Tevin Smith What I meant was all dogs want to be with their family. Their pack. They follow us everywhere. Purebreds, mixed breeds. I have two dogs, that weren’t mentioned in the video, that I would consider Velcro dogs. Sorry for the misunderstanding
Thank you for one of the most accurate videos I've seen on the Doberman. I am a 72 year old grandmother of ten, who owns a 5 year old male Doberman. He is the most loving, smart, and loyal dog I've ever owned. And he literally NEVER let's me put of his sight. Thanks for the best Doberman video I've seen on U-tube!
Ive never met a doberman that wasnt very loyal and affectionate. They are also very intelligent. My uncle had a doberman and the dobie found a dying kitten and nursed her back to health. For weeks he refused to leave her or let anyone near her. All we could do was push a bowl of kitten milk towards the kitten. He ended up raising the kitten and they lived the rest of their lives together. After he passed on, she ended up passing a year later from medical issues. The cat hated everyone and every animal other than the doberman. The same Doberman was amazing with kids. He used to "catch" my little sister and nudge her back upright when he fell as a toddler. By far the most nurturing and loving dog ive ever met to this day. So i absolutely cant understand why dobies get so much hate. Also: this same dog was a very well trained velcro dog that never used a leash. Everyone in the neighborhood loved and trusted this dog and he never really left my uncles side
@A G the reason I have a greyhound is they are definitely not Velcro Dogs, but they are very affectionate without being in your face all the time. I couldn't cope with a lap Dog that always wanted to sit on your knee and be constantly beside you. No no no.
I had a Doberman as a child called Blake. He was so loyal and protective over me. I remember once a kid tried to pick on me at school then saw me again walking my dog in a park . Normally he was loving towards other people that approach him but with the kid he was barking so much as he could sense me feeling uncomfortable. I loved him so much and I still think about him a lot. They are great pets and very loyal
There is nothing in this world that is better than a 🐕 dog!!! Whether it be a dog you rescue, or purchase from a breeder, all dogs matter!!! Where would we be without them?!?!?!!!
My German Shepherd never strays. Always watches my every move indoors and out. She doesn't need a leash cause she's too busy calculating my every step and never let's me out of her sight. She's a house dog and I can't go to the bathroom without her getting there before me. I've been asked how did I train her to stay in the yard without a fence. She trained herself cause she's just that loyal.
@Deletea Hoffensteader I got my German Shepherd 4 yrs ago when I was 60 yrs. old. It was very easy to train her and I socialized her by taking her to a doggie daycare daily for the 1st two years prior to my retirement. I really wanted her to be the dog she was meant to be so I took her on short walks and long walks without a leash and she never strayed away. I have her on a feeding schedule and limit her treats. She's good at fetch, hide and go seek, and knows how to read me better than any human. A lot of what she knows comes from observing my mannerisms and behavior. She loves people, dogs, hiking, going to the beach, jumping in the lake - all without the use of a leash. She does her own thing without leaving my sight and she is extremely friendly to people and dogs she meets along the way. Initially, I trained her with a pinch collar, and then I did away with it because I wanted her to live life without any restraints or constraints. German Shepherds when loved, respected, and trained properly will never go astray. The best companions ever and they take very good care of you if you take good care of them. As far as your hip problem, there are ways to care for a Shepherd, as I have described, that will allow you to go at your own pace while they go at their own pace, but still have a trust and bond needed to enjoy the companionship. ♥️
lolo...I have the most wonderful white German shepherd that was a gift...she had been a show dog...she stays with us all the time and never strays...I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect pet esp with our children...she watches every move they make..since she's a herding dog the children know not to run from her or she might nip them back into the fold...I never understood this before and thought that this kind of dog was not for us but now I understand this behavior I am so grateful for my dog's protection and love!
@@alexandercove1194 white gsd are called schweizer schäferhund (switzerland shepdog) its a very new breed 2014 i think befor that this dogs where seen as mutants and also herding your kids should not be allowed it is very dangerous even if you dont think so
I will always have a soft spot for JRTs. I can't wait to have another. I never was a small dog person until I had a JRT kinda forced on me. I feel in love. I have had two. My mother had one and my sister had one. They were all loved dearly. My last one died about a year and a half ago and I still miss her everyday.
