I feel you man, portal 1/2 were masterpieces, I'd give anything to replay them blind. It's sad that we may never get a portal 3 either, aperture desk job was amazing but it's not a full sequel
Same here! I just managed to play it now after so many years, and yes, this is one of the few games that are amazing on the first experience. You can replay the game how much you want, but the feeling of not knowing the plot while you play is something else. And this song complements that perfectly

Man, do I miss the feeling of playing this game for the first time. If only I could experience that magical feeling again. GLaDOS is the best antagonist in any video game, ever, and nobody can change my mind. Her sarcasticness with every voiceline, her incredible design, and absolutely everything valve did for this game resonates deeply inside me. If only portal 3 was being worked on, then I could finally experience playing one of these games for the first time and relive my childhood memories I grew so fond of once again.

But, if you have a purchased copy of either Portal, there's a community based mod called Portal Reloaded that's free. There's a 3rd type of portal that jumps through time.

I cant explain how hearing the two ending song makes me feel other than a nostalgic glee i really just love everything about portal. I want to give my self an at home lobotomy just to fall in love with the portal franchise all over again. Great fucking game, I hope if aliens ever visit they should take a copy or two to really understand what peak human science fiction is.

Well it has been like 8 years since that time so I don't exactly remember, but I think I pretty much didn't understand anything because I was just starting english. I had to use Google translate to understand the title, and didn't bother to translate much more. So yeah, it wasn't until recently that I could figure out what this song is about!
Now for the listening part, I remember that I could understand when she says "Still alive" because it is just 2 short words and I knew it was the title (and also because it was written on the screen while the music was playing ^^), but for the rest I didn't hear words but rather spoken sounds as everyone can hear when listening to a foreign language. That didn't stop me from liking the music, as I was focusing on the melody!

It always amuses me that valve packaged this game in a bundle like an extra because it was a side project and they were afraid that nobody would like it but then it went on to become the most beloved game of all time. How do you make the most beloved game of all time by accident?

could you.. touch the edge of a portal..? what if you put your arm halfway into a portal, and just.. let it go down until it hit the border? i know portals are infinitely thin since they directly connect spaces without creating any new space in between, and also because i have common sense, but.... yeah what would happen if you tried touching the edge of a portal? would it slice through? would the universe collapse in on itself? would it feel like anything?

the portal 2 ost album cover is genius. GLaDOS is huge in it, although she isn't really that big; the symbolism being that in terms of control and influence, she is that gigantic.
it's hilarious how the boxes with legs were smarter than wheatley. when GLaDOS says the paradox, they all immidiately shut down, unlike wheatley. such a nice detail.
speaking of the boxes with legs.. i love the frankenturrets. i'm pretty sure they're supposed to resemble hermit crabs, and that's just.. so adorable to me. i have such a huge soft spot for tiny crawly animals like that.. and i have a soft spot just as big for turrets and weighted storage cubes.. and the frankenturret is both combined.. absolutely adorable.

Im turning 21 in a month which is young, but im seeing so many "I wasnt born yet when this game came out" comments cause while i didnt hear of Portal till 2011, i remember 2007 clear as day (I saw Shrek The Third and The Simpsons Movie in theaters) so these comments fuck with me. That being said Portal is an awesome game.
