I think its stupid how people knock the interior because it doesn't have the biggest screen or all these fancy things, when in reality what's the point?? As long as it's a solid reliable car with most of today's features then it's solid. When u start getting all fancy that's when stuff starts messing up & it's more expensive to fix. People just LOVE to complain I swear 😮💨🙄
Because that's how car companies trick people these days. For brands that people wouldn't touch 10 years ago (Hyundai/KIA, Mazda come to mind) the main selling point these days is technology. "Ignore our crappy materials and shoddy build quality LOOK AT ALL THESE SCREENS"
100% agreed. All these auto makers enticing people with technology but they spend pennies on the power train. I hate that it's all moving to touch screen controls as well. Give me old fashioned knobs for the controls.
lol same i have a 2009 Honda Pilot with 131800 miles. I changed the timing belt because that was the only issue. but now I'm only going to do oil changes and not repair anything else because I really want the new one.
I just traded in my 2013 Pilot and literally cried doing it. I loved that car. I didn't like the 2025 Pilot. Not a huge fan of the look and it's longer than the 2013 so would be a tight fit in my garage. I ended up getting a 2025 CRV hybrid. Which is only a few inches shorter. And I didn't need the 3rd row anymore
Thank y'all so much for breaking out the tape measure! So many reviewers don't. Cargo numbers are great, but I need the actual length and width. Keep up the great work.
Everyone's worried about interior and electronic BS. The Logical person will worry about the engine, fuel economy, reliability, safety, etc. I have an 09 pilot that's is still my everyday runner and it's been through a lot. ManyEast coast runs, MD-FL, and I pull dirtbikes with it, down paths I probably shouldn't of but it handles great. Not even the 4x4 version at that. Oh yeah, it's over 320K miles and still going. Honda pilots are solid vehicles.
Great job on measuring not only from the back of the front seats, but also from the 2nd and 3rd row, width and height of the cargo space! Noticed you’ve recently added those to your reviews, hopefully you’ll be able to update the other 3-row crossovers you’ve reviewed before.
Request answered! Hello Josh and Mason! Great video ❤❤❤ Love the pilot however not happy with the 9 and 7 inch display. Wish it could be the accord’s screen or Highlander’s screen. Excited for tomorrow’s video! ❤ Hope you’re having a good start to your week!
The only thing that I think puts this car (especially the size of this car) ahead of its competitors is the retention of that classic 3.5L V6 Honda engine and not a turbo'd 2.5L which means this engine will last forever. Parts of the interior look premium but they did cheap-out in areas such as the plasticky center-stack. Right- knee lean will be on that plastic surface which I wish they covered in soft-touch plastic at least. Also that resolution on the camera viewed on entertainment screen is weak as well. 3rd row comes in handy when shuffling around kids or even adult visitors and that's the strong selling point for this car including that valuable cargo space when those 3rd rows are folded downwards. That V6 is going to give you a seamless drive and you can feel that power and refinement this Honda engine can give you once you push that pedal down to the floor. I had it in my 2006 Honda Odyssey minivan and it was never a slouch especially with that VTEC engine. The one thing it doesn't have that those 2.5L Turbo engines are the electric motors that give you instant torque.
You can also flip the cap for the trunk cubby for the weather resistant material in case you have dirty stuff going in the trunk. (ex. the kids baseball cleats). He missed that at min/16:55
That physical volume knob should be on the center console where the auto stop/start defeat button is (and the auto stop/start button should be next to the ignition button).
You really couldn't compare the two. The MDX has standard features like Jewel Eye headlights. The pilot doesn't have this. The suspension on the MDX is Double Wishbone. The Audio System is much better in MDX. However when you say Base MDX not sure if you mean any Non Type S trim. The Elite and Black Edition Pilot trims have features that only Advance Package MDX have. The 360 Multi-View Camera System and Ventilated front seats.
@mitchellshareratleast100su7 Still the Elite and Black Edition Pilot key features are AWD, Heads-Up Display, Ventilated Front Seats, 360 Multi-View Camera System, Heat Steering Wheel few other features. To get those same features in a Acura MDX you have to put the Advance Package. That puts that Acura at $64,000. You can't get a Base MDX and say you want to add ventilated seats or Heads-Up Display in windshield or 360 Multi-View Camera System. You have to get Advance Package to get these features. The Pilot has less premium standard features. But the Key ones on standard on Elite and Black Edition make that Acura MDX way more.
Excellent review. It certainly is spacious and 6-cylinder engines are hard to come by, but you point out what should be on the mind of everyone looking at this on the lot: The price for this creeps up really close to the MDX.
No it's not close in price. The Black Edition is an Elite with an appearance package extra cost. But an Elite Pilot trim does not have some of the premium standard features of MDX Jewel Eye headlights and Audio System. But you have to get Advance Package MDX to get few of the features the Pilot Elite and Black Edition have. The 360 Multi-View Camera System The Ventilated Front Seats The Heads-Up Display. Unless you get Advance Package MDX you don't get those features.
The Pilot is great and if you need the added utility, it's definitely the way to go. However, with very little negotiated effort, I purchased my 24 Acura MDX Advance for $59k....which is definitely worth the $4k premium over a Pilot BE.
That’s true but you can also get 4k off these which makes the difference 8k again. While I’d get an MDX myself I’d also argue this has some more capability too, they aren’t similar other than sharing a platform
@@davewilson7602 As this is a new trim, I suspect that a $4k markdown is few and far between for now. In all likelihood, one could probably get an even larger discount on the Advance since my store so readily took $6k off the sticker. (Likely due to the newly updated 25 models.)
The problem with your MDX and Pilot comparison is that the 3rd rows aren't even close in size. The Pilot 3rd row is much roomier, so if you need to haul a larger family, the Pilot unfortunately wins every time over the more luxurious MDX.
25:42 I have a 2017 Honda Pilot Touring. I have 321,000km and no problems. Best vehicle I have ever owned!!! I hope when they eventually make a Hybrid version that they keep the 3.5 litre engine. Best engine ever!!!!