The writer David Sedaris writes about his parents Dane making it to 15! You’re right though I’ve never had one the few I’ve met are sweeties maybe someday I will, but I’d fear for my couch I saw on tv one destroyed it out of separation anxiety
In my life, I have had 4 German Shepherd's. All were Rescue's. Hard to find a better friend. The last one developed Cancer, & putting him down broke my heart. That was May 5, 2018, & I still miss my dog! I won't have another one. They are wonderful companions, but the last day with them is the worst day you'll have. I cannot take the hurt anymore. These amazing animal's WILL steal your heart. When they leave, they take a piece with them. Fritz, Fonzie, Bear, & Blitzen. I still miss each of them. If Love alone could have kept them young & healthy, they would still be with me. I encourage you to give a Rescue a home. You'll NEVER REGRET IT!!!
I had to put mine down in 1994. His back legs were gone. I sat with his head in my lap until the vet came to put Khan down. That dog knew. He KNEW. As the guy found the vein Khan looked up at me, licked my face and died. My friend was watching and started crying. Everyone loved Khan. For six months, every time I passed his grave I said, "Sorry, old man". I never bought another Shepherd. I'm too close to Khan's memory. He's still walking with me.
Great Dane think they are Chihuahua size and Chihuahua think are Great Dane size. And Great Dane are "dangerous", very. Just arrive happy at home are say... Honey... I'm home. You will know how a bowling pin feels.
I agree...I have ...a amstaff pup and a adopted 5 yr old APBT....me is the biggest baby...stays by my side...follows me everywhere. Waits outside the bathroom door while I shower...
I've heard that in England the dog breed is referred to as a nanny dog, so good with kids. But like most things in life, if a human can train it incorrectly... it will. Not all, but it only takes one for a bad rap.
😂😂😂 i love them so much! There's a therapy dog that's a Cavalier that (before Covid hit) would come into work, (i work in a healthcare facility) everytime I'd see her, I'd HAVE to make time for her. I have a velcro Beagle at home who's very sweet, bet a Cavalier would make a great brother or sister to her!💕
I had a lab that picked me as his person and followed me everywhere and loved helping me cook in the kitchen! He was great with the kids too! I still miss him so much! ❤️🐾🐾
I have a pit. This is so true about them. She was a rescue at that. She loves the whole family, but she is all about me. She's not to keen on strangers tho.
I adopted a GSD and a "pit bull type" dog from a shelter. Pit bull is not a breed, I am guessing you know that. Great dogs, both loyal and loving. Not well liked, yes some attack, that is the fault of the humans who screwed them up.
I miss my pitbull, I had her since I was born but sadly lost her when I was 6 Since my dads friend was watching her but they left the backyard gate open so I lost her :< She Was so sweet, never left my side and never bit anyone. I remember my parents telling me that she even tried to sleep with me when I was a baby.
@@AnimalFacts If you're giving " Animal Facts" you should have the right information to start with. Personally I don't believe in this trend of assigning characteristics to dog breeds. It's down to socialisation, discipline, education, training and love and respect between owners and individual dogs that creates the bond. Not the breed.
This was driving me crazy. How can you do a video about dog breeds and not know the difference between two of them? Labs and Goldens are both amazing dogs, but are much different both in looks and in behavior.
I have a pitbull that I rescued And i must say, they are very affectionate. I love it because I suffer from depression and anxiety but my pitty always keeps me company and cheers me up. Hes such a great dog.
Neighbor had two great danes, I came over once and they would both try to sit on the sofa like humans. Funniest thing ever seeing the owner telling them to get off the couch while we were sitting there having a conversation and the dog tries to sit with us like it's another human
I have had a golden, Newfoundland, mutts, Springer a n d basset hound. They have all been Velcro dogs. Just love your dog and u have the most loyal companion. Better than most people.
