- In this video, we’ll discuss the top 15 things dogs hate about humans
Being Rushed at Potty Time
Dogs want to be able to take their time when they go out to potty. Aside from doing their business, they also like to have some time to explore and sniff. Instead of rushing your dog, train them to come back when they are done. This is easily done with treats and positive reinforcement.
Badly Timed Walks
Make sure you pay attention to your dog’s cues. If it is too hot or too cold out, a walk may not be the best idea. Oftentimes, humans like a midday walk. But keep in mind that in the middle of summer, the pavement could be scorching hot and very uncomfortable on your dog’s paws. In the winter, you will want to make sure the temperature is not too cold and that there is a place to walk where the snow is not cumbersome. Dogs can get snow in between their toes, making it painful to walk.
Poor Nail Trimming
If you are not sure how to do it properly, it is better left to a professional. If you cut your dog’s nails too short, you will be cutting their quick, a blood vessel and nerve found in the nail. This can result in a lot of blood and it hurts your dog.
On the flip side, if the nails are too long after clipping, they get in the way of your dog’s walking and can cause pain.
Deserting and Isolating
Dogs are pack animals. When they are in the wild, they do everything together and they are loyal to the pack. For a domestic dog, you are the leader of their pack. When you are not able to spend enough time with your dog, they can develop separation anxiety.
Hugging
Even though it’s tempting, full-body hugs aren’t good for dogs. A hug is usually threatening or unwelcome to them, especially if they feel trapped.
Dogs are not human so having someone come up and wrap their arms around their body or neck may be disconcerting. Rather than hugging a dog, let the dog lean into you and pet them on their back and chest.
A Tight Leash
Dogs get irritated if they are being pulled on their leash all the time. It is painful and it can injure them and also frustrate them. A dog can easily be leash trained with the use of a proper harness and positive reinforcement.
Deviating from the Schedule
Dogs are creatures of habit. They get accustomed to a schedule and come to expect certain things at certain times. Try to have a regular schedule for everything from feeding to play-time.
No Opportunity to Explore
Dogs need their exercise and love going on walks. But going for a walk and not having a chance to explore is no fun at all.
Dogs see the world primarily through scent. Rushing your dog through a walk without allowing them to stop is unkind.
Making them Apologize
Many people think that dogs know when they have done something wrong because they look guilty. But in reality, your dog isn’t sorry that they have chewed your shoes or knocked over your plants. Scientists believe that dogs can’t feel complex emotions such as guilt or shame. Your dog is just reacting to your body language and the tone of your voice. They appear scared or upset because you are angry at them.
Your House Has Scents They Hate
Dogs have about a 1000-10,000 of your ability to perceive scents. There are smells that we may barely notice but they could be very annoying to your dog. Try to minimize perfumes, cleaning products, vinegar, chili peppers, and citrus scents. This is not to say these items can’t be in your house at all but you should provide a place for your dog where the scent would not be a problem.
Inconsistency
Make sure that you all use the same hand signals and verbal commands with your dog so they know what you want. Giving mixed signals will confuse and frustrate your pet.
Bath time
Dogs hate getting a bath due to a variety of reasons. Their aversion to bathing goes far beyond the concept of getting wet. They might hate the smell of the shampoo, or they might be afraid of the running water.
Phrases
Commands with too many words confuse and frustrate them. Use keywords rather than long phrases, and reinforce these words with gestures and body language.
Past Trauma
The Humane Society speculates that some dogs are born with certain fears. They can also develop fear from past trauma. Many dogs fear loud noises, and any loud and unfamiliar sound may startle them.
Yelling at your dog is another way that creates anxiety and stress.
Dogs can also be afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks. You can't control forces of nature but you should avoid taking your pet to places where their fears may intensify.
Dressing your dog
Don’t buy clothes for your pet just because they may look cute in them.

Yeah my parents yelled at two of my puppies so much that before they were more than 7 months old, they hated humans and everything. One turned out okay, but the other two were EXTREMELY shy and never let anybody touch them till they died from my neighbor's dog.

I’m not sure about them not having emotions of shame or guilt because when I get home every day, I can tell if my dog has done something wrong by their reaction as soon as I hit the front door. I go by their reaction. And their reaction always lead me right.

