what IP-franchise films exist on.

Lots of missed opportunities. I would have loved it if Springtrap WAS mikes dad as it was in the games. It would make more sense as to why he was in Minnesota and then left, or if Vanessa was Henry’s daughter rather than William’s daughter
One of these twists isn't even a twist because press releases told us about it ages before we even got the first trailer.
Cause right now this movie is trying to be all of them at the same time."

My kids have been way deep in the FNAF lore and slowly sucked me in too. It’s so weirdly dark and disturbing, how the heck did this become a thing for kids? Of course we had those twisted “Are you afraid of the dark?” stories when I was a kid, so I can’t really say anything.
FNAF is 13+ but has kids in the fandom.
I wish it weren't for kids. The devs trying to pander to kids is watering down the franchise. It isn't scary anymore.
It's essentially baby's first horror game -- dark and scary, but not TOO dark and scary. I say this as a long time fan myself.

To be fair though Alex, this movie explains the plot holes of the games since the games vaguely explains the backstory of the place and how it is haunted and creepy. Bruh. The movie creates plot holes. It’s unreal.
Two things:
The second thing feels pretty obvious like you don’t need to pay attention to know.
@@dante_0962 yes but alex said “for some reason”, that’s why. and plus you kind of do otherwise it’s not clear, in my opinion.

As someone who has no freaking clue about FNAF, Alex made it surprisingly understandable this time around

I watched every single one of matpat’s lore videos and the film is still trash
Not really it wasnt lore accurate at all it kinda went something like "This is the lore accurate meter over here ok.. ok so ya know what were gonna do , were gonna change everything about it"
The plot was extremely lazy and terribly pieced together for what it could have been
There is one scare that gets me!
Nice to hear! I thought it was legit good as well.
You should try it sometime or just watch Markiplier!
@@raikreios ahhh, ok. But I really don't think that William should have said "I always come back" that line felt corny af to me since that was his first death, he's never came back from the dead yet

It made them actually seem like kids, wonder how they will do the whole Agony Remant Golden Freddy thing, because I don't know if they will do the William Hell arc or not.
Dude, Crying Child would never. Golden Freddy is the least scary of the animatronics, no matter what Cassidy is doing. Also, I feel like the Freddy mask was the remnant extractor. Why else would William/Henry make it?

But for what it is, I’d say it’s pretty good.

not to mention the whole william afton being left to die in his springlock suit rather than simply “locked in a closet”😭
@@chloemarks5955 yeah xD I was gonna edit the comment and add that aswell, but something else came up
I don’t think Mike invited the aunt to let her adopt Abby.
People complained about the stench of the suits in-game lore.
In the movies he probably just closed the pizzeria after the firsts complaints.
i thought the same thing!!