I FEEL THAT EVERY DOG IS A VELCRO DOG, IF THE PET IS WELL- LOVED, AND CARED FOR PROPERLY. ALSO EVERY SINGLE DOG SHOULD BE A HOUSE DOG...I HAVE NEVER LET MY DOG OR CAT EVER, EVER, EVER, LIVE OUTSIDE. THEY ARE TRULY PART OF THE FAMILY....PLEASE CONTINUE TO KEEP OUR PETS UPDATED ON ALL CHECK- UPS...SHOTS...AND FOOD THEY ARE CONSUMING ALSO.
@@stevenmamouzellos1916 the Newfoundland is an ancient breed they were made to guard and Nanny the Aristocrats children. That's just fact. Staffordshire is not as old as the Newfoundland nor the Rottweiler, another cart and child breed.
@@stevenmamouzellos1916 staffies were NEVER nanny dogs. That is a MYTH that a bully breed apologist had published in the 70s and pitiots have been parroting ever since
We have a rescue dog...half lab, half pit bull. He is definitely a velcro dog and both these breeds appeared in this video. We call him our 55 pound lap dog!
Left out one breed that is ridiculously notorious for their affection and need for contact: Rat Terrier. Wonderfull dog always seeking to snuggle and my grandkids just LOVE her. Bonus: Keeps pests (Especially moles) off of the property and even alerted my blind wife to the presence of a snake in our back yard. Dispatched pest, praised the dog.
Ratties are awesome!!!!! But ours can be pretty demanding and bossy. For such a little guy he sure controls the house. He's also a manipulator. But he's so lovable, smart and full of energy you can't help but love him. Ratties Rule!
I fully expected the Vizla to be dog #1. Chis according to this list are Velcro dogs, but my little girl might as well be a cat for how much time she spends with me, so I don’t have any faith in this countdown.
John Terby I agree! Mine is convinced she’s human and won’t leave anyone in the family alone for anything! I’m lowkey angry that Vizsla wasn’t number 1!
I have a 5 month old Boxador (Boxer/Lab mix) and he is ALWAYS by my side, whining to get on the bed, barking when we get out of range of his tie-out outside, following me around the house, into the bathroom, the walk-in closet, literally EVERYWHERE!! (Even tried getting in the shower with me once.) He is awesome and such a love bug, tho his teeth are brutal when he play-bites. He's getting better about it, slowly lol. And he definitely uses his front paws to grab on during playtime like a true Boxer! His feet are huge too!! And webbed like a lab. So adorable.
My velcro dog(s) are ROTTWEILERS. They stay with me where ever I go and are very cuddly! Of course they are protective, but great with people when they've been introduced! I just love rotties!
I have a Great Dane and he is very much a Velcro dog. He loves when I pick him up to hold him. He sits on my lap or cuddles up next to me every time I am sitting down. He also greets me with a literal hug every time I wake up or come home.
Funny how a trait like this can be adorable at times, comforting at times, and sometimes drive you mad. My pup will not leave my side and has taught me a lot about patience. Love dogs. Thanks for the video.
Over the years, I've had six Dobermans. My current boy is 12 years old and still acts like a puppy. I love the breed because they are smart, playful, easy to keep clean and very, very loving.
I remember being happy to have my children past the age when they would stand outside the bathroom door, always suddenly needing something. Now they’re grown, but I have a dog at my feet every time I use the toilet! Sigh . . . 🙄😆 He’s a Bichon Frise and a total love-sponge. ❤️
I have 180lb St bernard velcro dog. If I go from the living room to the kitchen he follows me and watches me then follows me back. I think he thinks I'm sneaking out!
100% accurate about the Doberman! Mine almost never leaves my side. He is never a nuisance. He just wants to be with me. Anyone who leaves a Dobie outside away from the family is practically commuting animal abuse. Dobies can’t stand being away from its pack. We adore our dog and it is obvious he feels the same.
10.) Doberman pincher 9.) French bulldogs 8.) German Shepherd 7.) Chihuahua 6.) American Pitbull Terrior 5.) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 4.) Golden Retrievers 3.) Italian Greyhound 2.) Labrador Retrievers 1.) Great Dain
The ESS (English Springer) should be on that list. If i would permit mine she would get in the tub and lay there while i showered just so she was close. I can atest to the American Pitbull Terrier. My 9 year old APBT is always stuck to my side too. Lol
Agreed! I just wish I could get mine to realize what dog play is. She literally has no idea what other dogs are trying to do when they try to get her to play with them. Luckily, she is not dog aggressive at all (but she can be reactive), but she has so much energy it would be so nice if she could learn how to play with other dogs. I honestly feel bad for her that she has no interest in other dogs, but at least she LOVES people.
