    The sad thing is all the people who were sold ICE vehicles, when they should not have been. Now they are stuck with a car they will never be able to sell, that will (eventually) be too expensive to insure, register and run, and that will not comply with emission regulations.

      This is a coming a financial cliff. But. Few folk really understand EVs yet. So, my creator hopes he has time to unload the ICEcycle before folks catch on ...

    I definitely believe the model Y will pass the 3 and possibly make the #5 or higher spot.

    Sam, what about Hyundai? Are they able to ramp up the Ioniq 5? It's looks are smashing. Technology seems great. But when can we expect Hyundai to deliver? (recycled) inquiring minds want to know.

    That Ford F-150 you refer to Mr Viking, is that the electric one or the ICE? because you only show (I think) the EV version.

  • @ecurb10
    @ecurb10 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yep, this is truly historic.
    A few other surprises on that list too regarding the ICE cars: I would've thought there'd be more VWs, a Golf at least. I thought they were trying to out-sell Toyota...long way to go it seems.
    And no Mazdas?
    And what's Honda doing up there?
    Just sayin'.

    My wife and myself are wondering what it would be like to have an older rolls royce converted to electric, it sounds like it would be an interesting project. Its just a thought.

    • @johnwilson5743
      @johnwilson5743 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a company in England that does those conversions to order. Definitely not cheap though. They have converted many 911 Porshe cars to electric and gained the most publicity when they converted an E type Jag to electric. I think it cost 1 million pounds. I think it was Prince William (??? not sure) that drove it for the publicity shots. It's on-line so check it out. They have already done some Rolls Royce cars. Cheers.

    Just wait until the Cybertruck starts production, by 2025 that will outsell the Model Y by probably as much as 3 to 1 I reckon.

      @@bigdougscommentary5719 I'm well aware of that, and if they doubled production, they would still sell out.
      With that said, do you really think most people can afford to buy a 55-65k vehicle to make it the best selling car in the world?
      Most people can't afford something like that, it's priced like a luxury vehicle.

    Is it really illegal to have a left side drive vehicle in Australia? I live in US and can get right side drive vehicles (i.e. mail trucks) that are legal. Perhaps it's just a commercial sales requirement, did find it odd that you said some would import the vehicle then have it converted, can't wait to see what they do with center steer vehicles like Tesla Semi. 😆

    • @danharold3087
      @danharold3087 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Having the wheel on the 'wrong' side is unhandly. A mail man lives with it because it makes his job easier. No law in the US that says where the wheel needs to be. Tesla Semi should be fine.

    • @ecurb10
      @ecurb10 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not illegal here as we can have older classic cars at least with left hand drive, though it needs special registration.

    I'm not sure if the model 3 will move much higher. I think it's sales numbers will be cannibalized by the Y which will certainly be top 10.

  • @qrlee6762

    I think Tesla will have alot of competition from traditional carmakers. Tesla is a 4runner in EV (combining smartphone, internet with EV). However, it might be tough to hold the position next year and beyond.

    • @bigdougscommentary5719
      @bigdougscommentary5719 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Traditional carmakers don’t know how to make an EV that sells at a profit.
