    In this video I'll go over my list of things you should do right away after you buy a used car. When buying a used car, you never really know what you are getting so you should do a few maintenance items right away, including Changing all the fluids (antifreeze, gear oil, oil, tranny fluid, clutch fluid, etc.), Greasing the entire vehicle (including the tie rod ends, ball joints, u-joints, and all zerk fittings), Doing a tune-up including (a new fuel filter, new cap and rotor, spark plugs, plug wires, air filter, etc), and checking things like (radiator hoses, heater hoses, brake pads, belts, shocks, and wiper blades). It's a big list but necessary after purchasing your new used car.
    Disclaimer - This product is meant for entertainment purposes only. Your mileage may vary. Do not try this at home. Void where prohibited. Some assembly required. For off-road use only. Slippery when wet. Batteries not included. Do not use while operating a motor vehicle, heavy equipment, cherokee, wrangler, or any jeep vehicle. May be too intense for some viewers and children under 30 years of age. Please remain seated until the ride has come to a complete stop. Studies have shown viewing these videos causes increased cancer risks in laboratory test people. I am not a professional, I have no training, I'm not even particularly good at horse whispering. Don't believe everything that you know. Please keep your hands in the vehicle at all times. Do not tap on glass. Do not eat anything that has been on the floor for more than 3 days. Keep your hands to yourself. Not to be taken internally. Reproduction strictly prohibited. Driver does not carry cash. Objects in jeep mirrors may be farther than they appear.

    Good video! Something I'd do is run Sea Foam through the fuel and the oil when you get it (And change your oil as soon as it is circulated enough.)

  • @bleepinjeep
    @bleepinjeep  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    No I get ya, I just added it up and for the Cherokee if you DIY you could easily do all those things for slightly under $200. Other cars may vary depending on the oil you select, spark plug types, rareness, etc.

    hey Mat good tips...
    jeep specially cherokees require a special diff gear oil ..you should define what type or where to get it..
    Also the standard transmission what type of oil is recommended by manufacturer and what other proven offroad oil is recommended ?

    i'll assume you mean the diffs and not the transfer case. Everyone I know uses RTV but no, I dont see any reason a factory gasket would be a problem.

  • @surjracer56
    @surjracer56 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    When changing the fluids in the tranfer cases I want to replace the gasket with the factory gaskets as opossed to using rtv type. My concern is that I have OX lockers on the front and rear. Will the factory gaskets interfere with the lockers function when everything is back together? 97 Wrangler

      @@ellisbiglips , This stuff can be cheap, depending on vehicle. I didn't pay anything to replace the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap or rotor when I tuned up my 6.5 Detroit Diesel. Just print out the list and take it to Autozone or some other parts store and ask. Prices vary wildly from one car to the next. On my truck a shock costed me $35. A shock on a Mercedes can easily top $1,000 (that's just one shock by the way, not the whole set.)

      FIRST: You don't pay someone to do these things, you do them yourself. Costs at most a few hundred dollars. SECOND: If you bought a Jeep expecting to pay someone else do maintenance then you bought the wrong car. and LASTLY: You don't buy a used vehicle expecting no maintenance, that's how you get ripped off