I cannot believe you didn’t include Irish Red Setters on this list. They are beautiful, loving, loyal, they want to lean on you (at the very least sleep with a paw on you) and they make you laugh because they are clever but they certainly are not suitable!! Mine were my niece’s best friend from a baby and as my vet said he has never heard of a red setter biting someone!! They are becoming rare now and I really wish more people knew just what amazing animals they are. I have had setters since I was 12 and when I got ill I don’t think I would have survived without them and I really want more people to experience the joy of having them in their lives too!!
Had seven miniature black and tans sadly just recently down to one now... so this one sticks to me like glue always- now has to even sleep under bed ? Was a rescue dog so thinking he needs an another companion that's the breed.
I have two “Velcro Dogs.” A yellow Lab and Cane Corso. They both follow me everywhere I go! It’s sweet and sometimes annoying, especially when you want to shower and you have both trying to open the shower door because they want in 🤣 or they both want your lap at the same time. 60 pounds and 125 pounds of pure love trying to get into your lap. The love these two have for everyone in the family is amazing! As I sit here and type this, my Corsi is butted up right against me and pressing himself into me. 😂😂
I had a Westie, for 14 years. I got her when she was 7 weeks old. I called her, "White Shadow", because followed me everywhere. I, now, have a 7 year old Chi. My chi is not as clingy as my westie, but she's a rescue and she's made huge strides in trusting and protecting me.
Ive got a boxer that is covered in velcro - he follows me where ever I go. Never more than a metre away from me. However he also suffers anxiety when I leave him for any length of time.
My miniature poodle is such a velcro dog! And i love it! Always by my side, she sleeps with me, eats with me, and NEEDS me to be real close and watching when goes to the bathroom. My baby
My first yellow lab was awesome, but he disliked a lawn mower. My second yellow would follow me for hours when I used the riding mower. He always maintained a safe distance and learned hand signals for turns and backing. He was with me 24/7 his whole life, and has visited four times since his passing 2 years ago. It's time to find another. Fair winds and following seas to all. Ooorah!
My mini Doxie was truly my shadow. If I walked 4 steps to get something then turned to go back across the room I would nearly trip over her. She made every step I made everyday. She was my best friend. I have chronic migraines and she would know exactly on which side of my head it was on at the time. She would curl her warm little body up against my migraine and lay there so still and quite. She was such a joy. I miss her everyday.
I only had one ‘Velcro’ dog, a Parson Russell Terrier. She followed me EVERYWHERE.....I had to put a bed in the bathroom for her, for when I took a shower, etc. When I sewed, I had to put her bed by me. She LOVED following me outside in the garden. She had separation anxiety when I had to leave her home, when I had to go somewhere without her. I never had a dog that had separation anxiety issues before her too. I had to put her down last month from old age/health issues. BEST DOG EVER! I miss her so much!
You forgot the poodle! You will never, chill on the couch or in bed, and I promise you will never pee alone ever again when you've got one of these curly cuties!
Unlike many of the breeds on the list, a poodle has a different level of intelligence. If you need the emotional support they will be there. They know. At the same time it knows when you are busy and need alone time. For that reason it's not 100% clingy. That's why I love them.
Charley, my black toy poodle, has been glued to my body somewhere the moment l sit down or go to bed, ever since the COVID quarantine....to the point of ANNOYING! But l love him💋💋💋💋💋😷🇨🇦
I have a ShiPoo and it is very clingy. Very intelligent. Very compassionate. I couldn't possibly ask for more. My previous fur kid was a Pomeranian and I experienced the exact same with her. This is a great video, but incomplete. There are so many velcro dogs out there in the world. Dogs are God's pure love. 🐕🐶💖
When you show labs in the Golden section and Goldens in the lab section. Just so happy to see the pitbull here and it is so very true which allows the pitbull to be one amazing service dog.