For 55k you can get a FWD Acura MDX with the Technology Package. Acura has better interior and exterior styling, a larger infotainment screen with better navigation software, and the 2025 models lose the track pad so it's now a touchscreen. I think Honda will need to heavily discount these to sway buyers to choose this over an MDX. Actually a base MDX starts at 50k and has a lot of the features this Pilot has.

Honda Pilot is reliable and feels great to drive, but this one is definitely not worth 50,000. Better off getting a different model or at least wait till it depreciates and buy it used.
You know what I have to say Honda please upgrade your technology to the new Honda Accord screen. Then maybe I will buy that cuz 9 in. That's just too small in today's standards. A lot of cars be having 12.3 in screens Honda. Please update your screen size for the Honda pilot
Because Honda has thousands of extra 9-inch screens sitting around that they've already paid for, and they need to get rid of them by installing them in the 25's.
Honda needs to step up that game boo boo!!!! 9 inch screen? And poor resolution? No wonder us cake having ebony queens don’t drive Hondas!!!! We know our worth and our yams deserve the best of the best!!!!!!
They both target different purposes. Pilot is more of a family hauler with the usability of a minivan in a truck like body. It runs on a naturally aspirated V6 that’s meant to be dogged around like a workhorse. CX90 is more luxurious and sleek with less space in the 3rd row and trunk area. It runs on an inline turbocharged V6 in a RWD platform that’s accelerates smoothly.
Until they get away from a tabley sticking straight up out of the dash as if it is 3rd party, I will NEVER buy a vehicle designed with such a hideous interior.

Honda Pilot is reliable and feels great to drive, but this one is definitely not worth 50,000. Better off getting a different model or at least wait till it depreciates and buy it used.
Honda holds value, buying new is not a big problem. 55 for the new Traverse next year won't be 50. Honda will
Front and rear overhangs are laughably long, has that Toyota Grand Highlander extended crossover affect from the side. 😬
Feels so outdated inside like 2016/17 😅💯😏
The gloss-black plastic looks really cheesy. The screen is ridiculous for a vehicle with this price tag.
Maybe 2026.
Any considerations on IIHS safety ratings compared to Acura MDX and the Pilot? (as far technical measurements)
That screen is wayyyyyy too small compared to rivals
Hello Josh. And hope your brother is OK too.
Doing great!
I love it 😂
You know what I have to say Honda please upgrade your technology to the new Honda Accord screen. Then maybe I will buy that cuz 9 in. That's just too small in today's standards. A lot of cars be having 12.3 in screens Honda. Please update your screen size for the Honda pilot
generally have no idea why they didn't bring that technology on this new model
Because Honda has thousands of extra 9-inch screens sitting around that they've already paid for, and they need to get rid of them by installing them in the 25's.
Honda run stayble and save gas and last long
I don't like perferated leather. Anything spilled on it will go right through it.
Honda needs to step up that game boo boo!!!! 9 inch screen? And poor resolution? No wonder us cake having ebony queens don’t drive Hondas!!!! We know our worth and our yams deserve the best of the best!!!!!!
9 in, not big enough? ❤😂 12 inch's to a yard I bet
You could give birth to multiple children in this puppy.
It’s a hearse 😂
Still no ac air vents on ceiling their ac sucks
Mazda is CX90 more luxurious inside out compare to this Pilot…gauge cluster and infotainment is outdated…
🤎🤎🤎
Rear end really ugly.
Mazda CX90 is way better.
Even CX70
You haven’t seen all the Cx90 issues have you?
@@Jeez001what issues are they having just curious
They both target different purposes.
Pilot is more of a family hauler with the usability of a minivan in a truck like body. It runs on a naturally aspirated V6 that’s meant to be dogged around like a workhorse.
CX90 is more luxurious and sleek with less space in the 3rd row and trunk area. It runs on an inline turbocharged V6 in a RWD platform that’s accelerates smoothly.
@@joshualewis2367lot of issues with hybrid power train.
Kinda boring car.
I feel like palisade or Santa Fe is better
Until they get away from a tabley sticking straight up out of the dash as if it is 3rd party, I will NEVER buy a vehicle designed with such a hideous interior.
