- I told you I would deck my UDR to the rafters with upgrades, didn't I? This is the first stint of said upgrade spree: installing working fans, Pre-run check, alloy beadlock wheels, Vitavon rear axle mod, and a bit of a rip at the end.
Enjoy!

This is the best video I've seen on rc upgrades. You are so much more intelligent than 90 plus percent of people that create content for rc stuff on TH-cam. 👍
Wow, thank you, that's really heartwarming!
Agreed
The attention to detail here really speaks to me 👍Well done, looking forward to following your progress with this one.
Thank you! Glad to know there are like-minded people out there. Welcome to my channel!
Wow, you do some quality work!!!! I'm Definatly excited to see more of your stuff!!!!
Thank you for showing such enthusiasm! Much appreciated! Right now I'm driving it, so you can look forward to maintenance, and maybe some more upgrades down the line. So far, it is holding up really well. Next video drops tomorrow. Stay tuned! 🙂
Honest and informative review.
I guess the people who gave rave reviews for parts that are really good enough for what you pay are dubious.
Thanks JoskMclaren, I try my best to put useful information out there. Glad it helps. :-)
I just enjoyed your video and look forward to more UDR content, oh and became your 300th sub. 😊
Wow, that is so cool! Thank you for doing that, it means a lot to me. I do hope that you will find my content entertaining. Stay in touch!
Great detailed videos. Subscribed.
Thank you so much! See you soon!
Vice nice build and great ideas. I want to see it run👍🏿👍🏿
Thank you! You will see it next Friday, I went for a 6s Rip in the woods. I hope you like it!
Holy molly, sir, this looks awesome
Thank you!

I hope you got your money back on the suspension arms.
I know. The thing is, I have so little free time that I waited until I had all the parts before working flat out to put them all together. The 14 days had past by then. So now they gather dust on the corner of the work bench. Live and learn.
@@rcwb110 what manufacturer did you get the arms from?
UDR owners need do avoid those.
@@extec101 All the parts are linked in the description.
This is actually amazing!!!! Love the paint job too! Might have too add some of these to my custom trophy truck! New sub from me!👍👍👍love the content!
Thank you, and welcome aboard! I am quite happy with the outcome of the paint job as well. It is the most complex one I have ever done. :-) Have fun with your trophy truck!
@@rcwb110 thank you for the kind reply 😊
I love making UDR videos! You got a new sub from me!
Welcome aboard! Looking forward to watching your videos!
@@rcwb110 Thank you!
@@makestuffbetter19Subbed to your channel too, by the way. Good stuff!
Awesome!! I do love the udr!
Me too!
What did you install for your lower trailing arms, brand , and what brand are your beadlock rims ?
Hi. The links to all the parts are in the description. The wheels are no longer in stock, but I am sure that a quick search on the web will reveal a shop who has them.
I put silicone ear plugs in my Xmaxx center diff instead of that 20mill gel, pretty common cheap and cheerful mod.
As long as it works, that's all that matters. :-)
How did you seal the axle case so it would hold fluid properly?
You can find the detailed video on Patreon: www.patreon.com/mcevoy
The first version I used didn't hold up as well as I expected, and I have now found a much better way. Video about that will be coming soon.
grat camera work!
Thank you, I try my best.
wow it was nice video, subscribed.
Thanks and welcome!
Great video very interesting I have just subscribed to your channel
Thanks and welcome! I hope you will find future videos just as interesting.
What beadlock wheels are those I’m not seeing them in the discription
They are no longer available where I bought them, but I have found the same on ebay: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364065622476 They are really cool. Well made and easy to assemble.
Great work! Looking forward to your channel growth! The limited slip via grease slips with more rpm and acts like an open diff as the higher rpm overcomes the grease resistance, at this scale a real limited slip and clutch pack seems possible!
How long did the shrink tube last, the torque of the nut really jams the pins deep inside the hex, so it may last a while?
Thank you for your support, it is highly appreciated! Shrink tube is still going strong. Hasn't moved yet. It can easily be renewed if it fails, however. And the limited slip with 20.000.000 silicone seems to hold up its promises so far. I am quite happy with it. I haven't touched the front yet, still testing as it is.
Awesome 😮
Thanks 🤗
3:53 you did an amazing job there buddy, i always thought that same about vanquish parts, for how expensive they are why are they a dull flat grey color
Thank you! I am really happy with the outcome after so many hours of work.
A whole machine shop you got? Seriously neat and amazing production
Thank you! I am a professional mechanic, and I do this as a hobby. Lots of fun during the little bit of spare time that I have, and I enjoy producing stuff like this for all to enjoy. I am glad you like it! :-)
The rough aluminum surface acts as a better heatsink than a smooth polished one. But that's not why Vtvo did that. The rough surface also means it was much cheaper to machine.