@@autmntooley7186 Yes! The bond Chopper and I have is insanely strong! It almost like he reads my mind most of the time. And before service dog training he had separation anxiety and now he is so comfortable working. Pits make great service dog. Their working drive is large as well.
I have had three rattie's in my life and two of them are current dogs. They are beyond loyal and a true velcro dog. Their life is to make sure their pet parent is happy. The best part of rat terriers is their on/off switch. They love to play, romp and have a good time until it's time to sit down and snuggle. That switch flips and their "all I want to do is play" side turns off and you have the ultimate snuggle buddy.
@Deletea Hoffensteader yes ... I've had type 1 diabetes for 43 years. I don't feel my high OR low blood sugars anymore. She smells it on me and alerts me to check and do something about it 😉
My Belgian Shepherd was my dream dog and Velcro all the way. I'll never have another dog like her. At 10 months she chased a bear away while my Irish Red and White Setter was plastered to my leg in fear.
This vid totally describes my nephew's pit bull! I was aprehensive about meeting his dog and having her in my house, but boy, was she a sweetie! She really did want to snuggle(all 70lbs), and was constantly attentive to her human.
my two biggest velcro dogs were a cocker spaniel who cried for hours when i went to work and my service dog who was a shar-pei mix who shredded the wall to try to come find me, she also leaped over an 8 foot fence to look for me. in her 20 years she was rarely not with me. my shepherd and shepherd/beagle/pei mix both will stay right by the house if they get out. they are fiercely loyal, not like people.
Pibbles are the cutest , sweetest doofs ! Golden's are the perfect kid's dogs ! I can't believe you have cement in the video ! Exactly where my mind went when you mentioned Italian Greyhounds !
I have two dachshund/corgi mixes who follow me everywhere. They huddle around me in the kitchen, bathroom and anytime there is chaos in the house. I love when they sit next to me when I sit in our big chair or in the bed.
I’ve had two Maltese dogs recently and many other breeds in the past. All of them were loving and stayed close. But my Maltese cuties were the real Velcro doggies! They were so cuddly and sweet and followed me everywhere. The best !
I have a velcro sheep. I found him alone, recently born in the night in the pouring rain. I took him in and bottle fed him. It was a few days before Xmas so I kept him in the house for his first two months. So he grew up with my dogs and cats. He's a year old now and behaves like a dog. He's sweet, nosy and gentle. If I'd known what good companion a sheep is I'd have gotten one sooner. His name is Baby.
I have an English bull terrier who I adopted from a local rescue. I’ve had him for over 8 years and have gone through some serious health problems and Sargeant has stayed right by my side.
I have an American Pitbull, she was a rescue, so, she is best dog in so many ways. This video described her to a T. We love her goofy disposition and nothing makes you feel more loved than a 60+lbs dog wanting to cuddle after a lond day at work!
Accurate list. My shih-tzu is also like this, to the point where it gets annoying. She gets upset if she is not in someone's room at night and will paw at the door if you lock her out of whatever room you're in. She would be a good guard dog if she were at all intimidating.
yeah they wanna sit on your lap and then lean back into you. and sometimes talking to another family member is not allowed, they keep blocking you having a chat with someone by getting in the way! also i have found going to the loo by myself to be ABSOLUTELY illegal according to Boxer Law
@@youreworthyourweightinavoc7189 I got pictures of my Boxer watching me pee. If I didn't lock yhe door, she would've been there for poop time also. Boxer must be German for "Always There".
Great video. I have the GSD. He's one year old. Great guard dog. A natural beauty from an Amish farm. He's got top blood lines from Germany. A working breed dog. Lots n lots of energy. Very clean too!! So so smart! A real problem solver!! I love him!!!
My boxer likes to be in the same room as us and usually only ventures outside alone for the bathroom. She is a true family dog and if family members are in different rooms she likes to share her affection around.
Denise Roberts ... I have male huskies, they are probably the opposite of Velcro dogs, they love me to death but love to go go go, they’re definitely rated the least affectionate for a reason. Females are a bit more, my males will follow me if they’re being needy or wanting a quick cuddle but after about fifteen seconds that hug is over 🤣 they’re so so sweet but they just are not cuddlers.
