We just bought the 2025 Pilot Elite. For us it made no sense to spend more money essentially for nothing more than black accents/trim. We got the pearl white with brown leather interior and prefer the looks over the black trim.
I could live with this Black Edition in this color combination. However I agree with Tom. Black Edition logo should be on all headrests. This a Black appearance package to a Pilot Elite trim. For me had Honda not added the Brown interior to the Pilot Elite exterior colors Black, White and Modern Steel I would have gone for this Modern Steel Black Edition trim. But I have decided on getting the White exterior Brown interior Pilot Elite
I had the dealer remove the crossbars on my Pathfinder, I have them but for me, not necessary. They can create a small amount of noise and drag. Great review! This is a big vehicle. 😂
I have an 06 Pilot and it has a column shifter and it’s sad that column shifters are a thing of the past except on some pickups. With a column shifter, the center console is open. I can take bags from drive through and easily place them right there. Heck I can also place down small items and they won’t roll away. I’ve run out for a gallon of milk and placed it there while I drive back home and it’s perfect. There aren’t any SUVs out there that have this. I wish this was something Honda kept on all their pilots over the generations. Now with the shifter there and all the other controls, I’d be nervous if I spill coffee there.
Tom, great video! Interesting that the Pilot has the new 3.5L DOHC V6, while the Acura MDX non Type S models still use the SOHC version. The Pilot uses 87 octane fuel, while the MDX recommends 91 octane. I am considering the MDX A-Spec Advance, so wonder what you think about the engine differences between the sister brands?
Lots of manufacturers are doing the screen sticking up out of the dash like a laptop, and I hated it, which is why I like the Subaru Ascent that has an embeded infotainment system.
What a great vehicle! I love everything about it. I only wish Honda would make a pickup version of the Pilot (specifically the Black Edition). I don't know why the Ridgeline doesn't have the same features as the Pilot. It's supposed to be based on the Pilot (so they say). However, I think it's more like the Passport, which is not as nice in my opinion.
They didn't redesign the Ridgeline or Passport. They did another refresh for 2024. The Pilot was completely redesigned in for 2023 with new platform transmission engine. I was waiting for Ridgeline full redesign with Pilot features to buy. But as time got near I knew wasn't to be full redesign. I had been looking at Pilot Elite trim specifically. Had they not put the Brown interior in the Pilot I might go for this in black. But I'm going white exterior this time.
The MDX drives better and has more premium features. This would be Jewel Eye headlights and diffrent audio system. To have same list of features as the Black Edition/ Elite Pilot. You would have to get MDX with Advance Package. Your mid-level trim MDX is not going to give all the features of Black Edition/Elite Pilot. Ventilated Seats front. Heated Steering Wheel, 360 Multi-View Camera System, Heads-Up Display and Rear Outboard heated seats.
There won't be any changes to the pilot for the 2026 model year. The passport will be fully redesigned for 2026. It will be arriving in the spring of 2025. I should have a video on the new passport in early February 2025.
Yes, this Pilot does have blind spot monitoring. Lane keeping assist helps to keep you in your lane. Blind spot monitoring lets you know if there is something in ypour blind spot.
A few things I don’t like about it 1. Fake exhaust tips 2. Small screen 3. Competition has power telescoping/tilt steering wheel 4. Interior needs better colors, too bland 5. Hate the push button gear selector
Then go for the Kia Telluride, It has a Larger Screen, Better Interior Colors, Traditional Shifter and Real Exhaust Tips but no power steering wheel and telescoping.
Im not a fan of the push button selector either, but its a small price to pay for an otherwise, mostly flawless design. Bigger screens may be flashy, but few work as well or are as simple to use as this one. The pilot is geared to have a 10 minute learning curve to operate everything, a very good thing in my book. The fake exhaust tips is a matter of traditional design. Even my electric EQS has a simplified "tribute" to them integated in its rear bumper😂
Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited 2024 vs Honda Pilot Elite 2025/2024. I just want the Adaptive Cruise Control comparisons between these 2 cars. How aggressive is the Toyota 3.0 safety sense. And what changes 2024 to 2025?
BTW, having owned multiple SUV's with motorized third row......These manual ones are ridiculously better and more convenient. You can lower and raise the 3rd row in the Pilot 3 times in the time any motorized system takes to simply lower the seats. The seatbacks are designed to be raised with almost no effort. Better yet, manual ones will work forever, motorized ones have a tendency to have reliability issues.
Car manufacturers have to stop with the ventilated seats . They are the worse . To make them ventilate there are mass amount of tiny holes . Anything clogs up those holes and you cannot get it out as it imbeds itself into the seat . Just a terrible idea . The look of the infotainment center is just terrible for a very expensive vehicle
@@massoudafg4875right! 😂 I was asking because I’m tempted to get the 2025 Tahoe and this thing is a bargain in comparison. Plus I miss my passport but this addresses many concerns I had.

We just got our 2025 Black Edition in red. Love it so far
I'm waiting for mine😢

I bought the exact one. However I optioned the rear black H logo and the trailer hitch. Probably will black out the fake exhaust too.
So glad to see you in front of the camera instead of behind!
I get many compliments. Chose Black.
Would look good in silver with the black

Dose the 2025 Pathfinder SV have the walkaway button and the power outlook also? Along which SUV has a bigger storage in the trunk storage?

What is the road noise difference between the Honda and Pathfinder?

Excellent video Tom.
I would take this over the Acura MDX in any blink of an eye!

I like this one just the way it is.
what color is this specific trim?
is this still timing belt? Does it have spare tire?
Yes to both
@@bchowmein1711 Thank you!
The sweet spot is EX-L, if I had extra cash I would do Touring, everything above Touring seems unnecessary!
9” screen is ok on lower trims
I heard that Honda Pilot 2026 is comming out in Spring. Can u please provide details about that. Am holding on the buy cos of that. Tks

You can go hands off the steering wheel and you drive straight in the labe

Are the side mirrors auto dimming? Toyota only reserves this for their upper trim Sienna and Lexus line.
Pilot Elite and Black Edition have Auto-dimming side mirrors.
Do they make this in a hybrid?
Nope. Not yet
With dealer ‘markups’ can easily run to $62k or above🤷🏼
I was quoted about $51k for the Trail Sport OTD? They add accessories but never a mark up unless it’s a Type R.
I've heard this engine has a timing chain in place of a timing belt. Anyone know if that is correct?

Walk away feature? Does that mean the door is going to close when I'm coming back for the rest of my grocery? Not a good thing.
You push the button when you are ready for the door to close. It will not close if you do not first push the button
that rear floor cover seems like it might break -doesnt seem thick or flexible enough
It looks heavily like the Dodge Durango!
Minus the big front grill
Hi Tom is this higher than Elite
Hi! Yes, this is the top trim level for the Pilot.
Nice 2025.
I want you to review 2025 ridgeline

Infotainment is so dated compared to competitors 😅
