i feel like there's alot of symbolism here them im not totally getting. Like: Before metal (ormagoden) the world was blind. But metal defied the norm and forced people to look at themselves in a different light. so they took the emotional core of the world, the hearts and minds of people, and turned it against the music, damning it and destroying the original source but simultaneously making it a martyr for future movements. Or maybe im just crazy.
I feel like you're twisting it a bit, it's pretty much a very simple and classical creation myth, with the "Prometheus/Adam and Eve" defeating of ignorance and all that. The symbolism might be a bit of an extra, but I don't think that was first and foremost why they told the story.

That’s the fun thing about lore and religion. It’s much like modern day art, in which its all about how one interprets it! There is no right nor wrong way to which you receive and comprehend this knowledge.
Part of the problem with Brutal Legend was that this lore stuff was scattered around as completely optional bonus collections, yet the game kinda assumes that you watched at least some of it. This becomes especially obvious after Lionwhyte's Death, when the characters suddenly start talking about the Black Tear Rebellion and Time Travel like they were things the player knew about already. These videos should've been weaved into the main story somehow, rather than stashed away in hard to find locations.
@@gayraiplays5858 It did not make me want to find the lore and I was confused as hell. This was a terrible design choice and did not help retain story driven consumers like me, while the game was already losing gameplay focused players. Even when I played the game originally and just now, I was surprised and confused when they started talking about time travel. The whole time I was thinking awesome fantasy alternate dimension...both times.
A new kind of music was born. It was as hard and heavy as the Fire Beast's metallic flesh. It had the power of his blood, the heat of his fire, the speed of his flight, and the mighty roar of his death cry. But is also had the angelic beauty of Aetulia's song, and a touch of her mournful wail. Its words told the story of a fierce and noble age. It was an anthem of the people, and they called it Heavy Metal. Well, this is touching. Makes me fucking cry.

This game truly was an underrated gem. Would love this kinda story and world building for other genres/eras of music. One for rock, rap, r&b, country, connect them all with an overarching deity representing the blues…somebody write this down
I have basically the same idea myself. What if Aetulia was a native of the world of Classical Music who was banished to the Untouched Place underneath what would eventually become the Brütal Lands, a.k.a the world of Heavy Metal? Heavy Metal is believed to have some subtle similarities with Classical Music. Ormagöden could also have originated from the world of Rock Music, but was far too powerful to be allowed to stay there, resulting in his unintentional wake up call to the “First Ones”.
For rap, a child of endless contempt for the rulers. One who harnesses his temper to weave cunning words of rebellion and strength. He need not do a thing, for his power went to those he deemed needing of it. Country, a place of hearth, home, and effort. One where the fruits of one’s labor is often payed with toil. To sate that, their god taught them soothing melodies to always bring with them- to heal their weary hearts and strengthen their resolve, with the reminder of the people they struggled for.
Anyone here in 2k19? This game was an instant legend! Best game ever imo! We should all push for Jack Black to get out of Minecraft and into Bladehenge once more!
What I thought I was about to see: this is going be some quirky but fun cut scenes that don't take themselves too seriously. What I experienced: Holy shit I think this may be the most epic and metal legend I have ever seen.
God I wish this game got sequel, or was popular enough to get a spin-off movie or series on a streaming service. Only reason I say streaming is because unless Adult Swim took on the challenge, I can't see any network both picking it up, or doing the story any justice. I mean, Brendan Small and his team from Metalocalypse did a short where Eddie Riggs did a stint as Dethklok's roadie. Small or Tartakovsky could pull it off, but that's just my opinion.
One of the most badass game lore ever made, from a game that the concept of it probably rose from an inside joke. Like there's no reason for the game to have this level of awesomeness in the lore's writing, but yeah, they totally outdone themselves. 🤣
It'd indeed explain a lot, but there's ONE detail that wouldn't make sense: Succoria wouldn't have had any reason to give up, since the "dimension" of modern men wouldn't be the imminent future of her home dimension.
I really do hope we get a sequel that involves going back and forth between the age of modern man and the age of metal, maybe trying to bring back the glory of the olden days to the present ones
There are 2 concepts i theorized on succoria's appearance: The first concept could possibly resemble a female draenei from WoW, but more an eredar look with the white wings and horns. The second is similar to the first only the face could resemble mileenas but where her mouth is bonded.
I know this is meant a little tongue-in-cheek, a little humorous but damn. Did they actually put effort into it. Like halfway through I’m not really laughing I’m just captivated

So it’s a constant Paradox. As long as Rignarok leaves the past to the future with Secoria and they give birth to Eddie, the latter can return to the past, kill Doviculus, and collapse the demon empire. That’s how the modern world is no longer under demon rule. Then when the future comes and everyone is long dead, the cycle will continue with Rignarok and Secoria arriving. But it makes you wonder, who would be the descendants of everyone?
Necry The guy who voiced Yen Sid (yes, the high magic lord in the Disney film Fantasia). You can literally think that a grand wizard is telling you a tale of metal.
As far as creation myths go, this isn't a bad one. It has everything that one really needs to make a world in it. Four elements, a great god who wasn't quite an all loving creature, but only did damage when you harmed it, and who swept away the darkness with its final act. The rise of new powers between the current age and that formative one. A race both beautiful and beloved by someone within the world, and a force of darkness, not made by hate, but instead because they love too much someone else, and that turns into pure disdain for anyone who is not their beloved. All in all, THIS is how you do myth making.

Excelent game. And Heavy metal is for the most part is a really good music. If you dont like it you dont have a soul.
This titan they sound so cool 😎
So it’s a constant Paradox. As long as Rignarok leaves the past to the future with Secoria and they give birth to Eddie, the latter can return to the past, kill Doviculus, and collapse the demon empire. That’s how the modern world is no longer under demon rule. Then when the future comes and everyone is long dead, the cycle will continue with Rignarok and Secoria arriving. But it makes you wonder, who would be the descendants of everyone?
So, Ed wears the magic belt to honor his dad?… Aww! That’s so sweet
I don’t know who read this, nor the background, but a epic narration of metal lore was born from it
Necry
The guy who voiced Yen Sid (yes, the high magic lord in the Disney film Fantasia). You can literally think that a grand wizard is telling you a tale of metal.
The 'Song of the titans' is the most beautiful thing ever written....
Funny, i just realized how much Rignarok looks like the Nordic Chad meme years before it was created
The really made some of the most badass lore for 1 game that will never get a sequel. That's tragic man
The narration by Corey Burton is perfect!
Even if i don't understand everything i must say that the french version narrator is as perfect as the english one
I got a new bedtime story for my niece.
This is so great its like my bedtime story! Listen to this every night on my phone to help me sleep ^_^ awsomely epic!
Titan logic: something annoys you, drop a fucking mountain on it
I want a remaster, with improvments!
All in all, THIS is how you do myth making.
i was into metal before this game, and after going through it 3 times im fully dedicated to metal
So this is why Metal is cool this is how it was Created