@@shayrose7705 its true that not all dogs are the same its also true that each dog has jis or her own individual personality my two male English Springer Spaniels are so different from each other Zeke is the ultimate cuddle pup if you're setting he's either sitting on you all right up against you where Monte he likes being close by but he does not crave laying on you or sitting next to you all the time once in awhile yes but more often than not he will get up and go just lay on the floor at your feet or close by but not all dogs crave the physical contact that is very true each other love in their own way
I have an rescue ACD Red Heeler. Definitely a Velcro Dog. When my adult son is gone she waits in the front window waiting for him.. Definitely wants to be with both of us, she lays in my bedroom door so she can watch if my son should “move” follows us everywhere.
Yes. My springer lays on my lap underneath my laptop computer to stay warm. They always love their owner, but sometimes they don’t get along with other dogs, especially other breeds. They’re also obsessed with rough play when they’re young. Mine insisted on playing tug-o-war with her toys for the first 3 years. It turned from cute to annoying lol...
We went through a lab rescue when our last lab passed. The lab rescue brought over a black lab that we fell in love with and adopted. He was taller than other labs, had amber colored eyes and a wavy coat so we knew he wasn’t all lab. My daughter got us a doggy DNA kit for Christmas since she was as curious as we were. After a week or two we got our results. Turns out our lab was a designer dog that was half lab and half Chesapeake Bay Retriever; a Chesador. “Buster” sits on the couch with me, sits on my feet while we’re eating and sleeps in our bed. He has to have at least one paw on me at all times.
I have a Havanese and they are definitely "velcro dogs" they were bread to be lap dogs and mine never leaves my side for a second. When I have to leave the house and can't take her along, she sits at the top of the stairs and waits for me to get home. She is literally just a bundle of love and affection. ❤️
My Pocket Bully is beyond Velcro. He’s even more of a Velcro than my Golden Retriever. People sometimes are afraid of him but soon find out he’s a lover ❤️❤️❤️
Surprised boxers weren't on the list! I work at a dog kennel and though hyper and crazy, every boxer I've seen is crazy sweet and loyal with their people. I also grew up with one that always had to be near us or touching us. He was the sweetest, dumbest dog I've ever met❤ RIP Toby ❤
I have an APBT - a Pittie. They are #6 on this incredible list of Velcro Dogs. You are absolutely right! Mine is a 70lb shelter rescue I've had since she was 6 months old. I would have more than one except the furniture would need to be screwed to the floor. These dogs LOVE playdates and play harder and faster than Anything I've experienced. Raise a Pit as part of your family and you have a very happy dog (and plenty of dog hair on your clothes, carpet, furniture, car seats.....)
Great Danes are well-known as Velcro dogs, they definitely belong at #1 on this list! Massive lap dogs! Thank you for recognizing that and showing it accurately!
I have had goldens, labs, and shelties, and while they were all really social and wanted to be with people, I never knew what a real velcro dog was until I got an English Shepherd. My ES follows me literally everywhere. He can be in the middle of a deep sleep, but if I go to the bathroom, he will immediately get up and wait outside the door. He us the size of a large golden, but crawls up into the chair where I sit and squeezes himself in beside me. If I take him out to the yard to pee, I have to walk around the yard with him - if I stand in one place, he will come sit beside me until I move. My ES is definitely the most special dog friend I've ever had...incredibly loving and loyal. And while they're shepherds, an ES should NEVER be left alone outside. They need at the very least another dog or more to feel comfortable. Wonderful friends
It depends more on the family than on the breed. We have had 3 mini Schnauzers, a English Pointer, a English Cocker, and 4 English Springers and they all have been 'velcro' dogs.
Can’t believe Boxers didn’t make the cut. My Boxers have always been like literal Velcro while my chihuahua barely opens her eyes to see what I’m doing. They’re too lazy to be Velcro dogs unless you’re carrying them. Boxers act like they’re leaving on a field trip just following me from the sofa to the loo.
Awwww, in my younger years I had Dobermans for a couple decades and they followed my every step!!! Doing dishes they layed by my feet, everywhere I went, they were there!! I miss them terribly...my velcro Dobe's...