Lol, my dog hugs me, I don't even have to hug him back or initiate the hug. If I'm sitting down he walks up, rests his head on my shoulder, and puts his forelimbs around me. Yesterday, I was ill. My 32 kilos dog snuggled up to me really close. It was close enough so I could properly hug my dog's back like a human hug for the first time with my hands wrapped around him. He kept turning his head around trying to lick my face. Then I turned away because I was in an awkward position and then he came up to me and licked me all over my face. Then he lay down on my lap, fell asleep and started snoring loudly. It was so cute. 😍And he's a big dog as well and I was really cold because I was ill so this big, warm, soft dog lying across me was really nice 😊😍
So my dog is the same. He didn't mind at all. He knew I was doing it for affection too because he tried to lick me while I was doing it.
I think it just depends on your specific dog. My dog Dodger personally loves affection. When I hug a family member, he jumps up and puts his paws on my shoulder because he wants to be part of the group hug.💖💕😍

I put a sweatshirt on my pup. She always seems cold despite not being a short hair, she’s got a wire coat. I know she doesn’t mind it since she’s always looking for warmth. We even bought a warming pad for her favorite chair, since we noticed her shivering. I hope it warms up already. She loves sun bathing but the dreary weather has made that less fun for her.
She might not be cold the shivering might not mean she is cold it probably means that she she’s actually shaking so therefore there are two things that It could be shaker sindrom or she might be scared of you 🤔

You need to train your dog 😂😂
If the dog controls you, you need yo train them. Not hit it or anything, of course, but teach it to respect you. If they want to go on a walk, they ask for it quietly. If they want to eat, they must bring you their bowl. And, most importantly, NEVER let your dog pull on its leash. It hurts the dog and ruins any discipline you've taught them.

Let me tell you a story about my dog (He passed late last year, rest in peace my brother). He was once playing with my older brother with a toy and leapt up to grab it. Instead he accidentally bit my brother's arm and caused it to bleed. I want to stress that nobody at any point got mad at him. We could all see that it was an accident, there was no yelling or scolding. He was devastated, his playful mannerisms vanishing in an instant. We even tried cheering him up by petting him and telling him it's okay, offering treats and play. No matter what he was visibly down and upset over what had transpired for a good while afterwards.
This video has a lot of great general tips that are sure to be true for a lot of dogs but, as any proud dog owner would tell you, dogs are individuals and hate/like different things.
It depends on your dog. It’s personality.
When my dog pees in the house, she looks visually sad before I even see the pee (tail is wagging faster than usual, and her ears are down). When I do see the mess, I try to calm her down so that she doesn't go through any more stress.
My dog will rub her face on my mustache and neck beard when she’s hungry. She also likes hugs when she does this. But not tight hugs
But when she eats a piece of food off the floor she lays on the couch by herself.
One of my dogs has had lots of trauma but she knows us very well and can understand basic conversation.
I can just imagine what was going though his head. A flashback to that one day where he was lying in the living room and the news was on where a dog was put down for attacking someone and he just had an existential crisis. "So this is it, this is how I die." Dogs are great.

The routine part is the hard part for me 😬😬. My schedule for work changes all the time and sometimes I’m working from 2-9 others I’m working from 5-11. Some I’m gone all day (which she goes to a dog sitter for) but I can’t get my pup on a schedule because I don’t have a set schedule myself

btw, if u have a dog that pulls you on the leash, just stop *every* time they pull. when they stop, and notice that you had them stop then you start moving again. it'll learn "when I pull on a leash I'll have to stop"

My dog learned, by himself, french commands. Like I spoke german and Portuguese with him and once we moved to the French speaking part, he just learned commands like sit, stay, etc.. in french. Now I speak 3 languages to my dog and he understands the same commands in each language ❤
These can’t be said about all dogs. Every individual dog has its own needs.

Edit: I decided to go into more detail in case anyone wonders so
First I go down on my knees ((she’s a jack Russell terrier so she’s small)) and I pat my shoulder she then jumps up on me and lays her head in the crook of my neck and I gently push her towards me a bit so we’re close and I gently wrap my arms back around her . We once sat in the position for 5 minutes without moving

I taught my dog to hug too! He's a larger dog (Blue Australian Cattle Dog) so I have to be careful who he hugs but this is how I did it. I patted my chest with my face and told him "hug", picking him up by his front arms and carefully placing them just above my hips and hugging him back. I repeated this process until he got the hang of it, bringing his arms up himself. My dog would observe other people hugging and would take on some behaviours he sees. Such as laying his head on top of the other person's head or squeezing their waist tight. If it's a taller person he sometimes jumps to get up to their level.
Yeaahhh my friends jack russell is a cuddler, she will come up on our laps and demand us to hold her...almost like a baby so we can give her tummy pats, she prefers the arms so she can be on us and not feel like she gonna fall off

Cockapoo Crazy! I think that the video creator means the majority. For example, my dog loves swimming in water outdoors, so long as it is a good temperature and not too loud, but he absolutely hates baths. I have noticed that he seems to fear the drain and faucet area most.
My old dog hated all water, although he was part lab. He feared it so much! He even learned not to get muddy, as to avoid bathes.