I absolutely agree with both your statements. It heats up, but you can't say it gets hot. It's just lukewarm. Still, the ribs provide more surface contact with the surrounding air (but man does it look terrible!). And yes, it makes machining quicker, so is much more profitable for them.
what beatlocks did you use?
Links to all the parts are in the video description.
Best upgrade for that thing is for it to hit the trashcan.
I suppose you have good reasons for making such a suggestion? Would you care to elaborate, so people can better understand?
Many of the upvrade parts are hit and miss. Some of them very expensive. TREAL parts fit most often perfectly but they only make wheels for the UDR now. I used to use my UDR so much that many of the parts I installed have worn out and ive been putting the stock parts back onto it that i had originally taken off. I would replace the parts with the aftermarket part i put onto it but many, like the TREAL parts arent any longer made. Aside from that, i dont use it that much anymore. Yours looks pretty dang good. Mine only looked that good for a week cause i absolutely thrash on my RCs from day one.with my rc collection, i only put on aftermarket parts if it breaks more than twice or it a better choice over stock, like most of the electronics in RTRs, or a metal bellcrank vs plastic.
Thanks for your input. :-)
11:22 what brand are these?, so we know what not to buy
Links to all the parts are in the description. :-)
That chassis skin could’ve been for a different version?
I bought a clear body and painted it myself. How do you like it? 🙂
Epic
@@Rc_cars5Thank you! Much appreciated! It was good fun to do.
Great build you do nice work, just make sure to say the name of the crap parts, we dont want anyone else to order junk.....that sucks you had to find.out about those parts that way....Great build looks amazing 💯
Links to all the parts are in the video description. Even the crappy ones. :-) Thanks for stopping by!
@@rcwb110gotcha I'm looking forward to more vids 💯
@@andyb9994I produce videos on top of my daytime job, so don't worry if I don't post every week, as the job has a tendency to get in the way. lol. Keep an eye on the community tab, Instagram and if you feel like it, Patreon. Take care, and I am grateful to have you on board!
Subbed!
Thanks Marco, much appreciated!
You don't want aluminum front arms. I've seen so many of them broken I can't imagine dealing with bent arms and breaking the pins and bulkheads from aluminum arms.
Absolutely. A bit of flew is welcome, in hindsight, and this is provided masterfully by the original parts.
great video! german? to be honest i liked the finish of the Axle... but i appriciate the work
Thanks! I am of Scottish descent, and live in Belgium.
Were those Al front arms also Vitavon? I'm very surprised they were so bad, Vitavon is second only to M2C Racing. Check out the anti-roll bars Vitavon do, the standard Traxxas ones are shitty and break very easily, especially the front one; it can snap just from you snaking the truck down a road at low speed.
Hi! Nope, not Vitavon. Link is in the video description. Good to know about those ARB's!
@@rcwb110 Ah I see, that explain it. I would avoid any more metal arms if I were you, you need the flex of the plastic, otherwise things will bend or snap. If you want to go insane though Vitavon even do an entirely redesigned _chassis_ in 7075 Al, very expensive!
Indeed, a bit of flex is much better than breaking something. I did see that chassis. Crazy expensive. And it must be insanely heavy, too. No, from now on I think I will do moderate upgrades along the way, I've done the top notch crazy stuff already. Hehe. Time to enjoy it! :-)
@@rcwb110 Good bet mate, love the rig, looks fantastic!
@@RYNOCIRATOR_V5 Thank you!
Who knew that vitavon would let parts out the door looking like 3D prints 😂 that's astonishingly bad.
And their mega priced arms were a joke, who's been overrating that company?
The floor pans are the prime example of where quality needs to be a must, hope one doesnt rip out.
All in all you've personally transformed that car into more spectacular looking beast.
Dont forget a strongly worded email to vitavon and demand a full refund on parts 👍
Parts other than the rear axle and lower rear suspension links have been sourced elsewhere, but indeed, I was not too happy with the finish of that axle, given what was paid for it. That's just me though, most consumers seem happy with it as it is... As for the rest, well, that's cheap parts for you. Not much R&D, except if it stands for Ripping Dollars off of you. Live and learn.
@@rcwb110 mega madness with these parts companies brother, we'll do the RnD when the parts arrive 👍
That must be both of us parts need that final finish 3D look must mean strength 😆
Either way you've made a great looking car out of the box 💪👍
@@mehimrc1314Thank you, brother! Looking forward to see what you've been up to as well. 🙂
You're never going to drive it. To scared something won't line up or a tire was turning to fast.
Wait until next Friday. This is built to be used. Rear axle oil has already been drained and renewed, and seals have been improved. Ready to rip! :-)
Very impressive!!!!! I love my udr !! Definitely going to subscribe!!!!!!!!