My Malinois is definitely a Velcro dog. He wants to be with me every second of the day. I hate to leave him to go to work, because I know he wants me to stay home!
@@briswitalski9620 Before you consider getting a Belgian Malinois, research them. They must have good, positive training or they will be destructive and take charge. They are for experienced dog owners. If you are not Alpha to them, they will be the Alpha. They also need LOTS of exercise and mental stimulation (thinking games). Yes, mine is very loving to me, and people he considers in his pack, but can be aggressive to strangers. He is also VERY STRONG.

Great Danes having a life expectancy of just 10 years has to be one of the biggest injustices of life ever
The writer David Sedaris writes about his parents Dane making it to 15! You’re right though I’ve never had one the few I’ve met are sweeties maybe someday I will, but I’d fear for my couch I saw on tv one destroyed it out of separation anxiety
@@mysticblue0222 they may destroy your couch but never your heart
They can live longer now with careful breeding, preventative care, and quality food. I hear many of them live 12+ now
My beautiful harlequin great Dane lived 13 years strong!!!
Yeah, that’s the heartbreaking part about big dogs.☹️
There is a pit bull on my running path. Her name is Tails because she wags it all the time and is the sweetest girl ever! I love her so much!
Nice and accurate comment dog lover STRIKE 😁
I have a pitbull and he is beyond Velcro... He's one of the friendliest dogs in the neighborhood.
I agree...I have ...a amstaff pup and a adopted 5 yr old APBT....me is the biggest baby...stays by my side...follows me everywhere. Waits outside the bathroom door while I shower...
Not a guard dog at all 😅 I have one and my neighbours love her. The children play with her every day
GREAT DOGS!...I have had several in my lifetime they get a bad rap...loving great dogs!
I've heard that in England the dog breed is referred to as a nanny dog, so good with kids. But like most things in life, if a human can train it incorrectly...
it will.
Not all, but it only takes one for a bad rap.
Totally agree... mine was such a lover boy🥰
Cavaliers aren't Velcro, they are surgically attached. There is no avoiding them.
😂😂😂 i love them so much! There's a therapy dog that's a Cavalier that (before Covid hit) would come into work, (i work in a healthcare facility) everytime I'd see her, I'd HAVE to make time for her. I have a velcro Beagle at home who's very sweet, bet a Cavalier would make a great brother or sister to her!💕
Lol
Sure there's no harm in that! When the rest of the world is busy busy busy the dog has time for us.
I miss my pitbull, I had her since I was born but sadly lost her when I was 6 Since my dads friend was watching her but they left the backyard gate open so I lost her :<
She Was so sweet, never left my side and never bit anyone. I remember my parents telling me that she even tried to sleep with me when I was a baby.
I see you got a bit mixed up between your retriever and labrador pics. You might want to fix it👍🏾
Unfortunately TH-cam doesn't allow us to edit videos after upload. But, thank you for pointing that out.
I was gonna say the same thing. They showed one Lab in #2 and the rest were Goldens and maybe 1 possible Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
This was driving me crazy. How can you do a video about dog breeds and not know the difference between two of them? Labs and Goldens are both amazing dogs, but are much different both in looks and in behavior.
This Sun Child glad I’m not the only one who noticed that lol
I always called my Doberman a "barnacle" . . . stuck like glue.
US TOO!! That’s so true! Our Dobie our Barnacle Baby!! ❤️❤️

I have a pitbull that I rescued And i must say, they are very affectionate. I love it because I suffer from depression and anxiety but my pitty always keeps me company and cheers me up. Hes such a great dog.
I have a bullypit she's 4.5months she's so clingy I love her she's very well behaved and very lovey and kissy
My whole reason for having my pets has always been to have them cuddle up in the house and it beats me that people have a pet and turf it outdoors!
I'm a Dobie person but honestly how can you leave the Newfoundland off the list? The original Nannie Dog
Elizabeth Ferguson the nannie dog is the staffordshire bull terrier
@@stevenmamouzellos1916 the Newfoundland is an ancient breed they were made to guard and Nanny the Aristocrats children.
That's just fact.

I have a foster fail half great dane half pittie and he is super glue, oh and 140lbs.
lol I think all pitties consider themselves to be lap dogs, trying to convince them otherwise is purely feudal.... 😂
Left out one breed that is ridiculously notorious for their affection and need for contact:
Rat Terrier.
I can’t believe a Vizsla, the only dog I’ve ever heard referred to with the term “Velcro dog”, isn’t mentioned.
I second your call of attention to the Vizsla. The original Lap Dog.
I fully expected the Vizla to be dog #1. Chis according to this list are Velcro dogs, but my little girl might as well be a cat for how much time she spends with me, so I don’t have any faith in this countdown.
I thought they’d be number 1!
John Terby I agree! Mine is convinced she’s human and won’t leave anyone in the family alone for anything! I’m lowkey angry that Vizsla wasn’t number 1!
Yes I agreed
So true, and so lovable & yes protective. Pretty much just great big babies. Gotta love'm!
Gail Greenberg When they got to #1, I was like, “Where are the Rotties”?? Big ole babies! 😊
My first Rottie literally would put her chin in my hand as we walked around outside! Talk about taking heel to a new level! The dogs of perfection!
Cuddle bugs 🤗
Me too awww 🥰 I love Rottweilers
🤣🤣😎
LOL ive not been to the bathroom alone since I got my Berner!!! Gentle giants are definitely VELCRO DOGS

The hardest part of owning a dog!

I have a beagle client, she's not even MY dog, and she can't stand to not be in my lap when she visits. Never seen a dog so cuddly.
Always at my side at all time... SQUIRREL! You mean nothing to me human!
Pit bulls are extremely loyal, affectionate & highly intelligent... so misunderstood. Extremely high drive🐾
Doberman pinscher too
Whenever we're not outside my pit is laying on back with a bunch of pillows on the couch snoring like a freight train.
Love my pit lab mix and her big boxy head ♡
@Q+O lol so every pitbull is that one? you know the cause of the fear so find a way to get over the delusion

You will never, chill on the couch or in bed, and I promise you will never pee alone ever again when you've got one of these curly cuties!
oHmega14 haha I confirm that.
Unlike many of the breeds on the list, a poodle has a different level of intelligence. If you need the emotional support they will be there. They know.
At the same time it knows when you are busy and need alone time. For that reason it's not 100% clingy. That's why I love them.

My Mom's Rat terrier is always just behind her. If he ventures off he will come running back. We love Ono.
I have had three rattie's in my life and two of them are current dogs. They are beyond loyal and a true velcro dog. Their life is to make sure their pet parent is happy. The best part of rat terriers is their on/off switch. They love to play, romp and have a good time until it's time to sit down and snuggle. Accurate list. My shih-tzu is also like this, to the point where it gets annoying. She gets upset if she is not in someone's room at night and will paw at the door if you lock her out of whatever room you're in. She would be a good guard dog if she were at all intimidating.
What about the Boxer?? I was expecting that it would be No. I !!!!

An English Springer Spaniel is also considered a velcro dog but let's face it any dog can be a velcro dog when it loves you !
I knew my little Chihuahua girls would be on this list. They are so observant of your patterns, they know what you're going to do before you do. 😂❤️❤️
My rottie is like my shadow😀he goes wherever i go. Doing laundry, he will sit and stay there to watch, going upstairs or downstairs.Everything haha
Mini Schnauzers most definitely Velcro babies
Can’t believe Boxers didn’t make the cut. My Boxers have always been like literal Velcro while my chihuahua barely opens her eyes to see what I’m doing. They’re too lazy to be Velcro dogs unless you’re carrying them. Boxers act like they’re leaving on a field trip just following me from the sofa to the loo.
Boxers are definitely a velcro dog
Silly, energetic, endearing and loving
Awwww, in my younger years I had Dobermans for a couple decades and they followed my every step!!! Doing dishes they layed by my feet, everywhere I went, they were there!! I miss them terribly...my velcro Dobe's...
Our chihuahua is an amazing dog....a neighbourhood favourite, at 12 she looks like a puppy.
I have a red Dobie. Jeez..she's like glue..lol.
She's there when I get out of shower, she's there ALL THE TIME.
She's my other child.
Glad you include pit bulls. They are love doves!💕
